Chapter 200: I Haven't Had Enough Yet

Mi Li looked down at the long sword in his hand. "I will temporarily reside within the Tai'a Sword."

Zu An was stunned. "The Tai'a Sword can accommodate a person?"

Mi Li rolled her eyes. "A divine weapon like the Tai'a Sword has its own internal space. Of course, it's also thanks to its damaged sword spirit; otherwise, it wouldn't be so easy for me to move in."

"Damaged sword spirit?" Zu An looked puzzled.

Mi Li's expression suggested he was easily surprised. "During a battle years ago, the Tai'a Sword's spirit was wounded, so Ying Zheng stopped using it. But discarding it would have been a great pity, so it was used as the core of a soul-suppressing formation, providing energy to the array. Over thousands of years of constant demand and exploitation, the Tai'a Sword became even more severely damaged. Otherwise, how could someone of your cultivation level possibly control it? Its sword qi would have long since shredded you to pieces."

Zu An finally understood. He had heard how incredibly powerful the Tai'a Sword was, but holding it, he hadn't felt anything particularly extraordinary. So, it was because the sword spirit was damaged; it must now be more like a dead sword, with little more than a residual trace of power and an unparalleled sharp blade.

"First, have your wife release her hand," Mi Li said, feeling speechless. Seeing the sword moving in and out near her chest, even with her strong will, she dared not be distracted for a moment, lest she accidentally lose her life.

Zu An quickly said to Chu Chuyan, "Chuyan, please let go for now. Everything is under control."

Chu Chuyan hesitated for a moment before slowly releasing her left hand.

Mi Li scoffed and mumbled an obscure, profound incantation. Then, a spectral figure resembling Mi Li emerged from Chu Chuyan's body and merged into the Tai'a Sword.

As soon as she entered, the Tai'a Sword hummed softly.

Zu An faintly sensed that something was different than before, though he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.

The moment Mi Li left, Chu Chuyan's body went limp, and she swayed sideways. Startled, Zu An quickly supported her. "What's wrong?"

"I was in control just now. She hasn't fully regained control of her body yet, but she'll be fine soon," Mi Li's voice replied, noticeably weaker than before.

"Hmm, why is your voice so faint?" Zu An asked curiously.

"Nonsense. An ordinary person's soul would disperse the moment it leaves the body. I've left twice in a row; my essence is severely depleted now," Mi Li said resentfully, clearly still bothered by the situation.

Zu An gave an awkward smile, not wanting to provoke her further. He looked at the beautiful woman in his arms. "Wife, how are you feeling?"

Chu Chuyan slowly regained consciousness, her beautiful eyes opening to gaze at him. Suddenly, as if remembering something, her face flushed, and she pushed him away, instead going to help Qiao Xueying up.

Zu An was speechless. Why was she suddenly so distant? She had been perfectly fine when Mi Li was inside her body.

"Stop with the romantic displays," Mi Li coldly reminded him. "Hurry up and purify those vengeful spirits, or if all two hundred thousand of them burst out of the pool, we'll all die together."

"Alright!" Zu An nodded and turned to walk towards the pool.

However, he stopped after only a few steps. He hesitated, then spoke, "Um... how exactly does one purify them?"

Chu Chuyan and Qiao Xueying, standing nearby, also looked at him curiously. He had spoken so confidently just moments ago, and Mi Li had yielded and departed, but now, what he was implying...

"You don't know the art of purification?" Mi Li reacted, asking in disbelief.

Zu An looked a little embarrassed. "I should have known, but Ying Zheng's remnant soul didn't explain it clearly to me at the time..."

She was absolutely furious. To think she had been completely fooled by a junior, resulting in such severe damage to her soul that it would take a long time to recover.

"I'll kill you!"

The Tai'a Sword let out a dragon's roar, then broke free from his hand and relentlessly pursued him, trying to strike him.

Chu Chuyan and Qiao Xueying were speechless.

They finally understood why he had risked agreeing to Mi Li's terms earlier: he had been bluffing.

This guy was truly cunning, able to trick people without batting an eye.

At that moment, Zu An, scrambling for cover, quickly shouted, "We just signed the 'Life and Death Covenant.' Now we live and die together. If you kill me, you die too!"

Hearing his words, the Tai'a Sword stopped mid-air, but it continued to hum and vibrate, indicating Mi Li's immense fury within.

At that moment, she wished she could tear him to shreds, but the thought that their lives were now intertwined filled her with a suffocating sense of powerlessness, making her rage surge.

"How about we leave this place first? After we get through this immediate crisis, you can settle accounts with me slowly later," Zu An tentatively suggested.

Mi Li was silent.

After a long pause, she finally calmed her emotions slightly. "Leave? These vengeful spirits have already seen you and locked onto your aura. They'll pursue you to the ends of the earth. Rather than running, it's better to deal with them now."

"But I don't know any purification techniques," Zu An said, his face looking glum.

"Once you cultivate the Primordial Genesis Scripture to the second layer, you can manipulate primordial energy to purify evil spirits, vengeful spirits, and similar entities in this world," Mi Li said through gritted teeth.

"Second layer?" Zu An looked troubled. "But I've only cultivated to the first layer right now."

