Chapter 635: Madman

Chen Changrui observed Gu Hao's condition.

Li Banfeng had stuck the feather duster into a vital spot, and it seemed Gu Hao wouldn't last much longer. What did he mean earlier by "magnetic storm weapon" and "coordinates"?

Chen Changrui said, "You don't have much time left. Quickly tell me about these coordinates." Gu Hao struggled to reply, "First, let me down."

With Li Banfeng, Gu Hao dared not make demands; one more word would mean another feather duster inserted. However, with Chen Changrui, Gu Hao was less cooperative. Chen Changrui was at a loss, as they had been colleagues for many years. Whether Gu Hao would cooperate was one thing, but Chen Changrui had to at least agree for now: "Alright, I'll let you down immediately after you tell me the coordinates."

"You let me down first, then I'll tell you the coordinates. And you need to get me to a hospital as soon as possible; I don't want to die."

"No problem, I promise you everything. Just tell me the coordinates first."

Gu Hao shook his head. "Old Chen, don't play games with me. If you don't save me, you won't find out where the base is." Chen Changrui's face darkened. "If you delay important matters, do you think I'd still be able to save you?"

"Then let's just wait it out. If I die, it won't be good for you!"

Chen Changrui wasn't really listening to Gu Hao. He had just received a message from Li Qi. The message contained the coordinates of the magnetic storm weapon base and the license plate numbers of all vessels traveling to and from it. This information was originally meant for Shen Jingye to relay to Li Qi; Shen Jingye had instructed Gu Hao to inform Li Qi immediately upon seeing him. What Shen Jingye hadn't anticipated was that Gu Hao was an mole.

Chen Changrui said to Gu Hao, "Let's put the coordinates aside for a moment. Tell me, where did Director Li go?"

"He should be... going to find... our two precinct masters, the main one and the deputy."

"Who are your two precinct masters?"

"I can't... say... their names."

"Where are your two precinct masters located?"

Gu Hao repeated his demand: "Let me down, and I'll tell you." He was overthinking it; Chen Changrui would never let him down.

"Just stay hanging there for a few more days. You're covered in Director Shen's blood; let it dry first, then we'll talk." Chen Changrui turned and left the villa.

Gu Hao wanted to shout but couldn't. He hoarsely pleaded, "Don't go, don't... Please, let me down! I'll apologize to Director Shen! I beg you, let me down..."

After leaving Yueming Garden, Chen Changrui immediately called Gao Yina, who was skeptical about the magnetic storm weapon.

"Director Chen," Gao Yina began, "regarding this matter, I hope we can proceed based on sufficient evidence..." The usually easygoing Chen Changrui's veins bulged. After so many years in the job, he had heard these kinds of excuses countless times, but he disdained using them himself.

He directly interrupted Gao Yina: "Director Gao, let me be very clear with you. I've recorded our conversation. I am not communicating or coordinating with you right now; I am giving you a work directive. The coordinates I received are precious clues obtained by Director Li with countless bloodshed. For us, this is a strategic opportunity that cannot be missed. Their magnetic storm weapon can destroy our communication equipment in a short time, potentially paralyzing many of our combat systems. If this weapon is deployed by the enemy in warfare, we will be left utterly defenseless. If you are certain you can bear this responsibility, I can proceed step-by-step, collecting evidence and pushing the investigation through standard procedures. However, if you are deliberately obstructing me to protect the Hundred Devil Precinct, I have reason to suspect you are associated with the Hundred Devil Precinct criminal organization, and possibly even colluding with Dark Star's Third Planet!"

Gao Yina remained silent for a long moment. Chen Changrui's demeanor was somewhat intimidating.

He said these clues were obtained by Li Qi with countless bloodshed. Did Li Qi even have that much blood? That was clearly not the point! The point was that Chen Changrui had assigned a huge responsibility, a very heavy one. She couldn't bear the responsibility for a war, nor did Gao Yina want any association with the Hundred Devil Precinct.

