Chapter 123: Kind Wang Changge

Wang Changsheng took out the map to check the route. He looked at the surrounding peaks, compared them with the map, and frowned slightly.

To avoid attacks from ghosts and ghost bees, they had deviated from their original path, but thankfully, not too far.

Wang Mingzhan noticed Wang Changsheng's change in expression and asked with concern, "What's wrong, Changsheng? Have we strayed from the route?"

"Yes, fortunately, we haven't deviated too much. Next, we need to pick up the pace. If we arrive late, there won't be any Fiery Flame Pills for replenishment. If anyone feels unwell, they must speak up immediately; don't hide it."

"Understood, Changsheng (Ninth Brother)," Wang Mingzhan and the others readily agreed.

Half an hour later, Wang Changsheng released two turtle puppets, which carried the clan members down the mountain, disappearing into the vast mountains.

Above a desolate high peak, thirteen cultivators were besieging a gigantic bone corpse. This demonic creature resembled a tiger but had a pair of bone wings about ten feet wide on its back and a long scorpion tail.

The thirteen cultivators all had a blue moon symbol on their clothes, identifying them as cultivators from the Wang Family. Wang Shuhan and Wang Ruyan were present, along with a white-robed elder with a long beard.

Black mist billowed around the bone corpse, its tail stinger lashing back and forth. A massive red light barrier enveloped it, and inside the barrier were several glowing red magical artifacts.

Wang Ruyan and two other Foundation Establishment cultivators each held a red formation disk, while the ten Qi Refining cultivators each held a glowing red command flag.

"Let's not waste any more time. We can't stay here too long. If we miss the rendezvous, we'll be stuck here forever." The white-robed elder said in a deep voice, his expression very serious, as he cast a magic spell into the formation disk in his hand.

Wang Shuhan and Wang Ruyan followed suit. The red formation flags in the hands of the ten Qi Refining cultivators instantly glowed brightly, and countless fiery lights emerged within the red barrier, forming a gigantic crimson fire dragon that lunged at the bone corpse, baring its fangs and claws.

With an earth-shattering roar, the crimson fire dragon exploded, transforming into raging flames that instantly engulfed the bone corpse.

In less than three breaths, the flames dissipated, and the bone corpse vanished. On the ground lay a scorpion tail, covered by a faint spiritual glow.

Witnessing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and withdrew the formation. The white-robed elder placed the scorpion tail into his storage pouch.

They each took out and consumed pills, and their pale faces quickly regained their color. Clearly, they had come prepared with plenty of spiritual power recovery pills.

After resting for a quarter of an hour, their condition returned to peak form. Led by the white-robed elder, they headed down the mountain.

Seven days later, the two turtle puppets carried Wang Changsheng and his group, rapidly ascending the mountain.

Wang Changsheng's complexion was slightly pale, and Wang Mingzhan and the others also looked poor. Wang Changhui was unconscious, his limbs cold, and his face pale.

Wang Changsheng had underestimated the dangers of the Ghost Abyss. Along the way, they encountered a large number of ghosts and bone corpses, even three Foundation Establishment-stage bone corpses and two Ghost Generals.

Relying on their numerous puppet beasts and Tier 2 talismans, all clan members were safe, but dozens of puppet beasts were destroyed, including one Tier 2 puppet beast, and two Tier 2 talismans were used up.

Ghosts and bone corpses continuously emerged to attack them, severely impacting their progress. Wang Changsheng had initially intended to fly to their destination, but he discovered that after entering areas with dense Yin energy, numerous flying bone corpses began to appear.

The Yin energy grew heavier, and to resist its intrusion, they had to constantly infuse spiritual power into their Fiery Flame Pendants. When their spiritual power was depleted, they had no choice but to stop and rest, severely hindering their journey.

Out of desperation, Wang Changsheng had his clan members take Fiery Sun Pills, which improved their condition slightly. However, each Qi Refining cultivator only had three Fiery Sun Pills, and one pill lasted for only a day. Wang Changsheng distributed his own Fiery Sun Pills among the clan members, but with ten members, it was far from enough.

Now, they had no Fiery Sun Pills left and could only rely on their Fiery Flame Pendants to isolate the Yin energy.

Not long ago, they had an encounter with a group of ghosts. Wang Changhui's protective shield was broken by a ghost, but fortunately, Wang Changsheng rescued him in time. However, without the shield's protection, a large amount of Yin energy surged into his body. As a mere Qi Refining cultivator, Wang Changhui quickly developed problems. Initially, he experienced cold sweats and vomiting, then he simply fainted, his aura weak.

The Fiery Sun Pill was refined from various Tier 2 fire-attributed spiritual herbs, containing a large amount of Yang energy. To save Wang Changhui, they needed Fiery Sun Pills. Without them, Wang Changhui would surely die. Not only Wang Changhui, but Wang Mingzhan and others were also experiencing vomiting. Without Fiery Sun Pills for replenishment, all of them would eventually die.

"Changsheng, this can't go on. How about this: you take Changge and the others and fly to our destination using your artifacts. I've checked; we're not far from the destination. I'll stay here and look after Changhui." Wang Mingzhan deliberated repeatedly before making his suggestion.

Wang Changsheng shook his head and said solemnly, "No, Sixth Uncle. If I could fly to the destination, I would have done so already. Besides, if I leave you and Changhui behind, you'll surely die. I won't abandon you. We just need to endure a bit more and pick up the pace; we can still reach our destination."

In the outer regions, flying bone corpses were relatively few, but upon entering the deeper areas, their numbers greatly increased, making aerial flight even more dangerous than traveling on foot. Of course, doing so would certainly not save Changhui's life, but more clan members would survive.

Wang Changge frowned and said, "Sixth Uncle, Ninth Brother, stop arguing. How about I..."

"Boom!" A sudden, huge explosive sound interrupted Wang Changge.

"Someone up ahead? Quick, prepare for battle." Wang Changsheng's eyes lit up, a hint of joy appearing in them.

"Ninth Brother, what do you intend to do?" Wang Changge frowned.

Wang Changsheng glared at Wang Changge and said coldly, "What do I intend to do? Of course, to kill them and seize their Fiery Sun Pills! Do you want to stand by and watch Changhui die?" He was deeply disappointed in Wang Changge. The last time they entered the Hundred Beasts Mountain Range to hunt demonic beasts, Wang Changge had shown similar compassion towards outsiders. He had thought Changge might have changed, but he was still the same.

If they could return safely to the clan this time, Wang Changsheng would no longer allow Wang Changge to participate in such missions, to prevent him from holding back the clan members.

"That's right, we can't just stand by and watch Changhui die. If we don't take their Fiery Sun Pills, more clan members will die. Changsheng, just give the order! Anyone who wants to watch Changhui die can refuse to act." Wang Mingzhan gave Wang Changge a meaningful look, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.

"Hurry and follow them! Control the puppet beasts to kill them, focusing fire on the strongest one. Remember, we need to end the battle quickly! Eleventh Brother is waiting for the Fiery Sun Pills to save his life! If we drag this out, Eleventh Brother's life might be in danger." Wang Changsheng instructed. As if remembering something, he told Wang Changge, "Fourth Brother, just keep an eye on Eleventh Brother later."

Wang Changge gave a bitter smile and nodded in agreement.

Wang Changsheng controlled the two turtle puppets to increase their speed, crawling towards the source of the sound.

A quarter of an hour later, they reached the foot of the mountain. A narrow valley appeared before them, and the explosive sound was coming from within it.
