Chapter 2595: Revisiting Chang'e

Even Xie Daoyun and the other women were surprised. Although Zu'an had already become an immortal, the Demon Lord's strength was comparable to many immortals. It would be understandable if Zu'an had used the Seven-Colored Divine Light to catch the opponent off guard, but why had he severed the Demon Lord's arm in an instant during a direct confrontation?

Among the women, perhaps only Yun Yuqing had some idea. Zu'an had recently fought against too many powerful beings, all of whom were Heavenly Emperor-level figures. His actions now carried an inherent belief in invincibility.

This kind of combat belief and mindset wasn't mere mysticism. Between two individuals of comparable true strength, if one possessed such a powerful conviction, the outcome would likely be a landslide victory.

Throughout her many years of cultivation, she had seen similar examples.

However, this belief in invincibility couldn't be conjured out of thin air; it had to be accumulated little by little through genuine victories. It was also difficult for others to achieve what Zu'an had done, which was to fight evenly against Heavenly Emperor-level beings despite a significant power disparity. If he didn't cultivate this sense of invincibility, who could?

The Demon Lord, however, was unaware of all this. He couldn't understand why his opponent's strength had suddenly reached such a profound level, despite not having been away for long.

After much thought, he could only surmise that the opponent had indeed reached the legendary Heavenly Realm and had gained a great fortuitous encounter there. His current strength had advanced by leaps and bounds. Recalling how the Lord of Slaughter had been thrown to the ground like a dead dog, the Demon Lord was utterly terrified, realizing that his opponent was far beyond his ability to contend with.

At this thought, he lost all will to resist. Smoke billowed around him, and he unleashed various life-saving trump cards as if they cost him nothing.

When the smoke cleared, he had vanished.

In fact, Zu'an had faintly sensed a spatial fluctuation; the opponent must have used some kind of magic artifact to teleport away.

He didn't stop him, as the Demon Lord could not die in this era.

His gaze was like lightning as he swept his surroundings, his voice booming like thunder: "You have ten days to get out of this world, or every demon will die!"

The number of invading demons was simply too vast. If he were to kill them one by one, not only would it be impossible for him alone, but even if it were, it would drive the demons to a desperate last stand, causing even greater losses to the beings of this world.

Ten days was neither a long nor a short time; it was roughly enough for the demons to leave this world using various large-scale teleportation arrays.

However, they likely wouldn't be able to take back the countless equipment and supplies they had brought. These items would be left behind as war reparations.

Furthermore, these ten days certainly wouldn't be enough for all demons to completely evacuate. The unlucky ones left behind could then be used to appease the anger of the various races in this world.

The demon armies around them were stunned. They had already felt a sense of dread when the Lord of Slaughter was thrown out like a dead dog, but then they saw the Demon Lord's arm severed by a single sword strike, with the Demon Lord having no means of retaliation and instead fleeing immediately!

The morale of the demon army completely collapsed, and they scattered frantically, fleeing into the distance.

Seeing this, Xie Daoyun said with some concern, "Brother Zu, these demons have always respected power but not virtue. Your recent threat might scare them for a short time, but these demons are cruel and cunning. Once they recover, they might not be willing to truly withdraw from this world."

In this world, she was Yu Menbei Qing, the Saintess of the Demon Race, and she had dealt with demons countless times.

Zu'an naturally trusted her judgment. After a moment of thought, he took out the Sun-Shooting Bow. Since the Demon Lord had already fled, there was no fear of him seeing it.

He drew the bow, nocked an arrow, and shot it skyward.

Soon, the arrow descended from the sky like a fiery meteor, landing in the demon military camp.

It was known that a single arrow from the Sun-Shooting Bow could bring down the sun. If he had truly unleashed its full power, this world might not have been able to withstand it, so Zu'an had deliberately held back.

Even so, when the arrow struck the large camp, it was no different from a meteorite hitting the Earth. The entire camp was instantly annihilated, a huge crater appeared in the center of the camp, and the ground turned into flowing magma.

Countless dust and visible sound waves spread in all directions. Any demons fleeing scattered who were slightly too slow instantly turned into a bloody mist.

The remaining few wished they had more legs; they used every ounce of their life's training to run into the distance, completely terrified.

A faint bell-shaped shadow appeared around Zu'an, protecting the women beside him and shielding them from the terrifying aftershocks.

Yun Yuqing and Suo Lunshi had originally planned to seize the opportunity to pursue and kill the remaining demons. They held deep grievances against demons and naturally wouldn't let slip the chance to "beat a drowning dog."

Xie Daoyun quickly stopped them: "Do not pursue a cornered enemy. Furthermore, we need them to spread the news of what happened here so that other demons will completely give up, abandon their conquest of this world, and return to the Demon Realm."

Yun Yuqing and the others suddenly understood: "Sister Xie truly lives up to her title as the Saintess of the Demon Race; you are so thoughtful!"

Xie Daoyun's cheeks flushed slightly, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Watching the once mighty demon camp in the distance turn into a sea of fire, the women were filled with emotion.

Xie Daoyun, in particular, had led the demon race in this world in life-and-death battles against the demons. The suffocating power of the demons was still fresh in her memory. She had never imagined that Brother Zu would resolve it so easily.

"Brother Zu, let's return to the demon race now," Xie Daoyun suggested. "We can inform them about the demons' movements and discuss how to seal the Lord of Slaughter."

Zu'an said gravely, "You all return to the demon race first. I'll leave the preliminary work for sealing the Lord of Slaughter to you. I still need to go to one place."

Xie Daoyun knew about the future arrangements for suppressing the Lord of Slaughter, and with her current mastery of formations, she was already capable of accomplishing all of it.

Sensing the sadness in his eyes, Xie Daoyun's heart trembled. She had a rough idea of where he was going. The women exchanged glances, unwilling to touch upon his sorrow.

After bidding farewell to the women, Zu'an used the Seven-Colored Divine Light to collect the Lord of Slaughter, then flew directly toward the sky.

Watching his disappearing figure, Ji Xiaoxi asked, "Sisters, is Brother Zu going to the Guanghan Palace to find Sister Chang'e?"

"Probably."

"But it's broad daylight now, and the moon isn't out yet?"

"Brother Zu is immensely knowledgeable; he should have a way to find the moon... right?"

Zu'an could indeed find the moon. He soared straight into the clouds, eventually leaving the atmosphere and entering the vast universe.

After becoming an immortal, he could now travel through the void with his physical body, though it was uncertain how far he could go in the vast cosmos.

He looked back at the world he had just left and saw a familiar blue planet.

He thought, "It really is Earth!"

Of course, this Earth now seemed considerably larger than the one he was familiar with in his previous life. Could this be why the spiritual energy was exceptionally abundant?

He cast aside distracting thoughts and quickly located the moon beside Earth.

He quickly flew over and landed on the moon. Everywhere were silent craters, the ground like cement ash, and the entire planet devoid of any life.

His heart sank. There was no Guanghan Palace, and naturally, no Chang'e.
