Almost every man in the world desires as many women as possible, with one exception: when those women meet.
Although no one said anything, the silent clashes of their gazes were enough to stage countless dramas.
"Master!" Qiu Honglei's call finally broke the tension. While slightly annoyed by Xie Daoyun's arrival, she still felt a surge of affection upon seeing her master. Although her master was theoretically powerful and beyond danger, this secret realm was simply too bizarre, with an endless stream of malevolent spirits and a vast expanse, raising fears that her master might not be able to return.
Hearing her disciple's call, Yun Jianyue (Cloud Between Moon) showed a faint smile. Indeed, this was the disciple she had personally nurtured, far more pleasing to the eye than those alluring hussies.
Sun En, standing beside her, looked slightly surprised. "So you know each other? That simplifies matters," he remarked.
Zu An and the others regarded him with confusion, wondering about his identity.
Yun Jianyue, concerned they might suffer a great loss unaware of the situation, quickly warned them: "This is Grandmaster Sun, leader of the Divine Firmament Sect. His power is among the world's absolute top, no less than Zhao Hao's."
Zu An immediately realized who he was. Jing Teng had mentioned her enemies in this world, and Sun En was one of them—a top expert in this world. He hadn't expected to meet him under these circumstances. A quick glance allowed him to surmise that Yun Jianyue and Xie Daoyun were being held captive.
Just then, another voice spoke: "An immortal's aura was present here moments ago. The Grandmaster wishes to know what occurred."
Zu An frowned, looking at the old man beside Sun En. "And who might you be?" he asked.
The old man proudly declared: "I am the Patriarch of the Wang family, Wang Youjun." The Wang family required no further description; in this world, its mere mention clarified which family was being referred to. He paused after speaking, expecting gasps of astonishment.
To his surprise, after a prolonged silence, he saw the others exchange confused glances:
"Have you heard of him?"
"No, probably not anyone famous."
They weren't lying. Firstly, they were from another world and had limited knowledge of this one. Secondly, the figures they knew were either ghost kings or on the level of Sun En and Zang Ao. While the Wang family was powerful, it couldn't compare to those three.
Wang Youjun was incensed, thinking that if the Grandmaster hadn't been present, he would have taught them a harsh lesson to soothe his burning resentment. Accustomed to his high position, he had recently been deferential to Sun En, bottling up significant frustration. He had intended to display his prestige, only to receive such a result.
Wang Youjun's rage value: 444,444,444…
Sun En then halted Wang Youjun's impulse, turning instead to Yun Jianyue and Xie Daoyun. "Since they are your friends," he said, "I will let you two handle this, so as not to damage our good relations."
The two women felt a chill. Despite his polite words, there was an underlying hint of threat.
Xie Daoyun then said, "Brother Zu, please tell Grandmaster Sun what just occurred and where that immortal went." In her view, it was nothing major; conversely, angering Sun En would put Brother Zu and his companions in grave danger.
As Zu An was about to respond to her gentle plea, Jing Teng's voice suddenly rang out: "Don't tell him!"
Zu An froze, finding himself in a difficult spot, caught between speaking and remaining silent. Damn it, having too many women truly is a hassle. Huh, wait. Miss Jing and I aren't even involved. Why should I feel guilty?
Xie Daoyun was startled, looking at Jing Teng. Who was this beautiful woman? And how could she make such a direct demand of Brother Zu? Their relationship was clearly out of the ordinary. The thought that she herself wouldn't dare command Zu An made her heart ache.
Yun Jianyue also squinted at Jing Teng, wondering, "Where did another vixen appear around Zu An? How is it that I don't know her at all? His female disciple and the large-breasted woman are both here; how could they allow him to flirt around like this? And Honglei has been with him all along. Are these girls useless?"
"Grandmaster, allow your subordinate to teach these arrogant individuals a lesson." Wang Youjun was still fuming from the earlier incident and eager for an outlet for his frustration.
To everyone's surprise, Sun En raised a hand to halt him. Looking at the young woman in the distance, a complicated expression flickered in his eyes. "So it is Miss Jing," he said. "Decades have passed, but your charm remains as ever."