"Director Chen, I will organize a meeting immediately. Please prepare your materials as soon as possible—"

"I don't have time to prepare materials! We need to prepare for the upcoming war now!"

"Old Chen, calm down. The mobilization of resources from all sides requires coordination!"

Chen Changrui threw his phone down and slammed his fist against the steering wheel. "Director Li! Where are you?"

Baiqiao Village, Jiacheng District.

Inside a long-abandoned underground shopping mall, Du Wenming, dressed in a dark yellow tuxedo, was setting up his laboratory. Pei Yurong wanted him to wear yellow, so he wore yellow. The funding was in place, the equipment had arrived, and the more than three hundred staff members arranged by Pei Yurong were also present.

Du Wenming had truly not expected Pei Yurong to arrange over three hundred people. Her intention was clear: she wanted to monitor every step of Du Wenming's experiments, comprehensively and without blind spots. She wanted to ensure one thing: whatever Du Wenming could produce here, she could certainly replicate. This greatly displeased Du Wenming; he looked at Pei Yurong with a hint of coldness in his eyes.

Six people, three men and three women, stood near Pei Yurong. Noticing Du Wenming's unusual expression, they adjusted their positions, shielding Pei Yurong in the center. These six were experts from outside the state, though their skills might only be considered extraordinary there. If Du Wenming truly wanted to act, everyone present combined couldn't stop him. However, Du Wenming couldn't afford to turn hostile. Pei Yurong had provided the lab space and equipment. Without her assistance, handling such a large project on his own would lead to the Dark Star Bureau knocking on his door within two days.

But with so many people coming and going, could they truly hide from the Dark Star Bureau? Du Wenming lowered his voice and asked, "Are these people reliable?"

Pei Yurong replied, "You understand the rules of the Hundred Devil Precinct. You know how much hardship one must endure to join. Even those painters have gone through countless tests. As long as there's an order from the precinct, they wouldn't bat an eye if told to kill their own parents."

Several workers were painting the walls; the color was still dark yellow.

Du Wenming said impatiently, "Precinct Master, you don't need to bother with these minor details like painting. I'm eager to start work."

Pei Yurong smiled. "Don't worry, it won't delay your start. I bought this place half a year ago, and the infrastructure is almost complete. You'll need to teach them how to install the experimental equipment; they'll debug the basic systems for you to see in a moment."

As she spoke, Pei Yurong called over a project manager, gave a few brief instructions, and the manager had the workers debug each basic system one by one. These basic systems included water and electricity, ventilation, lighting, audio, and security.

There was no need to over-inspect the standard equipment, but the security facilities couldn't be taken lightly. The project manager ordered a worker to debug all the lab's exits. The lab had five exits in total: two frequently used ones and three emergency exits. The project manager explained roughly: "The three emergency exits are in normally closed mode, and the two frequently used exits are in automatic mode. All five exits are set with both internal-open and external-open modes."

Du Wenming was not accustomed to their terminology. "What are internal-open and external-open?"

The manager explained, "Internal-open mode means that outsiders cannot open the door, even with a key. It must be operated by personnel inside the lab to open the door. External-open mode is the opposite: only a key used from the outside can open the door; all internal operations have no effect."

Du Wenming frowned. "What's the value of external-open mode? Are you going to intentionally trap people inside the lab?"

Pei Yurong said, "I had them design it this way to prevent anyone from infiltrating the lab and leaking our secrets. Using external-open mode can trap infiltrators inside."

Du Wenming was puzzled. "If someone is capable of infiltrating the lab, do you think a mere door can stop them?"

Pei Yurong smiled. "These doors are specially constructed and can resist most Dark Energy users' techniques. We can demonstrate it for you now."

The project manager called out, "Door number one, external-open, close door."

The debugging personnel received the command and performed the operation. The gate of Door Number One slowly closed. The door's color perfectly matched the wall, and from the outside, even the gaps aligned perfectly with the wall tiles. Unless one was very familiar with the lab, it would be difficult to locate the door from outside the wall.

Pei Yurong said to Du Wenming, "Why don't you try to open this door with your abilities?"

