Chapter 2203: I Take Revenge for You

"You're back?" Shang Liuyu felt a little dizzy. Suddenly realizing something, her face flushed, and she struggled to get out of his embrace.

Just then, she noticed they were suspended above the nether abyss. She had found the abyss terrifying even from the cliff top, but this close-up experience made every pore on her body tremble. The nether abyss was like the gaping maw of some primeval beast.

Terrified, her body went limp, and she quickly buried her face in Zu An's arms again.

It took her a while to recover. She then chided, "Were you doing that on purpose!"

This guy deliberately stopped here to scare her, forcing her to stay in his embrace.

Yet, for some reason, she wasn't truly angry.

A smile appeared on Zu An's face. "It's rare to see Sister Shang so vulnerable; of course, I had to look a little longer."

Hearing this, Shang Liuyu's usually calm heart suddenly pounded. She opened her mouth as if to speak but ultimately said nothing.

Just then, a cold snort came from above. "Could you two pick a better time for your flirting?"

Jing Teng was quite angry. She had been sleeping soundly, only to be woken up, and after the battle, all the strength she had painstakingly recovered over the past few days was gone.

It would have been fine if she had just woken up to protect Zu An, but she woke up to find a love rival. She had endured until Zu An returned, only for him to flirt with another woman right after he got back?

Rage from Bai Jing Teng: +250, +250, +250...

Rage from Hei Jing Teng: +250, +250, +250...

Shang Liuyu was so embarrassed that she felt like her toes were about to dig out a three-bedroom apartment – wait, she was suspended in mid-air, her feet not touching the ground, so she couldn't dig anything out.

Zu An gave an awkward smile, then flickered onto the cliff, just in time to block the attacks from the two demons opposite them.

The Fear Shadow Demon and the Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor looked exceptionally grim. They had spent so much time and were on the verge of killing Zu An, only for him to successfully awaken and return.

What a heartbreak to fail at the last step!

Fortunately, the woman who seemed to have a split personality appeared to be at her limit, with little fighting power left. Otherwise, in a two-on-two fight, they probably wouldn't stand a chance.

Although their cultivation levels were comparable, after all they had experienced, they inexplicably felt a sense of fear towards this young man, Zu An.

Zu An, however, didn't pay them any mind. Instead, he thanked Jing Teng, "Thanks to your help, otherwise, I might not have kept this physical body."

Shang Liuyu, standing nearby, looked a little downcast, but then she quickly gave a natural smile. Indeed, it was this girl who had come out and saved A'Zu, and even saved her own life. She should be grateful to her.

"So you do remember to thank me," Jing Teng said indifferently. "Then why, after you just woke up, did you not help me first, but instead ran over there to flirt?"

Zu An gave an awkward laugh. "She just jumped down, didn't she? I had to save her first."

"You could have come over after saving her; why stop down there?" Jing Teng was displeased. This guy was openly flirting in front of her; it was outrageous.

"Ahem..." Zu An was stumped for a moment. He couldn't very well say he knew she could still hold on with her strength.

At this point, Jing Teng said, "Never mind. After all, it was her perseverance that protected you for so long these past few days. I merely picked up where she left off."

Although they hadn't spent much time together since she emerged, she could infer the effort and hardship the other person had put in over the past few days.

Shang Liuyu looked at her in surprise. She actually spoke up for her...

This woman was so proud, she didn't want to take any credit.

Zu An smiled, "Sister Shang should indeed be thanked, and you too should be thanked. There's no conflict."

"Sister?" Jing Teng's eyebrow suddenly shot up as she stared at Shang Liuyu. "How old is she to be your 'sister'?"

She herself had lived for countless years, yet she still had to obediently call him 'Brother Zu'. How old was this young girl?

If Zu An called her 'sister,' wouldn't she have to call her 'sister' too?

She could concede on other things, but not this title!

Sensing her suddenly hostile gaze, Shang Liuyu's expression was odd. "I am a little older than him, and he started calling me that when we first met."

"Then I'm old enough to be your grandmoth... *cough*, I still call him 'Big Brother', don't I? Remember to change that title later." Jing Teng thought, *That was close, I almost let it slip*. Although Zu An seemed to have a peculiar fondness for older 'sisters', it probably didn't extend to grandmothers...

Oh, if I had known, I shouldn't have called him 'Brother Zu' just to pretend to be young. It would have been much better if he called me 'sister'.

Zu An blinked, looking a bit bewildered, truly not understanding why the two of them were arguing over such a trivial matter.

