Chapter 1450: Godlike Battle Causes Collateral Damage

The Demon Emperor’s face darkened, and he reached out directly to seize the red light.

As he raised his hand, it rapidly expanded, seeming to blot out the sky, and directly blocked the red light.

Although it wasn’t Wu Liang’s first time witnessing the Demon Emperor in action, he was still amazed. The Demon Emperor’s move was simply divine.

The large hand immediately grabbed the red light. A smile appeared on the Demon Emperor’s face as he prepared to retrieve the Sun-Shooting Bow.

To his surprise, his expression froze. The red light passed directly through his palm, quickly transforming into a speck of light that vanished in the distance.

The Demon Emperor looked down at his palm; it was completely unharmed!

This was truly beyond his comprehension. If the opponent had been too powerful for him to contend with, allowing the Sun-Shooting Bow to escape his grasp, his hand would certainly have been injured.

Yet, there was nothing. The Sun-Shooting Bow seemed to exist in a void, completely beyond his reach.

“Father Emperor, chase it!” the Golden Crow Prince urged anxiously. This was his greatest reliance; in previous years, the invincible Sun-Shooting Bow had given him immense confidence against peers. If he lost it, he might not be able to defeat his formidable second brother.

Seeing his father standing motionless as if in a daze, he quickly pressed him. With his father’s abilities, even if the Sun-Shooting Bow flew to the ends of the sky, retrieving it wouldn’t be difficult.

“Chase what, you fool!” To his surprise, the Demon Emperor erupted in rage, slapping the back of his head. Fortunately, it wasn’t a forceful blow, or there would likely be no Golden Crow Prince left in the world.

“Father Emperor, what’s wrong?” The Golden Crow Prince was startled and angry, but unable to resist, he could only look at his father with a wronged expression.

“Do you think the Sun-Shooting Bow would suddenly leave on its own?” The Demon Emperor asked, gazing at the direction where the bow had vanished, his eyes filled with an unreadable complexity.

“Of course not,” the Golden Crow Prince immediately replied. The Sun-Shooting Bow was a treasure passed down through generations of the Demon Imperial family and had recognized him as its master. How could it flee on its own?

“Exactly. Someone used a divine ability to take the Sun-Shooting Bow,” the Demon Emperor paused, his voice tinged with both fear and excitement. “Their cultivation is above mine, on a level I completely cannot comprehend.”

“What?” The Golden Crow Prince was dumbfounded.

Wu Liang was also stunned. Was there someone more powerful than the Demon Emperor in this world?

And judging by the Demon Emperor’s tone, there seemed to be quite a significant gap between him and the other party.

“Oh no, oh no,” Wu Liang thought. “What kind of cursed secret realm is this? Will I even make it out alive?”

However, after his initial shock, the Demon Emperor’s heart was now filled with ecstasy. There truly was a higher level of power in this world, proving that his path continued. “Hahahaha…”

As one of the two most powerful beings in the current era, the Demon Emperor had experienced confusion over the years. Countless times, he had felt his cultivation path had reached its end, with no possibility of further improvement.

Ancient texts from the cultivation world, spanning millennia, also indicated that humans could not break through his current realm.

Countless prodigies had wondered, “Are there truly immortals in this world?” He was, naturally, no exception.

But now he had experienced it firsthand. Even if he were to leave immediately, that brief moment of contact had given him immense insight. Given time, he was confident he could even completely surpass Zhao Hao.

If he could get even closer to that power, he might truly become the legendary immortal.

“Could it be because I just broke the Chaos’s seal?” the Demon Emperor murmured to himself.

Hearing this, Wu Liang quickly advised, “Your Majesty, when we previously unsealed the Gluttony and Chaos, it resulted in ten suns appearing in the sky and terrifying auras emerging. If we unseal Qiongqi as well, and all four seals are completely broken, who knows what calamity it might bring? I implore Your Majesty to reconsider.”

