Chapter 1510: Sea Soul Jade

On the outskirts of the Myriad Puppet Mountain Range stood a massive city built from red brick and stone.

Inside a five-story azure pavilion, Wang Yingjie and over twenty Core Formation cultivators were enjoying tea and conversation.

Wang Yingjie spoke about the various sea areas in the South Sea, including their cultivation resources and forbidden zones, while the other Core Formation cultivators listened with great interest.

Only a few of them had been to the South Sea, and even then, they hadn't explored many areas. Wang Yingjie, however, hailed from the South Sea and had visited numerous regions.

A tall, dignified red-robed Daoist sighed, a look of envy on his face. "Daoist Wang, hearing you speak, I truly wish to visit the South Sea and experience its local customs. Alas, I'm tied down by the Netherworld Spiders and cannot depart."

"Indeed!" echoed a beautiful girl in a blue dress. "Once this matter is resolved, I will definitely make a trip to the South Sea. At that time, I hope Daoist Wang will guide us on a thorough tour."

Wang Yingjie laughed heartily. "Of course! If any of you Daoists visit the South Sea, I will personally host you."

The red-robed Daoist enthusiastically suggested, "Fellow Daoists, I have some items I'd like to trade with everyone. If anything catches your eye, we can discuss it via spiritual communication. How does that sound?" Wang Yingjie and the others had no objections.

There was no market here. To acquire cultivation resources, one would have to eliminate Netherworld Spiders to earn merit points. Given that the spiders rarely bothered them, it was highly unlikely they would actively seek out trouble with the spiders. Therefore, exchanging items with other Core Formation cultivators was the natural alternative.

The red-robed Daoist took out several materials, mostly fire-attributed ores, intending to exchange them for materials of equal value.

Wang Yingjie pointed to a translucent purple crystal and asked curiously, "What is this? It has such strong Yin energy."

The purple crystal was oval-shaped and appeared to be an ore, yet it emitted a strange fragrance, which was unusual for an ore, as minerals typically have no scent.

The red-robed Daoist explained, "This is the core of a Spirit-Devouring Flower. It's an alchemy ingredient, similar to a monster's inner core."

Wang Changsheng cultivated Bloodthirsty Thorns, and he had Wang Mengfen post a bounty mission to find wood demon cores. However, wood demons were extremely rare, and Wang Mengfen had been unable to find any of their cores.

"A core? What-tier monster's core?" Wang Yingjie casually asked, reaching out to grasp the crystal.

The red-robed Daoist exclaimed in alarm, stopping Wang Yingjie. "Daoist Wang, don't touch it! That core is highly poisonous. I once touched it directly with my hand and nearly died."

Wang Yingjie paused, surprised. So potent? He recalled a family mission to collect wood demon cores and wondered if poisonous ones were also required.

"The Spirit-Devouring Flower is incredibly venomous, and its core is equally so. It can be used as a medicinal primer for refining antidote pills."

Wang Yingjie mused for a moment, then took out a red beast hide, two zhang in length and width, and a red wooden box. "Daoist Sun," he said, "how about I exchange this core with you for the hide and monster core of a rank three mid-grade Blazing Shark?"

The red-robed Daoist looked at the other Core Formation cultivators. Two of them had also presented items for exchange, but the red-robed Daoist preferred what Wang Yingjie offered, so he made the exchange with him.

After the exchange was complete, the red-robed Daoist returned to his seat. Wang Yingjie stood up and displayed over a dozen items, including two rank three puppet beasts.

"I'm looking to exchange for items of equivalent value, with refining materials taking priority."

The cultivators present exchanged glances. A single rank three puppet beast was worth over 700,000 spirit stones, but due to the high difficulty of crafting them, they were priceless commodities, often sought after but rarely available.

In the recent major battle, the Wang family's puppet beasts had displayed extraordinary might, a sight witnessed firsthand by the Core Formation cultivators present.

"Daoist Wang, you're offering rank three puppet beasts for exchange? Are you certain?" the red-robed Daoist asked in a deep voice, taking a deep breath and fixing his gaze on the puppet beasts.

"Of course," Wang Yingjie chuckled, a hint of arrogance on his face. "However, to acquire a puppet beast, you must present truly valuable items. Ordinary things won't do; I'm not someone who hasn't seen the world."

Trading rank three puppets for refining materials was an order given by Wang Qingshan.

During major battles, numerous treasures would emerge in the cultivation world. A rank three puppet beast was equivalent to a fearless Core Formation guardian, and possessing one significantly increased one's chances of survival.

The red-robed Daoist's expression flickered. After a moment of hesitation, he took out an azure jade box, handed it to Wang Yingjie, and communicated via spiritual message, "Inside here is a rank four Ice Moon Moth's inner core, along with a piece of Sea Soul Jade that has been defiled by something."

Hearing the words "Sea Soul Jade," Wang Yingjie was greatly startled. Sea Soul Jade could only be found ten thousand zhang below the seabed. It was a top-grade water-attributed refining material. It was said that the Four Seas Sect's treasured artifact in the South Sea, the Sea-Overturning Halberd, was crafted from Sea Soul Jade.

He opened the jade box. Inside was a pigeon-egg-sized black ore, speckled with blue light points and shrouded in misty water vapor. Beside the black ore was an azure wooden box. Upon opening it, he saw a snow-white inner core.

Wang Ruyan cultivated two Azure-Eyed Frost Silkworms. Ice Moon Moths shared the same attributes as the Azure-Eyed Frost Silkworms, and a rank four Ice Moon Moth's inner core would be somewhat beneficial for their advancement. Sea Soul Jade was even more remarkable, but unfortunately, it was defiled by something, making its suitability for refining uncertain.

Other Core Formation cultivators approached one after another, communicating with Wang Yingjie via spiritual message. All were interested in the rank three puppet beasts, with some even willing to expend their entire fortunes to acquire one.

After repeated hesitation, Wang Yingjie made the exchange with the red-robed Daoist. Regardless, Sea Soul Jade was a top-grade water-attributed refining material, and perhaps the ancestor could purify the defilement.

With the exchange complete, Wang Yingjie returned to his seat. The other Core Formation cultivators then successively presented their materials for display and trade.

The materials displayed by the Core Formation cultivators from the Northern Territory were mostly fire-attributed. Most of the items they sought were alchemy ingredients, especially monster cores, as the Northern Territory was rich in mineral resources but had relatively fewer monster resources compared to the South Sea.

Wang Yingjie found little else of interest and did not make further exchanges.

Over an hour later, the exchange concluded, and Wang Yingjie and the others returned to their respective residences.

Wang Yingjie immediately reported to Wang Qingshan, presenting the Sea Soul Jade and the Ice Moon Moth's inner core.

"Ancestor," Wang Yingjie respectfully said, "your grandson has fortunately fulfilled the task and exchanged for two rare materials."

Wang Qingshan was somewhat surprised. He had mentioned it casually, not expecting much, but Wang Yingjie had indeed managed to acquire rare items.

"Yingjie, you've done very well," Wang Qingshan instructed. "Continue to contact him and ask if he has any undefiled Sea Soul Jade. If he has a large quantity, you can exchange it for Nascent Soul spiritual items." Sea Soul Jade was a top-grade water-attributed refining material, and if there was enough of it, Wang Changsheng might be able to refine a spirit treasure.

"Yes, Ancestor, your grandson understands," Wang Yingjie promised, patting his chest.

Wang Qingshan gave a few more instructions, then dismissed Wang Yingjie.