Just then, the two demons on the other side couldn't take it anymore. "Are you two done yet? Are we invisible?"

The Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor and the Fear Shadow Demon had just secretly communicated. Although Zu An seemed unfathomable, Shang Liuyu and Jing Teng were now out of fighting power. Later, they could continue their previous strategy: attack where he must defend. They figured this would allow them to seize the initiative on the battlefield.

With two liabilities present, no matter how powerful Zu An was, he would ultimately be defeated on the spot.

The two demons couldn't help but feel a little awkward. For so many years, they had always roamed the world with arrogant pride. When had they ever needed to scheme like this?

And it was only against an aboriginal from a weak world!

One must know, their original strength was far beyond that of earthly immortals!

As they continuously built up their mental fortitude, their confidence gradually returned.

Zu An then finally looked at them. "Oh dear, I really almost forgot about you two."

The Fear Shadow Demon: "..."

The Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor: "..."

We're mighty demon lords, the kind who bring destruction to worlds and make countless beings tremble. And you *forgot* about us?

Can't you show us the respect we deserve?

Rage from the Fear Shadow Demon: +455, +455, +455...

Rage from the Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor: +455, +455, +455...

The Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor suddenly asked, "Where's the Flaying Ghost King?"

"Dead," Zu An replied. There was nothing to hide about that.

Shang Liuyu immediately breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. That guy had killed her brother-in-law and forced her sister to become a true couple with Zu An...

He had been the biggest antagonist in the Dragon Palace recently, and had even mysteriously come here before, always feeling like the biggest variable.

Now that the variable was gone, she could finally relax.

"Dead?" The Fear Shadow Demon frowned. "Isn't he unkillable?"

He knew the characteristics of the undead: after each death, they would return to the netherworld, and after paying a certain price, they would reappear after some time. They were truly troublesome.

"That's just because *you* can't kill him," Zu An said indifferently.

"What do you mean? The special nature of the undead has stumped countless powerhouses in the world. How dare you, a frog at the bottom of a well from a weak world at the edge of the universe, boast so brazenly?" The Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor didn't believe him.

The Fear Shadow Demon, however, was startled, thinking of a possibility: "Did you perhaps acquire something special?"

The Flaying Ghost King had always been pursuing *something*. Now that he had died at the other party's hands, it was clear that the other party had successfully obtained that thing.

"Indeed," Zu An nodded, too lazy to explain to them.

The Fear Shadow Demon suddenly began to tremble all over. How powerful must something be to completely kill the Flaying Ghost King?

"Playing games!" the Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor snorted, then secretly sent a message to the Fear Shadow Demon, "According to our plan, one of us attacks each woman, making that guy divided when he tries to save them."

Immediately, he let out a roar, and his massive body, hundreds of feet long, attacked Shang Liuyu with his crocodile-mouth shears. He was a bit pleased; he had picked the "soft target" first, leaving the Fear Shadow Demon to deal with the tougher Jing Teng. Although she seemed injured and close to collapsing, her cultivation was still there, making her much more dangerous than Shang Liuyu.

Seeing the opponent cunningly attack Shang Liuyu, Zu An's expression darkened. He had seen clearly before how these two, supposedly top-tier powerhouses, resorted to such insidious and shameless tactics.

Seeing the opponent attack, Shang Liuyu grew worried and hastily tried to push Zu An away to prevent him from being restricted in his movements while trying to protect her.

To her surprise, Zu An not only didn't let go but held her even tighter. "Sister Shang, this fellow just bullied you; I'll get revenge for you."

Jing Teng, standing by, twitched an eyebrow. She simply let her Hei Jing Teng personality emerge, who then dramatically made a disgusted face, mouthing, "Ugh?"

However, her expression quickly froze. She saw Zu An draw his sword, and then a brilliant sword light erupted, like a galaxy pouring down from the heavens. What in this world could possibly withstand such terrifying sword energy?

The Bloodthirsty Crocodile Ancestor had initially worn a sinister grin, intending to watch Zu An struggle to cope. The next second, his entire face was etched with horror. The vast, brilliant sword energy surged towards him, and his proud demonic weapon, the crocodile-mouth shears, was shattered in a single clash.

The terrifying sword energy made him feel utterly powerless. He could only glance sideways, hoping that the Fear Shadow Demon's simultaneous attack would force the opponent to defend, giving him a sliver of hope.

However, he realized that the Fear Shadow Demon did not attack Jing Teng simultaneously as agreed. Instead, it had turned and fled, now already a thousand feet away.

That son of a b*tch set me up!
