Chapter 1834: Wind and Snow Abyss Treasure Hunting

The Wind and Snow Abyss is situated in the southeastern part of Qianhu Realm, renowned as one of its most perilous locations. It is home to a multitude of ice-attributed demonic beasts and spiritual herbs, attracting many cultivators seeking treasures. However, throughout history, very few who entered the Wind and Snow Abyss have managed to return safely.

A streak of green escape light appeared on the distant horizon, accompanied by the faint sound of a deafening dragon roar.

Not long after, the green light stopped, revealing a green flying boat shimmering with unstable light. Shangguan Tianhong and dozens of other cultivators stood upon it.

Below lay a vast, boundless white ice field, with white snowflakes occasionally drifting down from the high sky.

"This is the Wind and Snow Ice Field. The Wind and Snow Abyss is deeper inside." Wang Changsheng looked down at the ice field, his gaze filled with curiosity as he observed it.

Incidentally, he had previously ventured through two other dangerous places, the Buried Demon Ice Field and the Fallen Immortal Ice Field, obtaining many ice-attributed spiritual items from them.

On their journey, they had killed many demonic cultivators and performed soul searches on them. They discovered that True Monarch Qianhu had not lied; the Wind and Snow Abyss was indeed very dangerous. Most items used by spirit cultivators were useless to the demon race, so after occupying Qianhu Realm, the demon race did not send anyone into the Wind and Snow Abyss for treasure hunting. However, some demonic cultivators who ventured there in search of treasures never returned alive.

According to True Monarch Qianhu, the Wind and Snow Abyss contains a spatial node leading to other realms. However, that location is too perilous, and no one has been able to find that spatial node. Throughout history, three Mid-Spirit Transformation Stage cultivators from Qianhu Realm entered the Wind and Snow Abyss and never reappeared.

True Monarch Qianhu was certain that the Wind and Snow Abyss held a spatial node to other realms because Sword Sovereign Four Seasons had visited Qianhu Realm and entered the Wind and Snow Abyss.

Sword Sovereign Four Seasons, having visited Qianhu Realm, defeated more than ten Spirit Transformation cultivators with his immense strength, earning him widespread fame.

Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan were both surprised to learn that Sword Sovereign Four Seasons had visited Qianhu Realm.

According to the records in Qianhu Realm's ancient texts, Sword Sovereign Four Seasons was supposed to have gone to Tianlan Realm, then came to Qianhu Realm, and finally disappeared in the Wind and Snow Abyss.

As the founding patriarch of Taiyi Immortal Sect, Sword Sovereign Four Seasons was renowned, with few rivals in Dongli Realm. It was unexpected that even in other realms, Sword Sovereign Four Seasons remained virtually unrivaled.

There were at least the relics of three Spirit Transformation cultivators here, and there must be Heaven-reaching Spirit Treasures among them.

"Let's all disembark! No matter what, it's a dangerous place in Qianhu Realm, so it's better to be careful." As Shangguan Tianhong spoke, he formed a hand seal. The Azure Dragon Boat slowly descended. A biting cold wind blew towards them, but it dissipated upon nearing the Azure Dragon Boat.

Dozens of cultivators successively jumped off the Azure Dragon Boat. In addition to them, there were ten Nascent Soul stage demonic cultivators who had been marked with a restriction by Shangguan Tianhong. Shangguan Tianhong ordered them to lead the way for treasure hunting, promising to spare their lives and reward them if they found treasures.

In front of a Mid-Spirit Transformation Stage cultivator, these Nascent Soul cultivators had no power to resist and could only obey obediently.

The demonic cultivators were led by a couple, Liu Tong and Chen Rong, both Mid-Nascent Soul stage cultivators. They were unlucky to be conscripted by Shangguan Tianhong.

They came from cultivating families. If they defied Shangguan Tianhong's orders, not only would their lives be in danger, but their entire families would face annihilation.

Wang Changsheng brought Ye Haitang, Wang Yingjie, and Wang Xin with him. As for the other clan members, they went elsewhere to gather cultivation resources.

Before the main force arrived, this was an excellent opportunity for them to get rich. Cheng Zhenyu and his wife also went to scavenge for cultivation resources.

Ye Haitang was a formation master; if they encountered powerful formations or restrictions, she could help break them. Additionally, Wang Changsheng was concerned about her safety, so he personally kept her with him.