Du Wenming understood now: the so-called external-open mode was not designed to guard against others, but specifically against him. Pei Yurong was worried that Du Wenming would flee after achieving research breakthroughs.

"The wonderful things the Precinct Master has put effort into creating, I needn't test them," Du Wenming smiled meaningfully. "Let them continue debugging."

The project manager ordered, "Continue debugging." The debugging personnel pressed the switch, and the remaining four exit doors closed one after another.

Because the debugging work was a step-by-step process, no one initially found anything unusual. It wasn't until Du Wenming asked a question: "All five doors are closed. Are they in internal-open or external-open mode now?"

The project manager replied, "Doors one, three, and five are set to external-open. Doors two and four are set to internal-open."

Du Wenming was still uneasy. "Open Door Number Two, let me see."

The project manager told the debugging personnel, "Open Door Number Two."

The debugging personnel responded, "It can't be opened. All five doors are currently in external-open mode."

The project manager froze, and Du Wenming also froze.

"What are you doing? If all five doors are external-open, then none of us can get out!" the project manager shouted at the debugging personnel. Pei Yurong, thinking it was a debugging error, quickly made a call to contact external personnel to open the doors with keys. Du Wenming, however, stared intently at the debugging personnel. He felt there was something unusual about this person.

Before Pei Yurong could connect her call, a sickle flew through the air, smashing her phone to pieces.

Amid flickering lights, the projector turned off its image. The debugging personnel, originally dressed in gray work clothes, transformed into a man in a suit and a top hat. His hat brim was pulled so low that no one could see his face, only the slight upturn of his lips.

"Not being able to get out, isn't that just perfect?" Li Banfeng looked up at the project manager.

"I didn't say it wasn't good," the project manager stammered, terrified, and quickly hid to the side.

Li Banfeng scanned the crowd and added, "The Hundred Devil Precinct, all neat and tidy, isn't that just perfect?"

"Li Qi!" Du Wenming exclaimed in shock. He was not only surprised by Li Qi's appearance but also by the fact that Li Qi had already infiltrated the lab and was just moments ago impersonating a debugging staff member, yet he had sensed nothing.

A gasp went through the crowd. Pei Yurong's eyes widened. She had heard of Li Qi's reputation; many in the Hundred Devil Precinct had. She hadn't expected him to suddenly appear here.

"Director Du, long time no see!" Li Banfeng walked step by step towards Du Wenming.

Du Wenming glanced behind Li Banfeng, smiling slightly. "You dare come for me alone?"

"Who said alone?" Li Banfeng smiled back at Du Wenming. "I'm here too."

Du Wenming frowned. "What are you talking about?" He was alone, yet he said he was also there. What exactly did that mean?

"I'm here too!" Li Banfeng's voice suddenly changed slightly, and his smile became brighter. "We're all here!"

Du Wenming shook his head and sighed. "To think a lunatic like you can be a director in the Dark Star Bureau, what future does the Dark Star Bureau even have? Precinct Master, I'm a man who values ceremony. Play a song for me; I'll send this lunatic on his way!"

Li Banfeng looked around. "Which lunatic are you sending on his way?"

Du Wenming looked at Pei Yurong. "Play the song quickly, can't you see this lunatic is impatient?"

Pei Yurong paused, realizing Du Wenming wasn't joking; he really wanted to play a song. What was the use of playing a song? When dance music was playing, Du Wenming's combat power would increase. He had fought Li Qi before, and it was a draw back then. Now, Du Wenming's strength had greatly increased, and in his opinion, defeating Li Qi should not be a problem. However, he never underestimated an opponent. The mere fact that Li Qi could infiltrate the lab right under his nose meant he had to go all out to kill him. This was a home-turf battle, and he had to seize every advantage.

Li Qi didn't rush him; he just watched silently from the side.

Pei Yurong shouted, "Play the song quickly!"

