Chapter 1325: Four-Grade Spirit Water

In a damp, dark, dense forest, fallen leaves lay several feet thick. Towering trees, over a hundred zhang tall, were ubiquitous, their thick canopies blocking out most of the sunlight and casting the ground below into a damp and gloomy perpetual twilight.

Suddenly, a deafening roar shattered the silence. More than a dozen giant fireballs, each the size of a water tank, plummeted from the sky and crashed into the damp forest. They instantly exploded, igniting raging flames. Due to the forest's dampness, the fire did not immediately spread, instead producing thick, billowing smoke.

A golden giant eagle, roughly a zhang in size, flew overhead, clutching a palm-sized green porcelain bottle with an open mouth in its talons. Under the sunlight, the golden eagle shimmered with a metallic luster, revealing itself to be a puppet beast.

Behind the golden eagle followed two red giant scorpions, each two zhang long. They possessed massive pincers, a pair of red, thin wings about a zhang in size on their backs, and a gleaming golden barbed stinger on their tails that shimmered with a faint, ominous golden light, clearly indicating potent venom. Judging by the powerful aura they exuded, they were clearly low-grade fourth-tier venomous creatures.

From the forest below came a whistling sound. Hundreds of towering trees began to shake violently, and countless green leaves shot forth like sharp blades, swarming towards the two red scorpions in an overwhelming barrage. Each of the two red scorpions spewed forth a torrent of raging flames to meet the attack.

Boom!

A large number of leaves turned to ash, while the few that struck the red scorpions left not even a scratch. Suddenly, a vast expanse of green thorns erupted from the ground. They grew wildly, coiling around towering trees, uprooting them, and then, laden with these massive trees, hurled themselves at the two red scorpions.

The two red scorpions reacted swiftly, flapping their wings furiously to dodge the attack. Simultaneously, they spewed streams of crimson flames at the towering trees, setting them ablaze. Just as the flames were about to engulf them, the green thorns released the towering trees, letting them crash to the ground. Before long, the forest was consumed by towering infernos.

By this time, the golden eagle was already hundreds of zhang away. The two red scorpions, apparently stimulated by something, tried to resume their pursuit. Just then, massive yellow boulders, each about a zhang in size, rose from the ground and hurtled towards them.

Behind one of these yellow boulders, Wang Changsheng lay, most of his body concealed beneath the earth, only his head poking out, his gaze intently fixed on the two red scorpions. The porcelain bottle clutched in the golden eagle's talons contained Heavenly Moon Divine Water, an incredibly potent poison. For some venomous insects and beasts, it was an irresistible temptation; otherwise, they would not have been so relentlessly pursuing the golden eagle.

The Wood Spirit casting spells to block the two fourth-tier demonic insects was, of course, to buy time for the golden eagle. Otherwise, at the speed of these two fourth-tier creatures, they would have long since caught up to it. The Wood Spirit's actions clearly enraged the two fourth-tier demonic insects. One of the red scorpions flapped its thin wings with a shimmer and abruptly vanished.

The next moment, it reappeared abruptly beside the Wood Spirit, opening its mouth to spew forth a torrent of raging flames that struck the spirit. Simultaneously, its tail hook swayed gently, sending a cascade of golden light flying out. The Wood Spirit's body was riddled with numerous blood holes, and several green thorns on it snapped. The red scorpion attempted to continue its assault, but an urgent ringing sound pierced the air. Its head sank, and with a flash of green light, the Wood Spirit dissolved into specks of green light and vanished.

The Wood Spirit was skilled in the Wood Escape Art, leaving the two red scorpions helpless. Unable to track the spirit, they spread their wings and resumed chasing the golden eagle. Behind the yellow boulder, a red thorn as thick as an adult's arm emerged from the ground – it was the Wood Spirit. The Wood Spirit, originally green, had turned red. It collapsed directly onto the ground, unresponsive no matter how Wang Changsheng tried to communicate with it. Wang Changsheng frowned and put the Wood Spirit away. He wouldn't have resorted to such a desperate measure if he hadn't been forced to. He hoped the Wood Spirit would be alright.

