Chapter 1224: Purple Moon Fairy's Intentions

Leaving Rihyue Tower, Wang Changsheng and Fairy Ziyue did not return to their residence. Instead, they went to a nearby teahouse and requested a private room, leaving the door wide open.

Soon after, Ye Rou'er walked in.

“Madam Lin, Fellow Daoist Wang.” Ye Rou'er smiled sweetly and greeted them.

Fairy Ziyue closed the door and took out a snow-white cloak. She intended to exchange it with Ye Rou'er for a magic treasure capable of concealing one's figure. As she draped the white cloak over herself, a flash of white spiritual light enveloped her. Fairy Ziyue, along with the cloak, vanished without a trace, as if she had never been there.

Wang Changsheng was somewhat surprised. He had previously acquired similar magic treasures, but none were as effective as Fairy Ziyue's. He expanded his spiritual consciousness but could not detect Fairy Ziyue's presence.

“Excellent, Madam Lin, I’ll take this magic treasure,” Ye Rou’er said, a satisfied expression on her face. Trading a batch of materials for a magic treasure was a guaranteed profit.

“Fairy Ye, this magic treasure was not easy to refine; you’ll need to provide more materials,” Fairy Ziyue haggled. She would not have been willing to part with this treasure if the items Ye Rou'er offered hadn't met Wang Changsheng's needs.

Ye Rou'er pondered for a moment, then said, “How about this? I’ll add a bottle of fourth-tier spiritual water, the True Dry-Cold Water. True Dry-Cold Water can increase the success rate when refining artifacts or pills.”

Fairy Ziyue considered it and then agreed.

Thus, Fairy Ziyue exchanged a magic treasure for a collection of items useful to Wang Changsheng.

“Fellow Daoist Wang, Madam Lin, we shall meet again another day.” Ye Rou'er put away the magic treasure and quickly departed.

“Junior Martial Sister Tian, you shouldn't have traded a concealment magic treasure for these materials; it was a bit of a loss,” Wang Changsheng sighed, his emotions complex. Even if he were dull-witted, he understood Fairy Ziyue's intentions, but with her single-minded focus on revenge, the unspoken barrier between them remained unbroken.

“It’s no loss at all. It’s just a magic treasure, not a spirit treasure; if it’s gone, it’s gone. I can refine another one if I acquire suitable materials in the future,” Fairy Ziyue said dismissively. She handed the traded items to Wang Changsheng and continued, “Senior Martial Brother Wang, you can use all these items, please take them. Yuan Gang has obtained a damaged spirit treasure, so it will likely be even harder to kill him. I think we should be more careful; he probably wants to kill you too.” Yuan Gang didn't recognize Fairy Ziyue, but he did recognize Wang Changsheng. When enemies meet, their eyes burn with animosity; whoever is stronger will be able to kill the other.

“I wonder what magic treasure he offered to trade for a damaged spirit treasure,” Wang Changsheng mused, feeling a bit down. If Yuan Gang repairs the spirit treasure, his strength will undoubtedly increase significantly. Above spirit treasures are Heaven-Reaching Spirit Treasures, but these are extremely precious. Even the Zhenhai Sect, a prominent sect established ten thousand years ago, doesn't possess a single Heaven-Reaching Spirit Treasure. This highlights the immense value of Heaven-Reaching Spirit Treasures, and implicitly, how precious spirit treasures themselves are. If Wang Changsheng could obtain a spirit treasure, his strength would certainly improve considerably.

“Who knows? Yuan Gang is also a fourth-tier artifact refiner, but repairing a spirit treasure is not so easy. Once the Divine Weapon Assembly concludes, we'll leave Divine Weapon Island,” Fairy Ziyue said nonchalantly. Although her strength wasn't formidable, she could still hold off a Nascent Soul cultivator without issue. Even if Yuan Gang repaired his spirit treasure quickly, he wouldn't be able to instantly kill Wang Changsheng.

Wang Changsheng nodded, indicating he agreed.

After leaving the teahouse, the two strolled through the streets. As the Divine Weapon Assembly drew nearer, Divine Weapon Island became exceptionally lively, with Core Formation cultivators seen everywhere.

Wang Changsheng and Fairy Ziyue visited the rogue cultivators' market square, but found nothing of interest.

More than two hours later, they returned to their residence to meditate and recuperate.

Three days later, a long queue of cultivators formed at the entrance of a hundred-zhang-tall golden tower, waiting to enter.

Today was the day the auction began; ordinarily, one would need at least Core Formation cultivation to participate. However, if accompanied by a Nascent Soul cultivator, even Qi Refining cultivators could enter.

Wang Changsheng and Fairy Ziyue paid a sum of spirit stones and entered the golden tower. Inside, they were met by a spacious and brightly lit golden hall. A fair-faced maid in a golden gown quickly approached and led them to a side room.

The side room was over a hundred zhang in size, furnished with tables, chairs, and benches, and adorned with several murals on the walls.

Two blue crystal balls, one large and one small, were embedded in the stone wall, shimmering with spiritual light and quite conspicuous.

“Esteemed seniors, please wait a moment. Once the auction begins, the Projection Crystal will display images. You can bid with confidence, as no one will know what items you are bidding on. If you wish to bid, simply infuse spiritual power into the Projection Crystal and speak your price.” The maid in the golden gown explained the use of the Projection Crystal in detail, demonstrating it herself.

“Projection Crystal?” Wang Changsheng murmured. He had attended numerous auctions before, but this was his first time hearing of or witnessing such a bidding method.

“I will be standing by the door; please feel free to instruct me if you require anything, seniors.” With that, the maid in the golden gown bowed and withdrew.

Wang Changsheng and Fairy Ziyue sat down, drinking tea and chatting.

Soon after, the large crystal emitted a dazzling blue light. A beam of blue light shot out, transforming into a blue mirror several zhang in size. Within the mirror, there was a high bluestone platform, upon which stood a bluestone jade table and two bluestone jade chairs, nothing particularly special.

A golden light and a silver light descended from above, landing on the bluestone platform. The golden light revealed a beautiful young woman in a golden dress, while the silver light revealed a benevolent-looking elderly man in a silver robe.

“Welcome, esteemed seniors, to this auction,” the young woman in the golden dress announced. “The rules are the same as other auctions: the highest bidder wins. If you lack spirit stones, you may use items as collateral or offer them for auction. The auction now begins.” With a flash of green light in her hand, she produced a foot-long green jade box. She opened the box and took out a pale green talisman, into which she infused spiritual power. The green talisman lit up with countless runes, suddenly transforming into a broad-shouldered, robust armored warrior in a green shirt, its gaze vacant.

“This is a sixth-tier Core Formation Talisman Soldier, equivalent to a fearless Core Formation cultivator guard. The starting bid is 200,000 spirit stones, and each increment must not be less than 20,000.”

As Wang Ruyan could refine Talisman Soldiers, Wang Changsheng naturally wouldn't bid on one. However, many cultivators were interested in this particular Talisman Soldier.

“200,000!”

“220,000!”

“I bid 240,000!”

The bidding was fierce, and this Core Formation Talisman Soldier ultimately sold for a high price of 600,000.

The young woman in the golden dress then took out a completely blood-red crystal and announced loudly, “Blood-Glazed Stone, a fourth-tier artifact refining material. It is an excellent material for refining blood-path magic treasures. The starting bid is 200,000 spirit stones, with each increment not less than 20,000.”
