Chapter 527: Sea Adventure

A journey at sea inevitably includes both calm and tumultuous days.

In the blink of an eye, Xu Yang's team had been adrift on the vast ocean for over half a month. Their general direction seemed correct, as before setting sail, the formidable Xu Yang had used special methods to access the memory fragments of several experienced sailors. After confirming this was indeed the path to the Iceberg Ruins, they had hoisted their sails and set off towards their destination.

"My heavens, it's already been half a month!" Long Kun exclaimed. "Boss, when will we finally see the outline of the Iceberg Ruins? Didn't you say it was a lost continental plate? Are you sure we'll find our destination, or are we just wasting our time here?"

Although Long Kun's strength had significantly increased, making him a true top-tier expert on this continent, his temperament still lagged behind that of top figures like Xu Yang. He still needed more experience for truly comprehensive, all-round growth.

Only half a month had passed, which was but a drop in the ocean compared to Xu Yang's lifespan of tens of thousands of years. Yet, Long Kun's patience was already wearing thin.

Ultimately, he couldn't be blamed. After all, his growth trajectory was different from others; he was naturally not someone who could endure loneliness.

"Don't be impatient," Ling Yao calmly replied. "If it were that easy to find, the Iceberg Ruins would have been discovered by others long ago, and it wouldn't be so mysterious."

Ling Yao, by her side, appeared exceptionally calm. Her sword cultivation was excellent for training one's temperament, and in this regard, she was several levels ahead of Long Kun.

"I, for one, think we should just keep going; we won't go wrong," Ling Yao continued. "If the Iceberg Ruins truly still exist, they wouldn't have completely vanished from the sea. After all, didn't the Reincarnation Ancient Tree mention that the Angel Soul Pillar Master is not dead? Unless he also failed to find the Iceberg Ruins, his decades of silence prove that this place must still exist."

Long Kun and Ling Yao then engaged in a brief discussion on the matter. Although it yielded no substantial results, it served as a way to pass the time.

Shi Lingyun continued to pluck her zither strings. Only by immersing herself in the world of music could she temporarily forget the bitterness and sorrow in her heart, allowing her mind to become peaceful.

Meanwhile, the formidable Xu Yang remained calmly standing on the deck, gazing into the distance. Memories of his past with Xiao Hua occasionally resurfaced in his mind, and his unwavering resolve to enter the Angelic Domain grew even stronger.

That night, waves suddenly rose on the sea without any wind, seemingly hindering the ship's forward movement with strong opposing currents.

Xu Yang, hovering in the air, cast a spell, applying an incredibly pure and thick layer of vital energy protection onto the ship's hull to prevent it from being blown off course.

However, not long after, a concentrated elemental force mixed within the wind began to stir, making the entire ship unusually restless.

"Boss, what's happening?"

"Everyone, get inside the cabin," Xu Yang commanded. "Something unusual seems to have appeared in the sea. I'll observe the situation first."

As Xu Yang's words fell, Long Kun and Ling Yao immediately pulled their heads back. Inside the cabin, Shi Lingyun's delicate hands began to move once more. Beautiful melodies, imbued with the incredibly powerful effects of the Holy Sound Heavenly Art, began to take effect, continuously reinforcing the protective barrier around the ship. The originally restless ship became noticeably more stable under Shi Lingyun's sonic waves.

"Rumble!"

Suddenly, without warning, a series of booming sounds erupted, and more than a dozen colossal waves surged around the entire ship. The formidable Xu Yang's expression turned slightly cold, his pupils shining like torches, as he forcefully struck the depths of the sea with his palm.

His palm strike seemed to have a special suction effect. The sea creature that was hit was thus pulled out of the water, its massive body falling onto the deck of Xu Yang's ship.

Long Kun and the others poked their heads out for a closer look. The monster instantly killed by Xu Yang was actually a human-dragon over two meters long!

The combination of a dragon (jiao) and a human was not common. However, in the past ten thousand years, such creatures had become extremely rare within the continent. This was because any sea creatures possessing this bloodline that dared to appear in the continent's inner waters were almost entirely hunted down by the major sects.

However, their appearance in such sparsely populated oceanic regions was not too surprising.

"Boss... what do you make of this?"

Long Kun looked at Xu Yang, making a thoughtful expression, and asked this in return.

The formidable Xu Yang helplessly spread his hands. "You ask me, how would I know? The only thing I can be sure of is that there were quite a few of these human-dragon creatures launching a pursuit in the sea just now, and those violent waves probably weren't aimed at us."

The momentary calm did not last long. Almost immediately after Xu Yang finished speaking, an incredibly powerful aura suddenly emerged from the sea.

Upon colliding with the protective barrier Xu Yang had released, the aura immediately spread outwards.

Soon after, large groups of powerful auras rapidly converged towards Xu Yang's ship.

Faintly, one could see the water around the large ship continuously churning, and the converging aura pressure was also much more violent than before.

More and more human-dragons continuously poked their heads out of the water. A quick glance revealed about a hundred powerful human-dragon individuals.

It was known that this species possessed rare bloodlines, yet their individual combat capabilities were quite strong. In short, they were a perfect combination of human intelligence and dragon (jiao) lineage, bearing a strong resemblance to the bloodline of the Black Dragon King from the previous fantasy world.

"Humans, it has been a long time since you last entered our waters," a deeply ancient and resonant voice suddenly spoke, though its source remained hidden. "What is the purpose of your intervention this time?"

Xu Yang gave a cold smile, not intending to hide anything from them. "We are here to search for the Iceberg Ruins."

"Hehehe, you truly are fanciful," the voice scoffed. "Let alone you, even we dragon (jiao) folk, who have lived for tens of thousands of years, have found no trace of the Iceberg Ruins. Don't waste your effort; leave quickly and don't delay us in capturing our target."

"Target?" Long Kun asked in confusion. "Are you saying you human-dragons aren't here for revenge, despite making such a grand display?"

"We will not offend true top-tier human experts like yourselves over individual clan members; let the misunderstanding just now end here," the voice stated. "However, if you intentionally hide the person I'm looking for, then don't blame us human-dragons for fighting to the death."