A Hundred Devil Precinct member took out his phone, seemingly to connect to the audio system, but in reality, he intended to contact the outside and find a way to open the doors. The projector emitted a beam of light that enveloped the Hundred Devil Precinct member. Under the halo of light, the Hundred Devil Precinct member gradually vanished, leaving only a phone that clattered to the ground.

Li Banfeng smiled at everyone. "I also value ceremony. You can play the song, but don't do anything else."

No one dared to move, including Pei Yurong. No one dared to pull out their phone again, nor did anyone know the origin of the projector-like object floating on the ceiling.

Du Wenming looked at Li Qi and said, "If you don't mind, I'll personally play a song for you, so you can leave with some dignity. It wouldn't be a bad thing." Li Banfeng smiled and made a 'please' gesture.

Du Wenming felt a little nervous. This Li Qi didn't seem like the same person he had fought before. Was it because he had changed clothes?

Du Wenming took out a CD and played a dance tune. This was a dance piece specifically composed by Du Wenming, blending the grandiosity and lavishness of Baroque dance music's orchestration with the briskness and compactness of modern music's rhythm. At first listen, the tune seemed a bit comical, much like a circus juggling act. But after listening for a while, one would sense a hint of madness within the melody, creating a feeling of imminent, fatal danger.

Du Wenming chuckled, "This song is called 'The Madman,' and it's perfect for you. I'll send you, this madman, on your way now!" As his words fell, Du Wenming suddenly appeared beside Li Banfeng, performing his signature Puppet Dance. He chose 'The Madman' not because it suited Li Banfeng, but because its tight, distinct rhythm perfectly matched the jerky, staccato steps of the Puppet Dance. The opulent Baroque style also harmonized well with the era when puppets were prevalent. The eerie, sudden shifts in musical style were ideal for Du Wenming to unexpectedly change his dance moves and harm opponents; this was a war dance that maximized his combat power.

Li Banfeng's figure vanished, seeming to try and avoid close contact with Du Wenming.

Du Wenming smiled. "Too late to hide now! This isn't something you can simply evade!"

The two reappeared together amidst the crowd, dancing to the music. Six surrounding workers, being too close, also began to dance with Du Wenming. Du Wenming turned his shoulder and threw his head back; all six workers followed suit, snapping their necks in unison. Li Banfeng was slightly further away. He didn't throw his head back, and his figure vanished again.

Du Wenming pursued relentlessly, and the two met again on a ceiling beam. After two steps, Du Wenming suddenly extended his leg. Two workers on the beam followed suit, breaking their hip bones, and fell to their deaths on the floor. Li Banfeng didn't kick his leg; he seemed to still be unaffected by the Dance Cultivation technique.

The distance wasn't great this time, and with 'The Madman' as accompaniment, how could Li Qi not be affected by the technique? No, he *was* affected! After observing for a moment, Du Wenming noticed Li Banfeng's feet moving to the music, though the movements were not obvious.

Du Wenming's 'Peaceful Song and Dance' technique was a Heavenly Harmony technique; even the characters summoned by Boss Lu would dance along, so Li Banfeng certainly couldn't escape it. As for the small range of motion, this was within Du Wenming's expectations. Li Qi's cultivation wasn't low, so under full resistance, his dance moves would differ from Du Wenming's. According to the characteristics of the 'Peaceful Song and Dance' technique, the initial differences in dance moves would be quite large. After reaching a certain state, only a 20-30% difference would remain. Once Li Qi fully entered the rhythm of the dance, the remaining differences would be negligible.

"If you want to dance, dance to your heart's content! Don't suppress yourself!" Du Wenming closed in again.

Li Banfeng nodded. "You're right!"

Du Wenming lifted his shoulder, and Li Banfeng followed, lifting his own. He was starting to get into the rhythm. Du Wenming suddenly forced his shoulder upwards, like a puppet pulled by strings. With this sudden change in posture, he was confident he could dislocate Li Banfeng's shoulder. Li Banfeng followed, pushing his shoulder upwards with just the right amount of force, without injuring himself.

