Chapter 991: Each One's Puzzle

The two young mermaids stared at each other, wide-eyed and dumbfounded. Neither of them had imagined that these zombies possessed such terrifying instincts.

Liszt chuckled, "Don't panic, girls! Watch this!"

The next moment, Liszt, with the hand holding his cigar, gently twisted the ring on his middle finger.

Soon, an eerie deep green light rapidly materialized behind Liszt. One after another, the outlines of spectral beings emerged.

The number of spectral beings that could be released depended entirely on the strength of Liszt's mental power.

Before long, the number of spectral beings standing behind Liszt was several times greater than that of the zombies before them.

Although the individual spectral beings were not necessarily stronger than the zombies, as the saying goes, a fierce tiger cannot defeat a pack of wolves. Furthermore, the life forms of spectral beings are extremely unique. Even if they were to fall in battle, Liszt could summon more of them once he recovered enough mental energy. This was akin to pitting infinite energy against finite energy, allowing Liszt to become almost invincible.

As long as the opponent's strength did not exceed Liszt's defensive capacity, reaching the peak of the blue-level, or even his own level, Liszt would not face collapse.

What kind of sparks would fly from a confrontation between zombies and spectral beings?

In the very next moment, the scene unfolding on the battlefield provided Liszt and his companions with the answer.

Although the spectral beings' attack power was not particularly strong, their speed was remarkably high.

Moreover, their sheer numbers meant that almost five or six spectral beings would swarm and entangle each zombie. This overwhelming numerical advantage quickly exerted immense pressure on the zombie horde.

"Hahaha! Well done! Spectral warriors, hit them hard! Make them understand that the glory of the spectral race is not something these lousy zombies can defile!"

In his excitement, Liszt, cigar still in his mouth, started dancing disco behind them, looking completely relaxed. This carefree demeanor earned him disdainful glances from the two mermaid sisters beside him.

"Please, Master, could you focus a bit? This is a life-or-death situation!"

"Hehe, don't worry, don't worry! We'll face many more powerful opponents in the future. If your master can't even handle a few zombies, I'd probably be kicked out of the Glory Squad sooner or later..."

It must be said, Liszt's mindset was quite good.

Although the current situation was somewhat tricky, it ultimately didn't threaten his survival.

In contrast, Guglass was not so comfortable.

Perhaps it was greatly linked to his thoughts when he entered the Void Gate.

When he regained his senses, he found himself, surprisingly, in the archives of this mysterious legion.

"Ah, hahaha! I'm not dreaming, am I?! Such a good thing actually happened?"

Looking at the stacks of ancient books neatly arranged in cabinets before him, Guglass was slowly overcome with shock and excitement, almost drooling.

Just as he was about to make up for his mental nourishment, he discovered two incredibly powerful energy fluctuations behind him, seemingly having been there for an unknown period.

Whipping his head around, Guglass was startled to see two minotaur warriors, over two meters tall, staring at him with eerie gazes, having been there for who knew how long.

Perhaps Guglass had been spotted by these two giants the moment he arrived.

"Hehe, Minotaur brothers, let's talk this over."

Guglass immediately backed down, but to his dismay, the two minotaur warriors behind him each lifted a hand and effortlessly picked him up, all two hundred pounds of him, as if he were a dead mouse.

Then, carrying his bulky body on their shoulders, they quickly moved deeper into the intelligence room. "Let me go! Let me go right now! Do you know who I am?! I'm the absolute boss of the reconnaissance division of the Glory Squad! How dare you be so insolent with me!"

Guglass felt a deep sense of despair, realizing that these two massive minotaurs restraining him possessed unimaginably terrifying strength.

No matter how he struggled or even tried to unleash sharp attacks, he could not break free from the giants' grasp.

No matter how much Guglass struggled, the two figures remained silent.

Like mere tools, they dragged Guglass into the deepest part of the intelligence vault—a small dark room—and roughly threw him inside as if he were trash.

Then, with a loud *thud*, a massive stone-and-metal glowing door materialized out of thin air, imbued with the powerful aura of a sealing array, trapping Guglass inside.

"Damn it! I knew that Vortex Goro guy was unreliable! He finally managed to create a Void Eye teleportation gate, and it doesn't even have a positioning function! This is outrageous! Now who knows how long I'll be stuck here!"

However, Guglass soon received his own surprise—though it might as well have been a nightmare.

Just as he stood alone, bewildered by the dark walls surrounding him, the portal opened again with a *whoosh*. A strikingly beautiful and fiery woman stepped into his view.

Guglass was stunned. He genuinely hadn't expected such a perk in his current predicament. He couldn't help but swallow, then forcibly shook his head.

"Y-y-you... are you here to offer a perk?!"

The woman suddenly flashed a disarmingly charming smile. "What else would I be here for?"

With a loud *creak*, the door behind the woman suddenly swung shut.

However, at that very moment, Guglass felt the air in the room suddenly turn bone-chillingly cold.

As the woman slowly approached him, Guglass felt an unimaginable, terrifying pressure. Yet, that was not the most terrifying part.

When the woman reached Guglass, an immensely powerful devouring force suddenly condensed in her palm. This devouring force was so potent that it made one's spirit tremble repeatedly.

"You're quite a jovial-looking fellow, little fatty. But unfortunately, any visitor who dares to target our Demon Naval Legion will face the harshest repercussions. Of course, Big Sister here will be a bit gentler with you, because I want to know exactly what's inside that big, plump head of yours at this very moment."

The next moment, the woman placed a hand on Guglass's head.

An icy, bone-piercing sensation quickly emerged. Immediately after, Guglass felt his subjective consciousness rapidly waning.
