The momentum of a thousand charging soldiers was truly overwhelming, and even the remaining commanders under the Lord of Slaughter fell into despair. Although the War Priest's military formation summoning had a long wind-up, once successful, his power alone would be enough to crush their side. It seemed only the Lord of Slaughter might have a chance to escape. Everyone else, facing such a massive army, would only be unilaterally slaughtered.
The subordinates of the Demon Lord were all somewhat awed. The War Priest, when fully unleashed, was incredibly powerful. They resolved that if they ever had to fight him, they absolutely could not allow him to deploy this military formation.
Facing the furiously charging army, Zu An had by then recovered his mobility and immediately conjured the Human Emperor Seal. The golden seal spun rapidly into the air, then quickly grew larger, soon resembling a small mountain, and pressed down directly onto the army. With a tremendous crash, the vanguard cavalry was instantly crushed into a pulp by the Human Emperor Seal.
"A human aura?" The Demon Lord frowned. He could even faintly sense an imperial presence emanating from it. He wondered if there was such a powerful human in this world, or even a Human Emperor. However, he quickly dismissed the idea. The imperial aura was not substantial enough, and its connection to the humans of this world was weak, clearly indicating it hadn't received their recognition. Still, this was enough to prove an intricate connection between this mysterious individual and the human race.
"Don't worry," he quickly advised the stunned War Priest, "his seal lacks sufficient power of faith, so its true might isn't unleashed yet." The War Priest regained his composure and chuckled, "I knew it felt a bit odd. So, it's all show and no substance."
As he waved a command flag, several phantom formation masters within the army began casting spells around the gigantic Human Emperor Seal. A layer of dark mist enveloped the Human Emperor Seal, and the ground beneath it turned into black sludge, as if the earth itself had become a swamp. The entire Human Emperor Seal began to sink into the bog.
Zu An sighed inwardly. The Human Emperor Seal truly didn't live up to its name at the moment; it was indeed unable to unleash its full power. Feeling that the Human Emperor Seal was being corrupted and his connection to it was weakening, he dared not delay and quickly recalled it.
The War Priest inwardly lamented the missed opportunity. A few more moments, and he could have erased the divine consciousness from the seal and seized the magical artifact. His formidable strength naturally came with exceptional insight. He could discern the artifact's unique properties; it was still in its nascent stage. Once fully matured, it would likely become a treasure no less powerful than a divine artifact.
With this thought, he no longer held back, immediately pulling out another banner and waving it. Soon, countless more troops converged on Zu An from all directions. Although the vanguard army had suffered significant casualties from that peculiar seal, as long as the military formation remained intact, it could continuously generate more troops. Even ants in great numbers can devour an elephant, let alone his formidable army.
Seeing Zu An surrounded, the Lord of Slaughter hurriedly warned, "You must attack the War Priest himself, otherwise his military formation will be endless." Having finally found a powerful helper, he couldn't allow them to die like this. Unfortunately, he had just been ambushed by the Demon of Distortion and the Lord of Myriad Transformations, was now severely wounded, and enveloped by the Demon Lord's murderous aura, preventing him from going to their aid.
Hearing her father worry about that guy, Salome's eyelids drooped slightly. Her father had no idea how powerful he truly was. He was capable of killing the Demon Lord; how could a mere War Priest trouble him? She was probably the most confident in Zu An in the entire hall. Her only concern was that in this era, without the restrictions of world laws, the Demon Lord and his subordinates were far more powerful than their future counterparts. She wondered if this would lead to any unforeseen changes.
Unperturbed by all the gazes, Zu An, watching the armies charging from all directions, spread his palm. A single drop of murky yellow water, with a faint crimson hidden within its center, appeared in his hand. "Go!" With a casual wave, the drop of Oblivion Water flew out, rapidly transforming into a small stream, then a large river, and finally colossal, surging waves.
The charging armies had no time to dodge, nor did they intend to; with their strength, they could easily traverse mighty rivers. Only the War Priest felt a subtle unease. Looking at the murky yellow water tinged with blood, his heart stirred. Could it be *that* legendary water? He hastily waved his banner, attempting to make the troops dodge. But it was too late. The surging Oblivion Water almost instantly flooded the entire great hall.
His army was swallowed by the immense waves. Many of the imposing phantom soldiers weren't particularly afraid, as they specialized in water-based spells. However, upon contact with the Oblivion Water, their forms suddenly trembled, then all their spells vanished from memory, and everything turned to naught. The entire military formation was annihilated in the blink of an eye. Even the Lord of Slaughter's commanders and many of the Demon Lord's subordinates, unable to evade in time, were affected by the Oblivion Water, immediately becoming dazed, like corpses floating on the water.
"Oblivion River!" The Demon Lord recognized the water's origin. Even with his immense power, he was forced to evade. Seeing this, the other demon generals also scrambled to dodge; they had all heard legends of the Oblivion Water to varying degrees. Salome and Mogad used the opportunity to shield the Lord of Slaughter and bring him to Zu An's side.
The Demon Lord's expression was grim, but he knew that since he had sealed the exit, the Lord of Slaughter couldn't escape for now. However, if the Oblivion Water were allowed to rampage unchecked, there was no telling what unforeseen complications might arise. So he conjured a copper coin, which flew skyward, humming loudly towards the surging Oblivion Water.
Zu An recognized it instantly as the Treasure-Dropping Copper Coin. He was actually quite curious what would happen if he had used his own Treasure-Dropping Copper Coin first. However, considering the course of history, he refrained from such a self-destructive action. Yet, the Demon Lord seemed to misunderstand some details about the Treasure-Dropping Copper Coin. This artifact could only cause acquired magical treasures to drop, having no effect on naturally formed, innate items. And the Oblivion River seemed to be precisely such an innate creation.
Zu An's heart suddenly stirred as he recalled some of Mi Li's previous remarks about time and space. This presented a good opportunity, so he deliberately pretended to be affected by the Treasure-Dropping Copper Coin and voluntarily severed his connection with the Oblivion Water. Without his control, the surging Oblivion Water eventually reverted to its initial liquid drop. Coincidentally, that drop landed right near the War Priest.
The War Priest, with swift hands, immediately swept his sleeve and pocketed the drop of Oblivion Water. At that moment, he almost burst into laughter, marveling at such a grand acquisition. It seemed the Oblivion River from that dangerous secret realm had already been claimed by this mysterious individual, and now it had conveniently fallen into his hands. The other demon generals watched with a mixture of envy and jealousy. Everyone else had suffered heavy losses this time, yet he had stumbled upon such great fortune. Even the Demon Lord cast a somewhat jealous glance at the War Priest. He was quite interested in that drop of Oblivion Water himself, but it had ended up in the other's possession. However, he still needed to maintain unity among these demon generals, so he dared not openly seize it, risking a greater loss for a minor gain.
Salome glared disapprovingly at Zu An, thinking, "How could this guy be so careless as to lose such an important treasure?" The Lord of Slaughter, however, consoled Zu An, "My friend, rest assured. As long as you help me escape successfully, I will find you even more powerful magical artifacts in the future."
Zu An simply smiled faintly. Everything he had done was merely "returning something to its original owner." Only by letting this drop of Oblivion Water fall into the War Priest's hands now could he reclaim it from him in the future, thus completing the time-space loop.
"He no longer has the Oblivion Water. Everyone, attack together! Don't give them any more chances," the Demon Lord said coldly, already launching himself first towards the Lord of Slaughter. The other demon generals rushed towards Zu An, hoping to obtain magical artifacts of the same caliber as the Oblivion Water he had just possessed.