Du Wenming was surprised to find that Li Qi was very familiar with the Puppet Dance. Indeed, Li Banfeng loved the Puppet Dance, often dancing it alone and sometimes with his wife. During that moment of surprise, Li Banfeng used a gliding step, danced on the beam for a moment, and then vanished.

Du Wenming quickly searched for Li Banfeng's figure. By the west wall, he saw a person in black dancing. Black clothes, a black suit, and an appearance very similar to Li Qi's. Du Wenming teleported beside him and found that this person also performed the Puppet Dance skillfully, but he was far darker than Li Qi. Was that his back of the head? Was that dark mass hair? How could even individual strands not be seen clearly? Was this really Li Qi?

Pei Yurong shouted, "Behind you!"

Du Wenming was startled and suddenly turned around, seeing Li Qi dancing behind him. Turning back to face forward, the figure in black was also dancing, their steps and posture exactly the same, like Li Qi's shadow. Could he use shadows? He knew that some House Cultivators on the clouds possessed the 'Shadow Link' technique. But Li Qi couldn't be a House Cultivator; House Travelers couldn't dual-cultivate.

Even if not a House Cultivator, there were ways to control shadows: extremely rare Shadow Cultivators, and techniques from outside the Dao Sect. Du Wenming had seen many strange methods in the Hundred Devil Precinct.

Du Wenming, dancing, asked Li Qi, "Is this your shadow? You learn just this much, and you dare to come for me? You should take this skill to a circus and perform; why humiliate yourself in front of me?"

Li Banfeng said nothing. Following the rhythm of the dance music, he and the shadow glided together from the west wall all the way to the east wall. He could still move independently, but it appeared he had entered a dancing state.

Worried about falling victim to 'Whirlwind Tour', Du Wenming pursued with gliding steps. The two, plus one shadow, traversed the room. Wherever they passed, dozens of people began to dance with them. Du Wenming suddenly extended his leg, and dozens of people dislocated their hips. The shadow's movement was too exaggerated, causing it to stumble slightly. But Li Banfeng's footwork control was very solid; he remained unharmed. He had already fallen into the rhythm of the dance music, yet he could still endure it?

Given Du Wenming's current strength, once someone started dancing with him, their life was essentially in his hands. It was rare for someone like Li Banfeng to endure for so long after beginning to dance. When the music reached its next transition, Du Wenming lifted his left leg, his toes crossing his shoulder and hooking his neck. This move wasn't fast, and Li Banfeng could calmly follow Du Wenming's movements. However, his flexibility was certainly not as good as Du Wenming's. Du Wenming intended to use this move to completely snap Li Banfeng's leg. The shadow raised its leg, its toes hooking the back of its head, and after hooking, it didn't forget to say, "That really hurts!"

Du Wenming was startled. How could this shadow speak?

Li Banfeng's leg didn't go all the way up; it only lifted halfway, not even reaching his waist. Du Wenming was perplexed. Why wasn't Li Qi still following his movements? He had already fallen into the rhythm of the dance. It had to be a probability issue, definitely a probability issue.

He was right; it was a probability issue. Most of the time, Li Qi was under his control, but crucial few steps remained uncontrolled. Li Qi had fiercely fought for these critical steps, relying on the physical prowess gained from his House Cultivation at home.

The shadow behind him, while dancing, explained for Li Banfeng: "It's not that he's dancing badly; it's that you're dancing incorrectly." Du Wenming didn't understand. What did he mean, "I'm dancing incorrectly"?

A black shadow on the left said to Du Wenming, "You are indeed dancing incorrectly."

A black shadow on the right said to Du Wenming, "If you danced correctly, he would dance just like you."

A shadow walking from the front said to Du Wenming, "If you're not the same as him, then you're dancing wrong."

A shadow following from behind said to Du Wenming, "If you've picked the wrong dance, your Dance Cultivation technique must also be wrong!"

Du Wenming was alarmed. He looked around and found himself surrounded by six shadows, plus Li Banfeng, making a total of seven people.