Mi Li scoffed coldly. "You've been severely injured and constantly circulating the Primordial Genesis Scripture to heal. I estimate you're almost on the verge of a breakthrough. Continue circulating it now."

"Alright!" Zu An focused entirely on circulating the Primordial Genesis Scripture, feeling his injuries recovering at an incredibly fast pace.

Just then, the Tai'a Sword suddenly hummed and lunged directly at him.

Zu An was fully concentrated on healing; how could he be on guard?

Qiao Xueying and Chu Chuyan had not expected her to act so suddenly. It was too late to stop her as they watched the Tai'a Sword pierce Zu An's body.

"What are you doing!" both women exclaimed in unison, with Chu Chuyan even stepping forward to intervene.

Mi Li's voice already rang out, "To accelerate his breakthrough of the Primordial Genesis Scripture, the terracotta warriors over there are nearly at their limit."

Hearing her words, they looked back and saw the terracotta warriors battling the vengeful spirits. However, more and more spirits were emerging from the pool, while the number of terracotta warriors was steadily decreasing.

"Don't worry, I'm being careful; it won't take his life," Mi Li said, even as she plunged the sword into another part of his body.

Zu An gasped sharply. "You're not taking advantage of this to get revenge, are you?"

"So what if I am? You tricked me so badly, what's a few minor flesh wounds for you?" Mi Li's voice held a hint of satisfaction; her mood had visibly improved after stabbing him a few times.

Zu An was speechless. He didn't expect this woman to admit it so openly.

He had no choice but to accelerate the circulation of the Primordial Genesis Scripture, hoping to break through quickly and avoid further torment from this woman.

A moment later, he suddenly trembled, and his entire being instantly felt lighter as he entered a wondrous state.

He felt as if he had returned to the state he was in at the very beginning of his transmigration: surrounded by chaos, unable to see or feel anything. Forget pain, he couldn't even feel his own limbs.

There was absolute silence around him; not a sound could be heard.

It was also absolute darkness; no matter how hard he tried to open his eyes, he couldn't see a single ray of light.

After a while, a brilliant light suddenly flickered into existence somewhere far away. He couldn't find words to describe its intensity; the brightest thing he had ever seen, the sun, was like a mere firefly's glow compared to it.

That light quickly expanded with astonishing speed. Soon after, the world he was in was no longer dark, and his surroundings were no longer chaotic...

Just as he was trying to see clearly, the light had already spread to his location, and then he instantly woke up.

Was that... the scene of primordial chaos giving way to creation?

Zu An suddenly paused, feeling the air around him sweeter than before. A gentle, ancient primordial energy surged towards him. Whereas before he had to laboriously search for the scarce primordial energy, now it actively approached him without any effort on his part, and the absorption speed was many times faster.

Even Chu Chuyan and Qiao Xueying could see his torn flesh healing at a visible rate.

"Oh, I didn't expect him to break through so quickly. I wasn't finished yet," Mi Li's voice was full of regret, as if she had more fun planned.

Zu An was speechless.

"Tell me how to purify them, quickly!" Zu An said, his face dark.

"Infuse the Tai'a Sword with primordial energy, and stab them; that will purify them," Mi Li replied.

Qiao Xueying, standing nearby, quickly asked, "But the battle over there is so intense. With his cultivation, wouldn't even a stray ripple of combat be enough to kill him?"

Despite her best efforts to belittle Zu An's strength, her concern was evident in her tone.

Mi Li calmly answered, "He holds the Sword of Power, so these terracotta warriors won't attack him. As for the vengeful spirits, the second layer of primordial energy is their natural bane; they won't be able to pose a threat to him."

Only then did Qiao Xueying relax. Chu Chuyan, however, thought more deeply. "But there are two hundred thousand vengeful spirits. If he has to stab them one by one, when will it ever end?"

Mi Li replied, "Don't worry, it will be quick."

Zu An, however, was thinking about another problem. "Although the primordial energy in this underground palace is denser than elsewhere, it still has its limits. Combined with my absorption speed limitations, I'm afraid it won't last long enough to purify two hundred thousand vengeful spirits."

"You can rest assured about that," Mi Li explained. "The vengeful spirits inherently contain a certain amount of primordial energy, so you will be continuously replenished; there will be no moment when it runs out. At the same time, you can also use the scattered primordial energy to properly heal your injuries. Keep in mind that with your current injuries, anyone else would have died ten times over with energy left to spare."

Zu An nodded. This was all thanks to the Rich Madam's Pleasure Orb holding him up. Now, calculating the time, its effect was about to wear off. He still remembered the agonizing pain from the severe injuries he sustained after the Pleasure Orb's effect wore off when he was struck by the Wail of Misery. He didn't want to experience that again, so he had to quickly recover his injuries as much as possible.

Thus, he strode purposefully towards the edge of the pool with the Tai'a Sword in hand. As if sensing the Tai'a Sword's presence, the terracotta warriors along the way moved aside, and he quickly reached the front line of the battle.

Feeling the presence of living beings, the vengeful spirits battling the terracotta warriors screamed and rushed towards him like sharks sensing blood in the ocean.
