Chapter 1849: Mistakenly Entering Another World

A month later, a black flying boat appeared over a deserted island, roughly a hundred miles in circumference. The terrain was higher in the east and lower in the west. To the east lay a vibrant green mountain range with lush vegetation, while the west was an open expanse.

Wang Mengbin, Cheng Zhenyu, Zheng Nan, and Elder Feilong stood inside the black flying boat, their expressions varied.

"Fellow Daoist Wang, this is the place," Elder Feilong said, pointing to the deserted island below. He performed a hand seal, and the black flying boat slowly descended.

Wang Mengbin and the other two unleashed their spiritual senses, carefully scanning the entire island. They found no restrictive spells, nor any presence of other cultivators.

The black flying boat landed in a narrow, long valley. The uneven stone walls were covered in green moss, and hundreds of fist-thick green vines climbed the walls. Elder Feilong flicked his sleeve. A dazzling yellow formation flag flew out, disappearing into a stone wall like lightning.

The stone wall immediately glowed with a dazzling yellow light, and an opening several zhang wide appeared. "That secret place is at the bottom of the sea, guarded by a high-grade fourth-tier demonic beast. It's more convenient to go down from here," Elder Feilong explained. He strode inside, Wang Mengbin followed, with Cheng Zhenyu and Zheng Nan close behind.

After walking for over a hundred steps, the path suddenly opened up, revealing a cavern about an mu in size before them. In the upper-left corner was a pond over ten zhang wide. The stone wall above the pond was cracked, revealing a line of water droplets that occasionally fell into the pond. In the upper-right corner was a deep, dark cave about a zhang wide. The cave extended underground, its end nowhere in sight.

Wang Mengbin carefully scanned the cave with his spiritual sense, but found no anomalies. Elder Feilong transformed into a streak of light and flew into the cave. Wang Mengbin and the other two followed closely.

They felt their bodies rapidly descend. The cave wound around, showing clear signs of artificial excavation. Less than a quarter of an hour later, they landed on the ground. The place was exceptionally damp, with over a dozen puddles of varying sizes on the ground. Faint blue runes were visible on the stone walls. In the lower-left corner were a blue stone bed, a green stone table, and several green stone stools. It appeared that someone had once lived here.

This was an underground cavern over ten mu in size. No demonic beasts were in sight.

Just then, Wang Mengbin's expression turned grim. Countless silver electric arcs surged from his body, shooting out in all directions. With a thunderous roar, the entire underground cavern shook violently. The silver electric arcs struck the left side, seemingly blocked by something, and suddenly dissipated.

A gigantic demonic beast suddenly appeared. It was a beast resembling a lizard; its entire body was vibrantly colored, with a row of sharp spines on its back. Two several-foot-long blue tentacles protruded from its head, with egg-sized blue eyeballs at their ends. In total, this beast had four eyeballs.

"Fellow Daoist Wang, be careful!" Elder Feilong warned, his expression tense. "This beast excels at stealth techniques, often ambushing from corners, making it hard to guard against."

Wang Mengbin rubbed his hands together, and dazzling lightning illuminated his palms. A watermelon-sized silver lightning orb formed in his hand. With a flick of his wrist, the silver lightning orb shot out, smashing towards the colorful lizard. The eyeballs on the colorful lizard's tentacles each shot out a beam of blue light, meeting the orb. With a tremendous roar, the silver lightning orb was shattered by the two blue lights.

Seven dazzling yellow flying swords shot forward, striking the spot where the colorful lizard had been, but they hit nothing. The colorful lizard had vanished. Wang Mengbin snorted softly and performed a hand seal. A massive thundercloud suddenly appeared above their heads, emitting deafening thunder. Lightning flashed and thunder roared, with silver lightning serpents continuously slithering within the cloud.

After the booming thunder subsided, thousands of silver lightning serpents shot out, pouncing in all directions. This was an indiscriminate attack. After a tremendous explosion, the colorful lizard reappeared at the top of the cavern, with faint smoke rising from its body.

Seizing this opportunity, Zheng Nan summoned the Sea-Calming Mirror, infused it with a hand seal, and a misty blue glow shot out, enveloping the colorful lizard. The colorful lizard seemed to be frozen in place, unable to move. A piercing whoosh echoed, and a dazzling yellow heaven-piercing giant sword shot forward, striking the colorful lizard, emitting a "clang" of clashing metal, with sparks flying.

The thundercloud churned violently, and hundreds of silver lightning orbs shot out, smashing towards the colorful lizard. After a massive explosion, the colorful lizard fell to the ground, its body charred black. The Sea-Calming Mirror played a crucial role; otherwise, it would have taken them a lot more effort to eliminate this demonic beast. Elder Feilong was secretly astonished. Surrendering had indeed been a wise decision.

Cheng Zhenyu stepped forward to examine the colorful lizard's corpse. He found that its demonic core had been destroyed. The destructive power of lightning-attribute dao arts was truly formidable.

They carefully inspected the cavern, finding an anomaly on a stone wall to their right. After blasting open the wall, a rudimentary stone chamber several hundred zhang in size appeared before them. The chamber contained no remains, storage bags, magic treasures, or spirit herbs. What was somewhat strange was that there were nine entirely blue stone slabs on the ground. The surfaces of the slabs were engraved with numerous mysterious patterns. Upon closer inspection, the patterns on the nine slabs formed a bizarre beast design. The nine formation plates had one hundred and eight equally sized grooves, suggesting a formation.

"Is this a formation? Or a restriction?" Wang Mengbin was utterly bewildered. He looked at Elder Feilong and the other two, all three of whom wore expressions of confusion.

"We'll know if it's a formation by putting spirit stones in," Zheng Nan suggested. With a flick of his sleeve, one hundred and eight mid-grade spirit stones flew out and settled into the grooves. Time passed bit by bit. There was no anomaly, and the spirit stones' spiritual energy showed no loss. It didn't look like a formation.

"Go and see what's happening," Wang Mengbin instructed Elder Feilong. Elder Feilong dared not refuse and cautiously walked over.

As soon as he stepped onto one of the floor slabs, the slab suddenly sank. The strange beast seemed to come alive, its body emitting dazzling spiritual light, and a powerful current of air was abruptly generated. Wang Mengbin and the other two inwardly cried out in alarm. They wanted to escape, but it was too late. An irresistible suction force attacked from behind, pulling all three of them uncontrollably towards Elder Feilong.

The next moment, Wang Mengbin felt a dazzling blue light flash before his eyes, followed by a strong sense of dizziness. After a moment, Wang Mengbin recovered. He was astonished to find that he was floating above a dense, lush forest, his body rapidly falling towards the ground. He quickly steadied himself and stopped his descent.

Two streaks of light flew from afar. Wang Mengbin's spiritual sense swept over them, revealing them to be two Core Formation cultivators, and he paid them no mind. Before long, the two streaks of light stopped, revealing themselves to be two entirely green seagulls. A man and a woman stood on the backs of the seagulls. Their sleeves were embroidered with a green seagull pattern, clearly indicating a certain faction.

A stout young man in a green shirt, with a round face and large eyes, babbled incessantly. Wang Mengbin couldn't understand a word he said. Wang Mengbin was stunned. He couldn't understand the other person's language. Had he stumbled into another realm? Was that formation a realm-teleportation array? Judging by their demeanor, they harbored no ill will. But Wang Mengbin couldn't communicate with them. He was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. Entering an unknown realm and not understanding the local language was a very dangerous situation.
