Chapter 2344: Unstoppable Momentum

"Why aren't we moving yet?" Salamay's subordinates had already activated the outer perimeter of the grand formation. Bright blue runic patterns glowed, emanating the light of what was clearly a high-level array.

However, the key to this grand formation remained in Donal's hands. If he didn't act, the array would never fully activate.

"Just a moment longer." Zu An gazed towards the palace, a hint of nervousness in his expression.

"Waiting for what?" Salamay was quite annoyed. This guy had been too disobedient today. If she didn't still need him, she would have turned against him long ago.

"Waiting for people!" Zu An replied calmly.

Salamay's expression changed. Just as she was about to ask another question, waves of spatial fluctuation suddenly spread around them. The air seemed to blur and ripple like water.

Salamay's subordinates gripped their weapons, their hairs standing on end. Their greatest fear was the arrival of the Emperor's Envoys, or even the Demon Lord himself.

The next second, Pei Mianman and the others slowly emerged from the ripples in the void.

Jiang Luofu watched them anxiously one by one. Only when Ji Xiaoxi safely emerged did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.

After emerging from the void, Pei Mianman and the others were somewhat surprised to see so many of Salamay's subordinates, but seeing Zu An standing there immediately put them at ease.

Upon reaching Zu An's side, she winked at him, giving him a look that conveyed, "Mission accomplished."

Zu An shielded the women behind him, then smiled at Salamay. "Since we're going to the new world, I wasn't comfortable leaving them in the palace."

Salamay quickly gestured for her subordinates to put away their weapons. She was genuinely surprised now. "How did you do that?"

The palace was teeming with experts. Even with the Demon Lord gone, it was still a dragon's den and a tiger's lair. How could these weak women have escaped from deep within the palace?

"I made a few small spatial teleportation gadgets," Zu An replied, not elaborating. He had already pulled out an array disc and began to control the entire teleportation formation.

Salamay suddenly felt relieved. Of course, if this guy could create a large formation for world travel, how could he not be able to make short-range teleportation arrays?

However, there were many array masters in the palace, and various restrictions had been set up, so ordinary spatial teleportation wouldn't have worked.

Yet, he managed it!

This proved that his mastery of array formations was even superior to that of the palace's chief array masters, and by quite a margin.

Although she had known Donal was skilled in array formations before, she hadn't expected him to be proficient to this extent.

Could it be because of the "Mysteries of Spatial Transformation" book I gave him?

She had found that ancient text in one of her father's secret treasure hoards years ago, originally believing it to be a powerful tome.

However, her own array masters had studied it for a long time, yet none could understand it. They all thought it was just pretentious nonsense.

Back then, she even worried that her subordinates weren't skilled enough, so she specifically caught a court array master to examine it. But that person still couldn't understand it.

Only then did she completely give up, dismissing it as a deceptive fake book. Otherwise, she wouldn't have given it to Donal so easily last time.

Now, it seemed he had truly comprehended its secrets.

Donal was already known as a genius in array formations, and now, to be able to decipher such an arcane text, he was truly a genius among geniuses.

It seemed her previous assessment of his value was mistaken.

Killing him off like this, once he'd served his purpose, would be a great waste. If he genuinely helped her father, marrying him as a consort in the future might not be out of the question...

Not far away, Pei Mianman cast a wary glance at Salamay. The way that woman was looking at Ah Zu was unsettling.

In fact, it wasn't just her; when had Xie Daoyun, Xiaoxi, or Solon Shi ever looked at Ah Zu "normally"?

After just a day, she even felt that Jiang Luofu's gaze towards Ah Zu seemed a bit strange.

But it had only been one night; surely things hadn't progressed that quickly between them?

No, no, Ah Zu and Jiang Luofu were still busy constructing the spatial teleportation array. They wouldn't have had the time.

Besides, Jiang Luofu was Xiaoxi's aunt. Ah Zu wouldn't be so beastly.

At that moment, the Demon Lord, who was patching up the grand formation in various parts of the dome, seemed to detect an anomaly in the spatial elements. He let out a roar, disregarding the dome repairs, and flew directly towards the True Demon clan's direction.

Feeling the Demon Lord's roar, Salamay and her group turned extremely pale, urgently pressing Zu An, "Hurry!"

Although each of them could be considered powerful in the demon world, they were far too inferior compared to the Demon Lord. Even combined, they would be no match for him. Their only hope was to rescue the Lord of Slaughter and have him fight the Demon Lord.

Some even had occasional doubts: the Lord of Slaughter had been suppressed for so many years; his cultivation speed surely couldn't match that of the Demon Lord, who had access to the world's resources. With one waning and the other waxing, could he truly defeat the Demon Lord?

Zu An's expression was solemn, without a hint of distraction. His fingers moved so quickly on the array disc they left afterimages. Transparent array flags flew from the disc to various nodes around the grand formation. Each time a flag inserted into a node, the surroundings erupted with light, and rings of clear radiance spread outwards.

With Zu An at the center, the entire grand formation resembled countless concentric circles. As he manipulated it, ring after ring of the array lit up in sequence. Clearly, only when the innermost array lit up would the entire teleportation formation be fully activated.

Salamay knew Zu An's speed was already fast enough; she had never seen an array master work so quickly.

However, seeing the Demon Lord rapidly approaching, she realized there wasn't enough time.

At the Demon Lord's speed, he would arrive before the last circle lit up. At that point, all would be lost.

Salamay gritted her teeth, raised her hand, and sent out a bright signal.

Soon, several figures soared into the sky from a distant valley, heading directly towards the Demon Lord.

Zu An couldn't help but take another look. These were strong individuals; even if they were slightly weaker than the Bloodthirsty Croc Ancestor, the difference was minimal.

This Salamay certainly had deep resources, possessing so many masters under her command.

"Seeking death!" A cold snort echoed from the sky. The Demon Lord didn't even need to act. His three-headed monstrous bird, with a casual sweep, crushed the two foremost figures into a bloody mist. Immediately after, its left head sprayed a green gas. A powerful individual, unable to evade, was enveloped by the black gas, letting out a horrific scream, and in the blink of an eye, turned into a skeleton.

Its right head, meanwhile, spewed a stream of black gas, encasing another approaching strong individual. The person's scream abruptly cut off as their entire body dissolved into a puddle of blood.

The remaining strong individuals completely collapsed. Although they had come to intercept with a resolve to die, they hadn't expected their companions to perish so horribly in a single encounter. What was the point of fighting then?

An inexplicable fear filled their bodies. They lost all will to fight and scattered, turning to flee.

At this moment, the monstrous bird's middle head opened its beak wide, which instantly became enormous. A terrifying suction force emanated from its mouth. The fleeing strong individuals, who had flown a considerable distance, found themselves utterly motionless, even being pulled backward. They cried out in terror, "No!"

Soon, one by one, they lost their balance and were directly sucked into the monstrous bird's middle head. The bird then closed its beak, producing a series of teeth-grinding chewing sounds, before tilting its head back and swallowing the flesh and blood within its mouth.

Everyone watching from a distance turned pale. They knew the Demon Lord was powerful, but they hadn't expected him to be powerful to this extent.

These strong individuals didn't even require his personal intervention; they weren't even a match for his mount in a single strike.

Many even wondered if it was too late to back out now. Opposing the Demon Lord was clearly a death sentence.

Salamay watched, trembling all over, filled with both fear and rage. Those were loyal subordinates who had followed her for years.

Apart from the few still by her side, those were her father, the Lord of Slaughter's, most elite and last remaining forces. To think they were slaughtered like chickens by the Demon Lord, and died so miserably...

No, killing chickens was even harder than this.