At these words, everyone present was astonished. Wang Youjun never imagined the young woman opposite them was an old acquaintance of the Grandmaster; all his resentment instantly evaporated. Qiu Honglei and Zu An, already aware, were less surprised. But Chu Chuyan and Pei Mianman stared at Jing Teng in astonishment, never imagining that this delicate-looking young woman had known Sun En decades ago.
"Has Zu's taste become so peculiar? Does he prefer older women?"
Yun Jianyue, who had been full of hostility towards Jing Teng, now looked at her in a new light upon hearing this. "Huh, she's actually like me! I should find an opportunity to ask her how she maintains her appearance; despite her age, she exudes a youthful aura from head to toe." While Yun Jianyue was beautiful and captivating, her experience and age were undeniable; her inherent mature charm was pervasive. Anyone who saw her would invariably think of terms like "mature woman," making it almost impossible for her to exude such a youthful aura.
Jing Teng snorted coldly. "This is all thanks to the Grandmaster!" she retorted.
Sun En merely smiled, unfazed. "Humans and demons walk different paths," he said. "Back then, I only did what I had to. Ultimately, the entire affair was due to that person's faithlessness and inability to withstand temptation. How does that involve me?"
Just then, a soft sigh drifted in. "Grandmaster Sun speaks lightly," a voice said, "yet he places all the blame on me. If you hadn't instigated me back then, how would I have committed such a grave mistake?"
As he spoke, a graceful middle-aged man walked in, followed by four attendants. Each moved with a powerful stride and profound presence, clearly master practitioners.
"Zang Ao!" Qiu Honglei recognized him. She had met him once before at Jing Teng's old residence.
Zu An, however, stared intently behind Zang Ao, but he couldn't see the familiar white figure. His heart sank. "Where's Yan Xuehen?" he wondered. She had mentioned investigating a maximum-level kill order against him issued at the Adventurers' Guild, finding the matter highly suspicious. Why was she nowhere to be seen now? Could something have happened?
At this moment, Sun En stared coldly at Zang Ao. "You, Zang," he said, "you've arrived at a perfect time. I was terribly wronged by you back then."
Zang Ao appeared bewildered. "Speaking of being wronged," he countered, "you were the one who wronged me, weren't you? I haven't even complained yet."
Sun En sneered. "You, Zang, don't pretend to be innocent here," he said. "If you hadn't set a trap back then, how could I have failed my tribulation? If I hadn't been careful in advance, I would probably have been annihilated by now."
Yun Jianyue and Xie Daoyun exchanged glances, thinking, "No wonder Sun En 'fell' on that isolated island overseas and only revived upon the arrival of the Wang family's fleet."
Zu An and his group pondered the meaning of "tribulation," wondering if this person was not just one step away from becoming an immortal.
Zang Ao shook his head. "I don't understand what you're saying," he replied. "I suppose there's some misunderstanding."
Sun En continued to sneer, saying nothing more. He was currently weighing whether to seek revenge first or to obtain information about the immortal.
"My character and appearance are thousands of times better than yours. If you truly feel apologetic towards me, then please disappear from our sight as soon as possible."
Seeing her unreservedly loop Zu An's arm affectionately into her surging bosom, Chu Chuyan, Pei Mianman, and Yun Jianyue and Xie Daoyun in the distance, all stared wide-eyed.
Does this woman have no shame?
So, Zu and she are truly together?
Chu Chuyan's rage value: 233,233,233…Pei Mianman's rage value: 233,233,233…Yun Jianyue's rage value: 233,233,233…Xie Daoyun's rage value: 233,233,233…
Qiu Honglei, however, almost burst out laughing. Earlier, she had been furious herself seeing this scene, so such "good news" naturally had to be shared with her sisters. Hmph, just now I had to watch my husband... now you all can properly experience how I felt. But why does Master also seem somewhat angry?
Zu An's scalp tingled. He instinctively wanted to withdraw his hand, but Jing Teng held on tightly, her soft body taking the opportunity to nestle into his embrace, like a clinging bird. Knowing this was when she most needed protection, he finally sighed inwardly, tacitly accepting her actions for now.
Sun En's previously stern face now showed a hint of oddness. He instructed Wang Youjun nearby: "Little Wang, bring out the melon we bought earlier and cut it. Everyone gets a piece."