Shangguan Tianhong formed a hand seal, and the Azure Dragon Boat quickly shrunk. It transformed into a streak of green light and disappeared into his sleeve.

"Little friends Liu and Chen, lead the way! If you dare to play tricks on me, you know the consequences," Shangguan Tianhong instructed, his tone indifferent.

"This junior would not dare to play tricks. We will lead the way immediately," Liu Tong hastily explained. He and Chen Rong took the lead.

Liu Tong flicked his sleeve, and a white light flew out, revealing a shimmering white flying boat with a moose pattern carved on its surface.

"This Ice Moose Boat is specifically designed for traveling on snow. The snow on the ground is too thick, and flying through the air might trigger certain restrictions," Liu Tong explained, looking nervous.

Shangguan Tianhong nodded and strode forward. A burly young man in a red shirt followed him.

The red-shirted young man had a square face and large eyes, with faint red light subtly emanating from them. Judging by his spiritual power fluctuations, he was a cultivator at the perfected Nascent Soul stage.

This person was named Chen Hong. He claimed to be Shangguan Tianhong's grand-disciple. Wang Changsheng believed he was Shangguan Tianhong's incarnation; Chen Hong was almost always present when Shangguan Tianhong appeared, which was highly unusual.

Knowing but not speaking out, it was not strange for Shangguan Tianhong, as the top figure in Tianlan Realm, to possess an incarnation.

Everyone successively boarded the Ice Moose Boat. Liu Tong cast a spell, and the Ice Moose Boat immediately lit up with a soft white glow, gliding swiftly across the snow-covered ground towards the distant horizon. While it moved as if on flat ground, its overall speed was not particularly fast.

Chen Rong conjured a snow-white long whip and swung it around, scattering large snowdrifts to avoid colliding with boulders.

After about a quarter of an hour, they appeared in a long, narrow valley. The rock walls on both sides of the valley were covered with thick ice, with no plants visible. Long icicles hung upside down from the rock walls.

Even with the protective spiritual light around him, Wang Yingjie couldn't help but shiver.

The temperature here was too low. They hadn't even reached the Wind and Snow Abyss yet; once there, the temperature was likely to be even lower.

"This canyon is quite long, and it's home to a type of ice-attributed demonic insect. Individually, they aren't strong, but their advantage lies in their vast numbers, usually appearing in the hundreds of thousands. Even Nascent Soul cultivators would have trouble if they encountered them," Liu Tong explained, looking a bit nervous.

Shangguan Tianhong and Wang Changsheng each held a white beast hide, which had a topographic map drawn on it.

"Can't we go around?" Wang Yingjie asked curiously.

"We could take a detour, but not only is it a long journey, we'd also have to break through several restrictions. This path is relatively safer, and with the seniors' divine abilities, dealing with those ice-attributed beetles won't be a problem," Liu Tong explained cautiously.

Shangguan Tianhong took out the Jinwu Pearl, cast a spell into it, and the Jinwu Pearl lit up with dazzling golden light.

Wang Ruyan also used her Black Phoenix Spirit Eyes to observe their surroundings, but found no anomalies.

"Let's go this way! A few demonic insects are nothing to fear," Shangguan Tianhong ordered. If there were no Fifth-Tier demonic insects, what did quantity matter?

Liu Tong breathed a sigh of relief. He cast a spell, and the Ice Moose Boat slowly glided forward.

The valley was winding and not wide. They encountered a few ice caves along the way but did not stop, passing directly through them.

After less than a quarter of an hour, they exited the canyon. A vast, boundless white forest appeared before them. The white forest was filled with a type of white tree. These trees were lush with white leaves, and snow accumulated on their crowns, blocking out a significant amount of sunlight, overshadowing the sky and sun, giving a heavy sense of oppression.

Chen Rong flicked her wrist, and the white long whip shot out, striking a large white tree. A loud boom echoed as the white tree snapped in half at its trunk, and a large amount of snow fell from its crown.

A buzzing sound arose, and hundreds of thousands of white beetles flew out of the forest, heading directly towards them. These beetles varied in size; the largest were hundreds of feet in size, while the smallest were no bigger than a palm.

The white beetles resembled scarab beetles, possessing a pair of scythe-like forelegs and a snow-white tail stinger.

The Insect King was a Mid-Fourth-Tier creature. A Nascent Soul cultivator would genuinely not be its match.

