Yu the Great gazed at the surging floodwaters, his eyes hardening. "For your own selfish ends, you would mobilize rivers and lakes within a thousand-mile radius, unleash another great flood, and turn the world into a swamp?"
"Pah!" Gonggong seemed agitated. "After all these years, you still can't shed that hypocritical facade. Once I destroy you, these floods will naturally recede."
Yu the Great said coldly, "Countless innocent lives will be lost this way."
Zu An nodded inwardly. This Gonggong truly embodied the archetype of a villain, wantonly slaughtering the innocent. In stark contrast, Yu the Great's demeanor was deeply admirable.
Gonggong let out a chilling sneer. "Innocent lives? If you truly care for the world's people, you might as well die by my hand sooner. That way, the common folk can be saved all the more quickly."
Yu the Great was speechless.
"What, unwilling?" Gonggong spat. "When it comes down to it, what are the world's people compared to your own life? They're merely a pretense you use to win over hearts. Ultimately, you're no different from me; I simply disdain pretense."
Zu An was dumbfounded. This fellow's logic was surprisingly rigorous, leaving him at a loss for how to retort.
Yun Jianyue couldn't help but nod slightly, even feeling a sense of kinship. She had felt the same way during her years of conflict with Yan Xuehen; the latter always managed to occupy the moral high ground, leading everyone to consider her a fairy while viewing Yun Jianyue as a demoness.
Yu the Great looked at Gonggong with an indifferent expression. "After being sealed for so many years, is all you can do now just talk?"
Clearly, he remained completely unaffected by Gonggong's rhetoric.
Gonggong flew into a rage. "Indeed, a complete hypocrite! Today, I shall utterly destroy you."
As if sensing his rage, the surrounding floodwaters immediately surged. However, before long, the water level began to drop rapidly.
Yu Yanluo couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Could Yu the Great have used some divine ability to disperse these floods?"
"I don't think so. I can feel a sense of impending doom, like dark clouds pressing down on a city about to collapse." Yan Xuehen shook her head.
Yun Jianyue agreed, sensing that Gonggong was indeed preparing a powerful attack.
As the water level rapidly receded, the water bubble formed by Zu An's Blue Drake power could no longer maintain stability. He quickly activated his Wind Fire Wheels, taking the three women to a distant mountain peak.
He had no time to appreciate the beautiful women around him. Instead, he quickly stated, "These waters are rapidly receding; I expect they're forming an immense wave."
Possessing the Blue Drake's abilities, he was highly attuned to water elements. He sensitively detected the water gathering in one direction and suddenly recalled his previous encounter in the Weak Water.
As expected, no sooner had he spoken than a white line suddenly appeared on the horizon.
However, the onlookers were all top experts and quickly discerned that it was no mere white line but clearly an enormous wave.
As it surged towards them, the wave crest grew higher and higher, seemingly reaching for the sky. The tsunamis in *Interstellar* would be child's play compared to this.
Even from a distance, Zu An and the others felt a terrifying pressure, their expressions changing instantly. If this enormous wave crashed down, not only would they be pulverized, but even the entire mountain beneath their feet would likely be reduced to dust.
Zu An had a similar experience in the Weak Water previously, but those were mostly illusions caused by the Weak Water, not actual terrifying giant waves.
This move by Gonggong, however, had gathered all the rivers and lakes within a thousand-mile radius, creating a volume of water immeasurably greater than that of the Weak Water.
This was truly a case of collateral damage; they wanted to hide, but with such an immense wave, there was simply nowhere to go.
Just then, Yu the Great moved. He casually scattered some soil, causing Yun Jianyue's eyes to widen in disbelief. "That's it? He doesn't actually think this small amount of soil can block that immense wave, does he?"
That small amount of soil felt as if it could be washed away by a mere cup of water, let alone such a colossal wave.
But to everyone's surprise, that seemingly small handful of yellow earth, upon touching the ground, grew rapidly against the wind, quickly forming a massive dam.
The dam grew as high as the enormous wave.
Gonggong's eyes narrowed. He exclaimed in surprise, "Xirang? You still possess that!"
Yu the Great said calmly, "Originally, flood control could be achieved simply by drainage. But you constantly break rules and cause chaos with your divine power, so naturally, a corresponding object is needed to restrain you."
"You're ruthless!" Gonggong said through gritted teeth. With a casual wave of his hand, the colossal wave collapsed, reforming into surging floodwaters.
"What exactly is Xirang? Why did Gonggong give up without even trying, just by hearing its name?" Yan Xuehen asked, puzzled.
Zu An explained, "Xirang is said to be a treasure from the Celestial Court, an endlessly self-generating and infinitely expanding soil. There's a theory that Gun was executed not for failing to control the floods, but for stealing the Xirang. The fact that Yu, Gun's son, possesses Xirang suggests this legend might indeed be true."
The three women beside him listened, their beautiful eyes gleaming with wonder at the existence of such a miraculous item in the world.
Given its properties, it completely countered Gonggong's floods. No wonder he didn't even try to fight it.
Yun Jianyue couldn't help but stare at Zu An. "Little An, why do you know so much about ancient times? We haven't even heard of these things."
Yan Xuehen and Yu Yanluo nodded in strong agreement. Especially in this secret realm, of which they knew nothing, he seemed to belong to this world.
Zu An smiled. "I know many more things. We can have a long talk by candlelight sometime, and I'll tell you all about it."
"Alright," Yu Yanluo replied, somewhat nonchalant. Yun Jianyue and Yan Xuehen, however, subconsciously agreed before realizing the implication. Simultaneously, they pinched the soft flesh on his waist. "You little rascal, you even dare to take liberties with us!"
While they were playfully bickering, new developments occurred on the battlefield. Gonggong was seen standing atop a water pillar, chanting something as if summoning a force.
Soon, whirlpools appeared on the water's surface, followed by countless gigantic water spouts beginning to form.
Wherever these water spouts passed, even entire mountain peaks were directly destroyed.
Witnessing this scene, Zu An inwardly groaned. This was truly a battle of deities, and even a slight ripple of their power would be enough to overwhelm bystanders like them.
"Since you rely so much on the power of faith, I shall first sever your source of faith!" Gonggong sneered.
Clearly, he intended to destroy the ordinary beings of this world, thereby cutting off Yu the Great's source of faith and weakening his power.
Yu the Great then raised a hand, and a gigantic cauldron appeared before him, which then split into nine slightly smaller cauldrons.
Although referred to as smaller, each was, in fact, as large as a mountaintop.
Yu the Great slowly declared, "Yu forged the Nine Cauldrons: five to align with Yang principles, and four to embody Yin numbers. Female metal forms the Yin cauldrons, and male metal forms the Yang cauldrons, all to suppress the world!"
No sooner had he spoken than the nine cauldrons transformed into nine streaks of light, flying in nine directions and falling simultaneously like meteors. As a tremendous roar echoed, the entire world seemed to gain a sense of profound stability, and the earth elements became extremely active.
The effect was almost instantaneous: the rampant water spouts suddenly seemed to lose their core, dissipating one by one. The immense floods also gradually receded, and the land was revealed once more.
The three women simultaneously exclaimed, "Yu the Great's move is truly remarkable!"
Zu An, however, felt immense heartache. "Those appear to be my Nine Cauldrons!"
