Chapter 754

Zu An's gaze fell on her chest. "Sister, if you're calling me 'brother,' why add 'little' to it?"

Casley chuckled. "You'll only know if it's 'little' or not after your sister tries it out."

Zu An was speechless. He was usually the one teasing others, but today he was on the receiving end. This woman was a real tease.

He looked at her cloak with a hint of curiosity. "Why do you hide your face with a cloak? Judging by your figure and temperament, you must be very beautiful. Hiding yourself like this is a terrible waste."

Casley laughed, her body shaking. "Little brother, your words are so sweet. Since you're so good at charming me, your sister will make sure you die without any pain."

"It seems we'll have to fight..." Zu An sighed, then instantly darted forward, thrusting his sword at her.

Halfway there, he felt a needle-like pain in his mind again.

Zu An scoffed inwardly. "Petty tricks!"

He immediately summoned Hundred Ming to counterattack. His opponent had just suffered a great loss from this move, so using it again now must mean something was amiss.

Sure enough, he noticed a giant illusory bell appearing around her, like an enlarged version of the bell on her ankle. Hundred Ming's invisible sound waves struck the bell, producing a series of crisp, pleasant ringing vibrations.

Casley tapped her foot, and her whole body floated backward. Clearly, being proficient in various mental arts, she was prepared, so Hundred Ming's sound wave attack could not harm her.

Seeing her fair legs partially revealed beneath the cloak, with the red-corded bell gently swaying, even in this life-or-death struggle, Zu An had to admit it was a pleasing sight.

However, he wasn't so foolish as to show mercy at such a moment. His sword struck without hesitation, targeting her vital points.

"Little brother, you're so ruthless! Every single strike is aimed at my life." Casley's figure flickered erratically, appearing here one moment and there the next.

"Flash?" Zu An finally understood the pain others felt when fighting him. Of course, her flash was different from his; his blink moved in a straight line over a longer distance, while her flash moved within a small area, functioning more similarly to his Sunflower Phantasm in some ways. Mages really have a lot of tricks!

Zu An mused that he had really chosen the wrong class. Mages had such cool skills, while he was destined for the tank-warrior path, feeling like a clumsy oaf. The only thing to be thankful for was that he didn't use a spear; spearmen have always had E-rank luck. Wait, hold on, who said I don't use a spear? Yun Yuqing, standing right beside me, certainly wouldn't agree.

Just then, an indescribable feeling of terror suddenly arose in his heart. Hundred Ming instinctively counterattacked again, allowing him to recover after a second. Mental fear? Having played so many games in his previous life, he wasn't surprised by such tactics.

"What are you looking at?" He couldn't always passively receive the opponent's attacks, so he immediately retorted.

Casley, who was about to dodge, paused and subconsciously replied, "What about it if I am?"

Zu An was waiting for this exact moment. His Tai'a Sword struck like a meteor, directly piercing her throat.

"Gagging..." Casley clutched her throat with one hand, while the other pointed at him in disbelief, as if trying to say something. But she collapsed heavily to the ground without uttering a word.

"Casley!" From a distance, Shu Shuhao, whose keen eyesight spotted the situation, roared and charged over.

Only then did Zu An realize that all the people who had just died—the Twin Gold and Silver Rings, Red Tasseled Spear, Golden Gourd Hammer, and the suicidal soldiers wielding simple broadswords—had "revived." No, not revived, but were moving like zombies. He recalled what Yun Yuqing had mentioned earlier: this person could likely control corpses using something similar to a corpse-gu, so these must be his corpse puppets.

Those corpse puppets, covered in blood and with grotesque faces, charged forward. Zu An frustratingly discovered that although these corpse puppets looked similar to zombies, they had surprisingly retained most of their cultivation and skills from when they were alive. That's dishonorable! If he were on a battlefield, wouldn't this guy be invincible?

Just as he was struggling to deal with the corpse puppets, a synchronized sound of hooves suddenly echoed around him, followed by countless Embroidered Uniform Guards leaping over the courtyard walls. Although the corpse puppets were formidable, they were outnumbered. In the face of the well-coordinated Embroidered Uniform Guards, they were quickly subdued one by one.