Liu Tong's face panicked. He quickly conjured a red spherical pearl, the size of a pigeon egg. He cast a spell into it, and the red pearl immediately lit up with countless red runes, emitting a dazzling red light. Innumerable crimson flames surged forth, transforming into a crimson fire cloud over a hundred zhang in size.

He changed his spell, and a clear bird cry echoed. The crimson fire cloud intensely rolled and suddenly transformed into a red peacock, over a hundred zhang in size, radiating astonishing high temperatures.

"Go!" The red peacock fiercely flapped its wings and charged towards the opposing side.

When the white beetles touched the red peacock, they were immediately engulfed by surging flames and turned into ashes.

An extremely bizarre screech echoed. Hundreds of thousands of white beetles violently rolled, gathering together. They transformed into a white ice mountain, over ten zhang tall, with a thick layer of ice on its surface, and smashed towards the opposing side.

Boom! With a loud crash, the red peacock collided with the white ice mountain, instantly exploding. A red spherical pearl flew backward.

The combined attack of hundreds of thousands of demonic insects was not much weaker than a spirit treasure.

Chen Hong snorted softly. He flipped his palm, and with a flash of golden light, a shimmering golden plantain fan appeared in his hand. The fan's surface bore the pattern of a golden peacock, emitting astonishing fire spiritual energy fluctuations. It was clearly a spirit treasure.

The Spirit Treasure Golden Sparrow Fan. Shangguan Tianhong's incarnation naturally wouldn't be without a spirit treasure.

Chen Hong gently waved the golden plantain fan, and a clear sparrow cry echoed. A wave of golden flames swept out, and the surrounding temperature sharply rose.

He formed a hand seal, and the golden flames violently surged. They suddenly transformed into a golden fire blade, over a hundred zhang long, entirely engulfed in rolling flames.

"Go!" Chen Hong let out a low cry. The golden fire blade shot out with a whoosh, meeting the white ice mountain.

The white ice mountain collided with the golden fire blade, splitting into two. The golden flames clung to the white ice mountain, and the blaze rapidly expanded, engulfing the white ice mountain.

Boom! With a loud crash, the white ice mountain exploded. Hundreds of thousands of white beetles scattered, flying in different directions to escape.

After a rapid burst of zither music, waves of blue sound swept out. The blue sound waves quickly passed through the bodies of the white beetles. The white beetles fell from the sky, one after another, with no visible injuries on their surfaces. They were motionless and devoid of life.

The Insect King emitted a strange screech. Countless white frosty auras surged from its body, and a solid white ice armor spontaneously appeared, protecting its entire body. The blue sound waves passed over it, and its body swayed back and forth. It fell from the sky, but it was not dead; its limbs were still moving.

A flicker of surprise appeared in Wang Changsheng's eyes. If it were a regular Fourth-Tier demonic beast, it would have long since died from the sound waves. It seemed this type of beetle had some unique abilities.

The Gold-Devouring Ants had suffered heavy losses in previous battles. Wang Changsheng had consulted Gongsun Yang about insect-controlling techniques. According to Gongsun Yang, if Gold-Devouring Ants were allowed to devour other spiritual insects, there was a chance they could mutate into a new type of spiritual insect, mastering special divine abilities. However, mutation didn't necessarily mean a positive change; it could also be a negative one.

Chen Hong snorted softly, about to strike and kill the Insect King. Wang Changsheng flicked his wrist, and a golden light flew out, coiling around the Insect King and returning to stand before Wang Changsheng.

Wang Changsheng put it into his Spirit Beast Bracelet. He planned to find an opportunity for the Gold-Devouring Ant Queen to devour the Insect King. The other beetles shouldn't be wasted either; they were all food for the Gold-Devouring Ants!

Wang Yingjie's eyes shifted, and he understood tacitly. He moved to collect the corpses of the beetles, put them into a storage bag, and handed it to Wang Changsheng.

Wang Changsheng's face showed approval. Wang Yingjie not only cultivated diligently but also had good observation skills.

During their expedition to Qianhu Realm, they obtained a large amount of cultivation resources. There were dozens of items suitable for forming a Nascent Soul. Giving Wang Yingjie a few more wouldn't be a problem.

After dealing with the white beetles, they continued their journey.

The Ice Moose Boat traveled through the narrow white forest.