The Demon Emperor ignored him, instead directly asking Dan Zhu’s soul, “Where is Qiongqi’s seal?”

He had previously been wary of it, fearing Dan Zhu might play some trick. He had initially intended to see how things developed after breaking three layers of seals, but after experiencing that higher-level power, he no longer cared about such concerns.

As a cultivator who had reached his current level, he had spent his entire life striving to take that final step. Now that he had an opportunity, and knowing his life was short, he disregarded all dangers and resolutely decided to proceed.

Wu Liang’s face turned pale. He thought, “If you’re determined to seek death, could you at least let me leave first?”

However, he dared not voice these thoughts. Speaking them would mean immediate death; following along would at least allow him to live a little longer.

Soon, Dan Zhu revealed the location of Qiongqi’s seal. With resolute eyes, the Demon Emperor led the group towards it.

The Golden Crow Prince kept looking back, extremely reluctant to let go of the divine artifact, the Scorching Sun Bow. Unfortunately, if even his father couldn’t do anything, he was even more helpless, and could only follow his father with a dejected spirit.

On the other side, a group of people watched, wide-eyed, as the red light descended and hovered before Zu An. Everyone could now clearly see it was a red bow.

Yan Xuehen and the others found it somewhat familiar. They had seen the Golden Crow Prince use it in the Snake Tribe before; it seemed to be the Sun-Shooting Bow.

However, its appearance seemed slightly different, though they couldn’t pinpoint exactly how. Zu An, in a daze, reached out his hand. The red light gradually faded, and the solid feel in his grip told him this wasn’t a dream.

A uniquely shaped red bow appeared in his hand. At the same time, ten white feathered arrows materialized beside it. Each arrow bore extremely ancient and profound patterns, which, upon closer inspection, seemed to merge into the arrow shaft itself.

A powerful aura emanated from them, seemingly resonating with the heavens and earth.

This was the sensation of a divine artifact.

At that moment, the golden light in the sky dispersed, the ethereal music ceased, and everything returned to normal, as if nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, in the distant Goddess Peak, a graceful figure cast a deep gaze at Zu An before turning and returning into the mountain.

The Ten Witches of Spirit Mountain now surrounded Zu An, their faces filled with shock as they exclaimed, “Why would the Heavenly Emperor give this to you?”

Their gazes made it seem as if Zu An were the Heavenly Emperor’s illegitimate son.

Zu An was also bewildered. He hadn’t expected to acquire a divine artifact so easily, and from the Heavenly Emperor, no less?

He suddenly recalled Shun’s earlier words: that by retracing Yi’s heroic journey, one could gain the recognition of the Will of Heaven and Earth and receive divine artifact assistance. Could this be what he meant?

It made sense. Given the current disparity between his strength and that of the ten Golden Crows in the sky, he couldn’t possibly deal with them.

Therefore, this was destined to be an absolutely impossible task.

However, with the addition of the divine Sun-Shooting Bow, he now had a fighting chance.

A thought sparked in his mind: “Which Heavenly Emperor was that just now?”

“That aura, it seemed to be Heavenly Emperor Zhuanxu,” the Ten Witches of Spirit Mountain discussed among themselves, quickly reaching a consensus.

Zu An was startled. Zhuanxu?

He had always thought Hou Yi’s Sun-Shooting Bow was given by Emperor Jun, not Zhuanxu.

Considering the Ten Witches of Spirit Mountain’s earlier mention of the rift between Zhuanxu and Emperor Jun, Zhuanxu giving him the Sun-Shooting Bow now clearly meant he intended to deal a severe blow to the ten Golden Crows.

“If immortals are fighting, wouldn’t I get caught in the crossfire as collateral damage?”

He thought, “If I kill Emperor Jun’s sons, wouldn’t Emperor Jun absolutely hate me?”

“As the Heavenly Emperor, he could kill me with a single thought.”
