Chapter 2143

Today's two chapters have been released. The book will go live at midnight tonight, and VIP chapters are expected to be available around 12:10 AM.

Below are my thoughts on the book's official release.

After two months in the public domain, *Library of Heaven's Path* is finally going on sale. The update frequency, which many of you have critiqued, will shift into an intense, "frenzied" mode starting at midnight.

Before I share my thoughts, let's briefly discuss the book's current performance. As of now, we're just over 99,900 favorites. With a strong new book recommendation scheduled for 2 PM on the client app, I anticipate easily gaining another 3,000 to 4,000 favorites by midnight (last time, we saw over 5,000). This means we should comfortably surpass 100,000 favorites before the official release, possibly by an additional two to three thousand.

While webpage fan counts are currently unavailable, the client app shows over 160,000 followers, more than a million recommendation votes, four "Alliance Leaders," one "Grandmaster," and over 300 fans at or above the "Apprentice" level.

Of course, these past achievements, while nice, are ultimately not what truly matters. What genuinely counts is subscriptions—subscriptions, subscriptions, subscriptions! (Yes, it's that important). On Yuewen, strong subscriptions are paramount for a book to succeed, gain traction, and secure better recommendations and visibility.

Therefore, I want to humbly request your support through legitimate subscriptions. A single VIP chapter, which takes me at least four or five hours to write, costs only a few cents for advanced VIP members. Subscribing helps feed my entire family. Just imagine, my family and I living in a crumbling cave, begging daily, barely clothed, constantly hungry, with gaunt faces. Several of us sharing a single band-aid for warmth at night, our only light coming from static electricity...

*Cough cough*, I can't keep that up.

While reality isn't quite so dire, subscribing to a chapter is like taking a few cents and gallantly tossing them in my face, then proudly looking up and declaring: "Go on, spend it as you please!"

And then... I'd respond with a fawning expression, my eyes gleaming seductively: "You're so handsome, so handsome, so handsome..." (Yes, it's that important)...

Just imagining that scenario is exciting!

*Cough cough*, enough with the banter. In a typical release speech, I should probably talk about how miserable I am. But am I really the kind of person who whines? Would I tell you that I write on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at an altitude of over 3,000 meters? Would I confess that I suffer from cervical spondylosis and tenosynovitis, and that writing every night leaves me with splitting headaches, forcing me to rely on oxygen to keep going? Would I even mention that I frequently experience unexplained heart pain...?

Oops, I seem to have let something slip again.

Anyway, after hearing all this, if you don't subscribe after the release, won't you feel a little guilty towards me? No worries, I'm very generous. You may torment me a thousand times, but I'll treat you like my first love. That's my integrity and noble character! (Heh, quite the character, isn't it? Fully embracing my narcissism here).

So, are you perhaps impressed by my outstanding qualities? Just imagine how delightful it would be to subscribe and support such a wonderful person!

Now that we've finished the small talk, let's discuss what most of you are eagerly awaiting: the update schedule.

Those who have followed me know my moniker on Qidian. For those who haven't, allow me to enlighten you: I was Qidian's first "Hundred-Chapter Emperor," the one who caused a sensation by releasing 100 chapters. Nowadays, at author conferences, if I introduce myself by name, no one pays attention. But if I mention "Hundred-Chapter Emperor," everyone immediately looks at me with a mix of awe and mild disdain, as if I'm incredibly profound and perhaps a little self-important!

How many chapters will I release when the book goes live? Naturally, it will be a bit more than 100; otherwise, how could I live up to my reputation as the "Hundred-Chapter Emperor"?

And for those readers asking just how much "a bit more" means, well, it's just adding a decimal point, of course! So, my update will be...

A massive release of ten chapters! Are you surprised? Ha ha ha, despite being "physically (or mentally) challenged," I, Lao Ya, am determined to repay everyone with this grand update.

Are your monthly passes ready? Are your subscriptions ready?

If monthly passes push us into the top three of the new book rankings, I'll release even more chapters!

If initial subscriptions and favorites surpass the "golden ratio," I'll continue with ten chapters tomorrow!

If accumulated tips reach the equivalent of one "Alliance Leader" (regardless of how many individuals contribute), I'll release even more chapters!

In summary, with high subscriptions and plenty of monthly passes, you can once again witness the former glory of the "Hundred-Chapter Emperor." A furious Lao Ya will re-emerge, allowing the tales and legends of Lao Ya to spread across the community once more...

Here is the serious part:

If you've found yourself laughing while reading this, it's a good sign that the book's style resonates with you. Whether you've read it before or not, I urge everyone to leave a legitimate subscription at midnight (please, no vouchers). The initial subscriptions upon release are incredibly vital for a book, essentially determining its fate. After more than ten years of writing, this is the first time I've achieved such promising results before an official launch. I earnestly implore you all to help *Library of Heaven's Path* advance further and reach even greater heights!

And besides, can you truly resist my pitiful gaze?

Not refusing? Good... Hey, hey, don't walk away! What's with closing your eyes? What happened to basic trust between people?

—Yours truly, Lao Ya JunDecember 31, 2016