Du Wenming had never seen such a technique. Although Li Qi and the six shadows were all dancing along with Du Wenming, he could feel that, occasionally, one or two of these seven individuals would fall out of his control. He couldn't allow himself to be surrounded; it would be dangerous. Du Wenming leaped to the center of the laboratory.

Li Qi and his shadows arrived simultaneously, their stride and pace perfectly matching Du Wenming's, and their current positioning was exactly the same as before.

One shadow commented, "This time, the dance step is correct."

Another shadow said, "It's right when we're all the same."

Du Wenming hadn't intended for them to imitate that last step, yet their imitation was flawless. Who was controlling whom? Du Wenming felt a pang of panic. He flashed to a corner of the room.

Standing in the corner, with walls on both sides, there was no space to be surrounded. Yet, he was still surrounded. The shadows maintained their positions; three shadows pressed against the wall, but their dance steps remained perfectly synchronized with Du Wenming's. The shadow in front suddenly made a leap, and Du Wenming followed suit, leaping as well. Why did he leap? Du Wenming hadn't intended to leap just now; he didn't know why he had followed the shadow.

"If you're not the same as him, then your Dance Cultivation technique is being used incorrectly." Du Wenming was clearly affected by this statement. Why would a single sentence influence him so much?

The shadow behind him reminded, "Don't dance in the corner; the audience can't see us!" As the words fell, the shadows all leaped towards the center of the crowd. Du Wenming, against his will, also found himself in the middle of the crowd.

He continued to dance, his Dance Cultivation technique constantly spreading. Du Wenming's dance moves were contagious, passing from one person to another. The power of his Heavenly Harmony technique erupted. Everyone in the lab, one after another, began to dance. The few experts protecting Pei Yurong had been resisting, but within twenty seconds, they could no longer hold back and began to dance with Du Wenming. Li Banfeng leaned forward, and the shadows also leaned forward. Du Wenming followed, leading everyone to lean forward. Many lost their balance and fell to the ground. Li Banfeng's hat was about to fall off, so he covered it with his hand; the shadows also covered their hats. Du Wenming, along with everyone else, clapped their hands onto their heads, hitting himself until his head bled. Crashing sounds echoed through the lab as many people, due to excessive force, directly fractured their own skulls. Li Banfeng extended a leg, and everyone followed, extending their legs, the sound of bones snapping filling the air.

Pei Yurong, her face covered in blood from striking her own head, shouted, "Du Wenming, stop!" After that shout, Du Wenming cleared his head a bit.

'Peaceful Song and Dance' was a Heavenly Harmony technique. Relying on it, Du Wenming could even hold his own against Zhou Badou for several rounds; the power of the technique was undeniable. But Du Wenming knew more than just 'Peaceful Song and Dance'. Now, 'Peaceful Song and Dance' was clearly being exploited by Li Qi. Regardless of what technique those few words used, Du Wenming could feel he was being manipulated. The wounds on his head were evidence—he had inflicted them upon himself. He couldn't even predict what he would do to himself next. He couldn't keep fighting like this! He needed to switch techniques!

Du Wenming flung two short blades from his sleeves; these were two exceptionally rare and superb weapons. He spun in place with the short blades, and a dozen people around him were instantly severed at the waist. Such was the power of these two blades: any slight touch of the blade, anywhere on the body, would result in being cut in half. Li Qi was a Traveler Cultivator of extremely high caliber, making it incredibly difficult to strike him, but Du Wenming had his own methods. His feet crossed, his body lifted off the ground, and he danced and darted like a soaring dragon. Wherever his blades flashed, blood splattered. This was the Dance Cultivation technique, 'Unbound Roaming Dragon'. He moved so fast that Li Banfeng could barely see him. He didn't aim for precision, only speed, cutting down everyone in his path, regardless of friend or foe. It seemed like a chaotic slaughter, but Du Wenming's mind was perfectly clear: Li Qi's presence today meant a fight to the death. If he wanted to survive, he had to kill Li Qi, no matter the cost.