At this point, the golden eagle appeared at a ten-thousand-zhang high peak, barren of any vegetation and covered entirely in gray rubble. At the foot of the mountain lay a massive cave entrance, two zhang wide, from which wisps of cold air continuously surged forth. Thin ice shards were even visible along the edges of the opening. The cave entrance directly faced a black, dense forest where a vast expanse of black trees, over a hundred zhang tall, could be seen.

A deafening roar erupted from within the cave, and a blue light shot out. It was a dull-faced youth in a blue shirt, his body covered in constantly flickering runes, clearly a talisman soldier. Accompanied by an extremely eerie hiss, two beams of white light flew out from the cave. The blue-shirted youth swayed, narrowly dodging them. The two white beams struck a pair of towering trees, which froze into ice sculptures at a visible rate. The ice layer expanded relentlessly, freezing everything within a hundred-zhang radius.

A two-headed giant python, over thirty zhang long, crawled out from the cave. Its body was pure white, covered in countless palm-sized white scales, and its eyes were pale gold. Judging by the terrifying aura it emitted, it was clearly a mid-grade fourth-tier demon beast. The golden eagle abruptly released its talons, and the green porcelain bottle hurtled towards the white python. One of the white python's heads spewed a beam of white light, instantly freezing the green porcelain bottle into a massive block of ice.

The blue-shirted youth moved his arms, sending several blue fist-shadows flying out to strike the ice block. A large amount of pungent-smelling liquid splattered forth. Some of the liquid landed on the white python, causing green smoke to immediately rise as its scales corroded away, revealing large patches of flesh beneath. The white python let out a pained hiss as a surge of white cold air emanated from its body, and a thick layer of white ice armor spontaneously appeared, shielding its entire form. Both of its heads then unleashed beams of white light directly at the golden eagle and the blue-shirted youth.

The blue-shirted youth moved his arms, sending several zhang-sized blue fist-shadows flying towards the two red scorpions high in the sky, striking at them. The two red scorpions quickly opened their mouths and each spewed forth a stream of raging flames.

Boom!

The blue fist-shadows collided with the crimson flames, erupting into a vast expanse of white mist. Both the blue-shirted youth and the golden eagle were struck by the white light and instantly transformed into ice sculptures.

The battle was far from over. The white python, now enraged, engaged in a fierce struggle with the two red scorpions. Constant roars filled the air as crimson flames and white ice clashed, unleashing powerful shockwaves and vast amounts of white mist.

Inside the cave, everything was pristine white; the ground and stone walls were completely frozen. In the upper left corner, there was a cold pool over ten zhang wide, beside which stood a white fruit tree about a zhang tall. Four snow-white fruits hung from its branches, their shapes resembling miniature snakes.

"Crack!"

The ice layer on the ground suddenly shattered, and Wang Qingling emerged from beneath, her eyes gleaming with intense delight. She quickly stepped forward and plucked the four blood-colored fruits. She then released her Earth Dragon Earthworm and Ice Wind Dragon. The Earth Dragon Earthworm's body shimmered with a surge of yellow light before it burrowed into the ground and vanished. Not long after, the fruit tree suddenly toppled over, its root system perfectly intact. The Ice Wind Dragon plunged into the cold pool and, a short while later, flew out of the water.

She put away the fruit tree, walked to the edge of the cold pool, and scooped up a handful of water. It felt incredibly bone-chilling, and her hands instantly froze. She took a small sip, and her eyes lit up. This was a pool of fourth-tier spiritual water. It was no wonder the golden-eyed snow python had been able to cultivate to mid-grade fourth-tier; this pool of spiritual water had undoubtedly played a crucial role. Wang Qingling hastily produced a white jade bottle and collected all the water from the pool. She put away the Ice Wind Dragon, and both she and the Earth Dragon Earthworm burrowed underground and vanished.
