Chapter 1604: Who Is Guiding Whom?

Shaking his head vigorously, the young attendant was utterly stunned.

He had seen countless geniuses from various races, and powerful individuals emerged one after another. Even when battling the continent's most formidable experts, he was confident he wouldn't be outmatched in the slightest.

But... to advance in cultivation as quickly as eating and drinking... he had never seen or even heard of such a thing!

Even Master Kong, back in his day, didn't seem to achieve such rapid progress!

Is he even human?

"Did you... advance by using the spatial secret arts I gave you?"

Unable to hold back any longer, he looked over.

Previously, this fellow hadn't broken through. He had just received the insights into space, but before even opening the books, he had already reached the peak of Saint 9-dan. Could it be that he truly received some kind of inspiration that allowed him to advance so quickly?

But... these books were personally written by him, and he knew them inside out. There was nothing in them that could enable such rapid progress, was there?

"Oh, these seem not bad, but they have too many flaws, which is a headache. Learning directly from them would definitely be problematic!" Zhang Xuan nodded.

"Too many flaws? A headache?"

The young attendant felt his hair stand on end, almost exploding in anger.

He had fought the Luo family members without losing an inch, compressing space with a mere flick of his finger to traverse millions of miles... From every perspective, his understanding of space was no weaker than, and perhaps even slightly stronger than, any expert from the Luo family.

And something he had personally written was being called out for having too many flaws... and worse, with a look of contempt!

What the hell is he looking contemptuous about?!

"What kind of flaws are causing you a headache? Could you elaborate for me?"

Unable to restrain himself any longer, the young attendant gritted his teeth.

If his young mistress hadn't been present, he would have long since slapped this arrogant fellow to death.

"It's fine to tell you!"

Zhang Xuan nodded, "In your book, you state that the more stable space is, the harder it is to break, and that within stable space, one can only traverse by finding a wormhole. Otherwise, it will collapse and be difficult to restore!"

"That's right!"

The young attendant nodded, "Folded space has poor stability; if too much force is used within it, it will collapse! The continent's space is much more stable, making it exceedingly difficult to break. What's wrong with that?"

This understanding of space was passed down from ancestors tens of thousands of years ago. Could it possibly be wrong?

"You're wrong," Zhang Xuan stated. "Space is actually fluid, not stable."

"Fluid?" The young attendant paused, then chuckled dismissively, "How is that possible? We live within space; if it were truly fluid, how could we not know?"

"Do fish in a river know the water is flowing?" Zhang Xuan looked at him.

"This..."

The young attendant was stunned.

If a river is wide and deep enough, the fish and shrimp living in it indeed might not know the water is flowing.

Just like... he had once visited planets suspended in the void. From a distance, one could see them constantly rotating, but once on the ground, one couldn't perceive any movement at all.

"Since space is fluid, wormholes also flow along with it," Zhang Xuan continued. "If you find traces within this flow, just like the grain in wood, and move along with it, space won't pose any problems, nor will it collapse! In other words, moving along the spatial flow is like fish in a river – you've never heard of a river flowing backward because fish swim too fast, have you?"

Zhang Xuan nodded.

This wasn't actually his own theory, but rather something he had learned about from Lu Chong's Witch Soul spatial traversal.

Witch Souls can traverse short distances at will; this wouldn't be possible if they relied on finding wormholes, as even teleportation causes disturbances. Yet, they can arrive silently before an attacked person, leaving them completely unaware.

"This... this..." The young attendant's body stiffened.

With his power, he could naturally tell that everything the young man before him said was correct. However... it completely overturned everything he had learned previously.

"The profession with the strongest control over space is... but I've read many books on this profession, and their theories are all similar to mine. I've never heard of... your kind of theory!"

The young attendant couldn't help himself.

"The profession with the strongest mastery of space... that should be Witch Soul Master, right? Witch Souls are formed from will, making it easier to manipulate space. Do you have books on this profession?"

Zhang Xuan frowned.

As far as he knew, Witch Soul Masters had the strongest command over space.

This was precisely why Lu Chong could achieve spatial traversal that even Zheng Yang couldn't.

However, back then, Witch Soul Masters sided with the Infernal Tribe and were eradicated by the Master Teacher Pavilion... their inheritances were all severed. Lu Chong only managed to obtain his inheritance and greatly increase his cultivation by visiting that hidden ancestral land... How could this person in front of him have access to books on such a profession?

Could it be that... the inheritances of the Hundred Schools of Thought, originating from Master Kong, perhaps survived the wars of that era and thus possess such books?

"Uh..."

Shaking his head, the young attendant didn't answer Zhang Xuan's question. Instead, he looked at him with utmost sincerity, "Are there any other issues? Could you please enlighten me all at once?"

While he had initially thought the other party was speaking nonsense, after exchanging a single sentence, he already knew that Zhang Xuan's understanding of space was far more profound than his own.

"These few books of yours still contain thirteen flaws..." Seeing his sincere expression, Zhang Xuan nodded.

Luo Ruoxi was speechless.

Her original intention was for the young attendant, Wu Chen, to guide the person she liked, helping him to break through better and advance to higher strength. But how... had it turned into the latter guiding him instead?

Most crucially... Wu Chen still wore an earnest expression, clearly having benefited greatly...

Who exactly was guiding whom here?!

"Stop teaching, someone's coming..."

Just as Zhang Xuan was about to explain the specific nature of the thirteen flaws, Luo Ruoxi's voice reached them.

Both were startled simultaneously and stopped.

They had previously concealed themselves and sealed off the space using a special method, so even if they had continued conversing, the outside world wouldn't have noticed.

Zhang Xuan looked forward and saw that several robed figures had appeared in the previously empty mountain range. He didn't know when they had arrived.

These robes were indeed somewhat similar to Master Teacher robes, but they were made of black fabric, making them appear somber and eerie, giving off a sinister vibe.

His Eye of Insight twitched, and he observed carefully.

There were four figures in total, all relatively young, appearing to be around thirty years old.

"Could these be the Infernal Tribe members who abducted Zhao Ya and the others?"

He raised an eyebrow.

Those capable of such a feat were either from the Hundred Schools of Thought or the Infernal Tribe. Luo Ruoxi had personally stated she wasn't from the Infernal Tribe, so these individuals opposite them must be the latter!

Clenching his fist, Zhang Xuan took a deep breath, extended his finger, ready to point at the droplet in his palm, and turned to the girl nearby, "Should we make a move?"

"Not so fast!" Luo Ruoxi shook her head. "We're not very familiar with this relic. It might be better to let them enter first, then make our plans!"

"Alright!" Zhang Xuan nodded.
