Chapter 2489: Middle of a Plot

The expressions of the many demons around drastically changed, whether they were from the Lord of Slaughter's side or the Lord of Demons' side.

Those on the Lord of Slaughter's side worried that their master was in danger, and the situation was becoming increasingly unfavorable.

Those on the Lord of Demons' side, however, were shocked. While they knew the Lord of Demons had grown significantly stronger over the years, they never expected him to be so powerful that he could predict the Lord of Slaughter's reactions in advance.

Only Zu An understood. He had fought against the Lord of Demons before and knew that the opponent possessed a special eye technique that allowed him to see his adversaries' weaknesses.

Every time he attacked directly at an opponent's weakness, most enemies would collapse and fall into extreme fear.

No matter how they attacked, their moves were seen through with crystal clarity. A simple move could strike their weakest point. The feeling of being utterly suppressed was such that only those with exceptionally strong wills would not collapse.

The Lord of Slaughter was clearly no ordinary person; he experienced only a moment of shock before immediately reacting. His sharp claws tore through the entire space.

That space collapsed, and the weakness naturally ceased to exist, forcing the Lord of Demons to reluctantly change his move.

The two sides exchanged dozens of blows in an instant, moving with such speed that most of the demons in the hall couldn't keep up.

"I didn't expect you to acquire this legendary eye technique," the Lord of Slaughter's mocking voice rang out, "but do you really think you can defeat me just by seeing my weaknesses?"

"Your Lordship's cultivation is divine," the Lord of Demons said with a smile, "When you make a move, there are very few weaknesses, and your speed is extremely fast. Even if there are weaknesses, they are fleeting, so naturally, you are not afraid of my eye technique." There was not a hint of dejection in his tone.

The Lord of Slaughter snorted. Of course, he knew this eye technique was not easy to deal with, but the recent exchange had already given him confidence.

Although the Lord of Demons had grown strong quickly, he was still slightly inferior. The Lord of Slaughter resolved to risk severe injury to kill him.

Once the ringleader was dead, his subordinates would naturally scatter like monkeys from a fallen tree.

Sensing his aura suddenly surge, Zu An, who was observing in secret, had a thought: it seemed both sides were about to get serious.

Just then, the Lord of Demons' voice rang out: "Your Lordship, to thank you for your cultivation over the years, I have prepared a gift for you."

The Lord of Slaughter's heart tightened, subconsciously thinking the opponent had acquired some powerful magic treasure or poison.

Unexpectedly, a little girl's gasp suddenly came from the doorway: "Daddy!"

"Salamme!" The Lord of Slaughter glanced over and instantly flew into a rage, realizing that several of the Lord of Demons' subordinates were holding his daughter hostage at the entrance.

When the Lord of Demons appeared here with his people, the Lord of Slaughter actually had a premonition, but still held onto a sliver of hope.

After all, Salamme was still just a little girl and posed no threat to the Lord of Demons.

Moreover, she was the universally known princess of the demon world. If the opponent didn't want his act of rebellion to be widely known, he shouldn't openly attack her.

But he never expected the Lord of Demons to be so utterly without scruples.

However, he had always doted on his daughter and absolutely could not stand by and do nothing.

"Release her!"

A roar rang out, making all the demons in the entire hall shiver, as if they were facing an enraged primordial beast.

The commanders holding Salamme hostage bore the brunt, stunned and rooted to the spot by the terrifying sonic wave, instantly losing control of their bodies.

If the Lord of Slaughter hadn't worried about using too much force and harming his daughter, they would likely have already exploded into a mist of blood.

He then seized the opportunity to fly towards them, attempting to rescue his daughter.

But the Lord of Demons wouldn't give him such an opportunity, clinging to him like a shadow.

Although the Lord of Slaughter's strength was slightly superior, a victor could not be determined quickly. The Lord of Demons was now determined to keep him entangled, making it impossible for him to escape.

"Your Lordship, why are you in such a hurry to leave? Do you think so little of me?" the Lord of Demons chuckled sinisterly. "Oh, Your Lordship, why don't you surrender? I promise not to kill you or the little princess, otherwise, I cannot guarantee the little princess's safety."

The Lord of Slaughter was both shocked and enraged. If he ignored the Lord of Demons and rushed to save his daughter, he would most likely be severely wounded, and everything would be over.

But if he didn't go to save her, the opportunity he had painstakingly created would be wasted, and the opponent wouldn't give him such an opportunity again.

Suddenly, another figure rushed towards Salamme.

"Twisted Demon!" The nearby Scorpion King and Ten-Thousand-Legged King recognized the figure and quickly moved to intercept, completely blocking the path forward.

However, the Twisted Demon's body, like a boneless snake, forcibly squeezed through the gap between the two demons.

He then rushed to Salamme's side. The commanders had just woken up from their stiffened state, and before they could fully recover their movements, he directly twisted their necks.

"Princess!" The Twisted Demon picked up Salamme and released her from her restraints.

"Uncle Twisted!" Salamme was clearly very excited.

Just then, the Shadow Demon King not far away also reacted: "You're asking for death!"

He saw light emanate from his eyes, and two beams of light instantly shot onto the Twisted Demon.

The Twisted Demon's body immediately froze, and he stood motionless on the spot.

The Shadow Demon King's ultimate skill — Paralysis Ray!

Just then, a giant corpse sphere rolled towards the Twisted Demon, with countless skulls on it opening their mouths and biting at him.

The Death Controller!

Although the Twisted Demon was affected by the Paralysis Ray, he was, after all, one of the eighteen Great Demon Generals and had his own life-saving abilities.

His entire body twisted again, forcibly avoiding vital points.

However, while he avoided vital points, his left side could not be avoided and was directly engulfed by the giant corpse sphere.

A horrific scream rang out. His left half of his body had simply vanished, his internal organs exposed to the air and slowly writhing. A closer look at his wound showed extremely uneven edges with many teeth marks, as if it had been forcibly bitten off by countless mouths.

The Lord of Slaughter was enraged at the sight. He briefly shook off the Lord of Demons and rushed to the Twisted Demon's side, landing a punch on the Death Controller.

Countless mouths on the Death Controller let out horrific screams, and it was directly blasted into countless flying corpses by this powerful punch.

Of course, there was no hint of joy on his face. The Death Controller was originally composed of countless corpses, and its regenerative power was astonishing. Although his strike had severely wounded it, it would recover soon.

At the same time, a spell struck the Twisted Demon, and his ruined half-body began to regenerate flesh and blood.

"Take Salamme and go!" The Lord of Slaughter blocked in front of the Twisted Demon, meeting the attacks of the approaching Lord of Demons, Shadow Demon King, War Priest, and many other powerful individuals.

"Your Lordship, please escape quickly," the Twisted Demon hastily said. "I will stay behind to cover your retreat. Go and rally the various armies to slay the traitors."

This was indeed the Lord of Slaughter's initial plan, but he still smiled: "How can you cover the retreat? I will..."

He was about to say that it would be easier for him to find an opportunity to escape when his expression suddenly changed, and he slapped directly behind him.

The Twisted Demon spewed blood and flew back, but a sinister, malicious grin appeared on his face as he triumphantly raised the black spike in his hand.

The Lord of Slaughter felt a numbing sensation spread from his lower back throughout his body. His gaze sharply fixed on the Scorpion King in the distance: "Your tail stinger!"

The Scorpion King said with a smile, "Your Lordship, few in all the realms can withstand the poison of my tail stinger. How does it taste?"