Shu Shuhao, realizing the situation was dire, immediately leaped to flee, not even bothering with his companion Casley's corpse. But a hand suddenly stretched out in mid-air, seizing him by the neck.

"Cough, cough..." Shu Shuhao struggled desperately, his legs flailing, his hands constantly trying to pry open the large hand on his neck. Unfortunately, the hand was like an iron clamp, unmoving. His face turned purple. Then the large hand twisted, and with a snap, Shu Shuhao's violent struggles abruptly ceased.

"Zhuxie Chixin!" Zu An immediately recognized the figure on the courtyard wall. Indeed, it's good to have a strong organization backing you up; no need to fight these guys to the death by himself.

"Commander Zhuxie!" Zu An walked over with a smile.

To his surprise, Zhuxie Chixin's face was devoid of expression as he pointed at Yun Yuqing nearby and said, "Apprehend this demon remnant!"

"Yes!" The surrounding Embroidered Uniform Guards roared in affirmation, then swarmed towards Yun Yuqing. Their coordination was tight; they quickly surrounded Yun Yuqing, and though she attempted to break through several times, they repelled her every attempt.

Zu An was both shocked and enraged. How did they know Yun Yuqing's demonic identity? She had deliberately refrained from using skills like the Demonic Eye of Heaven since earlier, precisely to avoid exposure. He had no time to think, as Yun Yuqing was already injured. The Embroidered Uniform Guards had many masters among them and were skilled in combined attacks. With so many of them, Yun Yuqing had no time to draw talismans.

He couldn't stand by and watch her perish here. He rushed forward, parrying the Embroidered Uniform Guards' attacks, and while holding Yun Yuqing, moved to a relatively open area. Only then did he hastily say to Zhuxie Chixin, "Lord Zhuxie, isn't there some misunderstanding? She's not a demonic remnant; she's the Consort of Wu."

Now, he could only try to see if he could bluff his way out with this identity.

Zhuxie Chixin snorted. "We have already investigated thoroughly. She is the Consort of Wu, and also a demonic remnant. Lord Zu, do not bring trouble upon yourself."

Zu An's heart sank. This was the worst-case scenario.

Yun Yuqing gently pushed him away. "It's come to this; don't make unnecessary sacrifices for me." After saying this, she calmly walked out, her slender figure facing a large group of fierce Embroidered Uniform Guards.

Zu An's expression shifted uncertainly. He knew that given the current situation, standing by was the most rational course of action. But they had shared intimacy, and she had saved his life twice. How could he simply stand by and do nothing?

He stepped forward, pulling Yun Yuqing back, then took a deep breath and said to Zhuxie Chixin, "Commander Zhuxie, even if she truly is a demon, as Consort all these years, she has not committed any misconduct. Instead, she has always been law-abiding. Why must you relentlessly pursue her simply because of her identity? The Emperor has conquered the world, and in recent years, has strived to win the hearts of all races. There are many demon clans in the capital now, yet the Emperor still shows great magnanimity and benevolence, allowing them to coexist harmoniously with humans, doesn't he?"

Zhuxie Chixin said blandly, "Demons are different from regular demon clans, and apprehending the Consort of Wu is an imperial decree. Your recent remarks, Lord Zu, already border on colluding with foreign races. Out of our past acquaintance, this commander can choose not to pursue the matter, but I ask you to step aside."

Zu An fell silent. He felt the entire situation was too strange. How did the Emperor know Yun Yuqing's identity? Could it be that when she used the Demonic Eye of Heaven against the Embroidered Uniform Guards in the Prince of Wu's mansion, some demonic aura was left behind? But how did they know Yun Yuqing was here specifically?

At that moment, Yun Yuqing's vital energy transmitted a message: "A'Zu, thank you, but this matter doesn't concern you. Please don't act impulsively." After saying this, she looked at Zhuxie Chixin, and a brilliant purple glow erupted in her eyes. "I've long heard that Commander Zhuxie is the strongest expert below the Grandmaster rank. Today, I, your humble servant, shall put your skills to the test."