Du Wenming danced faster and faster. Several subordinates quickly protected Pei Yurong and moved her away. Li Banfeng relied on 'Auspicious Evasion' to contend with Du Wenming, while the six shadows continuously moved forward to block the blades for Li Banfeng. Shadows that were cut in half immediately rushed back up, continuing to fight Du Wenming. After a dozen seconds, Du Wenming was severely drained and temporarily halted his technique. He had killed many people, but the shadows multiplied with each cut, and he found himself heavily surrounded.

Why were the shadows multiplying with each cut? Du Wenming couldn't understand. "Is this also a Heavenly Harmony technique of yours?"

The dance music reached its climax, with all sorts of instruments playing together. The tune was like a roaring tempest, grand and continuously surging. Li Banfeng smiled. "This song is called 'The Madman,' right?"

Du Wenming didn't answer; he was channeling power for his next technique.

"This song is truly beautiful; it reminds me of another excellent technique," Li Banfeng chuckled, "Mad Cultivation technique, Dismemberment by Five Horses!"

Du Wenming tapped his toe, reactivating 'Unbound Roaming Dragon'. His body had just transformed into a soaring dragon when he heard Li Banfeng roar, "Hoo-ya-ya-ya!" Using the 'Deep Dwelling' sound cultivation technique, Li Banfeng borrowed its power.

The dance music changed key, and the rhythm instantly accelerated. Du Wenming's dance steps became erratic. He was grabbed by four shadows, while three other shadows seized his left leg. All seven shadows pulled with combined force, tearing off Du Wenming's left leg. Du Wenming hopped on one leg and dashed towards Door Number One, attempting to escape. Li Banfeng lunged in front of him and kicked Du Wenming back. Four shadows caught Du Wenming again, and three shadows stepped forward, tearing off Du Wenming's right leg with a sickening sound.

Du Wenming used both hands to escape to Door Number Three. Just as he tried to open it, Li Banfeng stepped forward and grabbed his head.

Du Wenming yelled, "Li Qi, I have a way to break the boundaries! I'll tell you everything! I'm useful to you, very useful!"

Li Banfeng smiled. "You can come to my office later. I'll take you to meet someone."

As his words finished, seven shadows came forward and tore off Du Wenming's right hand.

Du Wenming, with only his left hand remaining, still tried to retaliate. Li Banfeng stepped on his left hand, and seven shadows came up, tearing his body away from his left hand. Du Wenming, now limbless, continued to yell, "I'm the only one in this world who can break the boundaries! If you kill me, you'll never—"

Li Banfeng again grabbed Du Wenming's head, twisted his wrist, and snapped Du Wenming's cervical spine. He wasn't dead yet; a cultivator on the clouds didn't die that easily. He still had one breath left.

Li Banfeng opened his 'Portable Residence' and sent Du Wenming inside. Where did Du Wenming go? Where did Li Qi throw him?

About two hundred people remained in the lab, all staring at Li Qi in shock.

Li Qi chuckled, "No need to be curious. Some of you lucky ones will see him again in a moment."

Pei Yurong shrank behind the crowd, watching Li Qi with a pale face. She didn't know where Li Qi had sent Du Wenming, but she knew that no one present could stop Li Qi. Gathering her courage, she shouted at Li Qi, "I am a Lavsan! You are from the Dark Star Bureau! You cannot kill me! I am a person of status among the Lavsan!"

Li Banfeng looked at the projector. "This song is very good. Play it again."

The projector controlled the CD, and the song played once more. The two hundred-plus people present devolved into chaos. Some began forming magic circles, some started rituals, some knelt to beg for mercy, and some desperately pounded on the doors. Suddenly, a halo of light emanated from the walls, stripping a layer of flesh from those close to them, leaving them groaning in agony.

The dance music of 'The Madman' echoed through the hall. Li Banfeng, accompanied by his shadows, began to dance with light steps.

"What a great song! It reminds me of another excellent technique," Li Banfeng said, pulling down his hat brim and revealing a smile. "Mad Cultivation technique, Rivers of Blood!"
