Chapter 1850: Lightning Wolf

“Do you see that shimmering place ahead? If you modify the geomantic ley lines there to some extent, or dig down dozens of meters from this spot, you’ll find the core of that spatial array.”

The colorful little mushroom, hands on its hips, guided Xu Yang, acting like a little adult.

Xu Yang didn’t overthink it. After all, this little fellow was firmly restrained by his power, and even if it tried more tricks, it wouldn’t be able to get far.

Naturally, he felt relieved and walked up to the geomantic ley lines. Before acting, Xu Yang glanced at the little mushroom beside him with a half-smile.

To his surprise, the other party seemed very wary and quickly rolled its bright, big eyes at Xu Yang.

“What are you looking at? Don’t expect me to help you dig,” it chirped. “With my tiny body, if I really had to dig with you, your two teammates would probably have been devoured by now.”

Xu Yang snorted with amusement, and with just a snap of his fingers, powerful spiritual energy rapidly activated within a few dozen meters around the ground beneath his feet.

It was his powerful Earth Law at work. The ground began to tremble involuntarily, and soon, a massive rock materialized from thin air deep within the geomantic ley lines of the area before them, pushing all the sand and rubble beneath it out of the ground.

In an instant, the core of the array, buried dozens of meters underground, was effortlessly brought to the surface by Xu Yang. Seeing his maneuver, the little mushroom was dumbfounded.

It stared at Xu Yang as if he were a monster.

“Oh my goodness! No way!” it exclaimed. “Even among Martial God-level experts, I’ve never seen anyone with this ability. You seem to have an ability that allows you to connect with the rules of this world—what an incredible power!”

Hearing the little mushroom’s sincere praise for his strength, Xu Yang remained expressionless, as he didn’t care about such things at all.

With a gentle wave of his palm, a powerful devouring force swiftly emanated from Xu Yang’s hand, helping him grasp the array core firmly in his hand.

He decisively released a wisp of soul energy into the array core to probe its internal state. Xu Yang quickly sensed traces of broken spatiotemporal laws within it.

At least from this, it was clear that the colorful little mushroom hadn’t lied to him.

“Very good, you didn’t disappoint me,” Xu Yang said. “However, this was also a way of saving yourself. If you were still planning any small tricks or schemes with me, you would be a corpse by now.”

After speaking, Xu Yang generously crushed the array core in his hand and tossed it to the colorful little mushroom before him.

“The inherent array power of this item has been shattered by me,” Xu Yang explained. “Now, it’s a perfectly pure energy aggregate. You can replenish your life force by devouring the energy it emits.”

The little mushroom accepted Xu Yang’s gift, its large, glistening eyes blinking for a long time, as if it genuinely hadn’t expected such a gift from its enemy.

“Why are you giving me such a gift?” it asked. “We were enemies, weren’t we?”

Xu Yang let out a cold snort. “Don’t overthink it,” he said. “I certainly have no interest in you. The reason I’m letting you devour this energy is because I don’t want to watch you starve before I find my teammates.”

The little mushroom seemed filled with gratitude, its gaze softening considerably. It no longer held the sharp, confrontational demeanor it had shown towards Xu Yang before.

In reality, Xu Yang could sense that within the Lost Mountain Range, most plant life forms with independent souls didn’t inherently wish to be enemies with human martial artists.

They merely sought to survive, choosing to utilize the conditions within the mountain range to their own advantage.

If the cultivation environment here could be fundamentally altered, allowing these soul-awakened plant life forms to also gain energy from the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, then the entire Lost Mountain Range would be far less terrifying than imagined.

Following the little mushroom’s guidance, he consecutively destroyed several other array cores.

With the little fellow’s help, Xu Yang quickly pinpointed the starting coordinates where the three of them had entered the mountain range. The coordinates obtained this time were extremely precise, free from any further spatial law restrictions.

Xu Yang grabbed the little mushroom and tore open the void. When they reappeared, they were already at the location corresponding to the starting coordinates. Taking out the map again, Xu Yang finally let out a long sigh of relief.

“We’ve finally resolved this most critical problem,” Xu Yang declared. “Next, we just need to follow the aura trails of Long Kun and Po Xiao, and we’ll be able to pinpoint their movement paths.”

No sooner had Xu Yang finished speaking, before he could continue his tracking journey with the little mushroom, countless beastly auras suddenly emerged around them.

Then, streak after streak of lightning-fast sounds crisscrossed around Xu Yang. Such agility and speed were quite rare among beast races.

Even if Po Xiao were to unleash his top-tier assassin’s instincts and display his full agility, he would probably only barely be able to keep up with this speed.

And when these dozens of lightning-fast auras each ceased their movement, Xu Yang realized that dozens of snow-white wolf silhouettes had appeared before them.

“Oh no! They’re Lightning Wolves,” the little mushroom exclaimed. “I can’t believe you’ve attracted these guys. You’re probably in for trouble now.”

The little mushroom, looking helpless, shrugged from Xu Yang’s shoulder.

Xu Yang turned his head dismissively to look at the little fellow on his shoulder.

“Are you sure this pack of mere wolf cubs can threaten me?” he asked.

Xu Yang’s disdainful expression, visible to the sly white Lightning Wolf King, immediately ignited hatred and fury among the wolf warriors before him.

“I’m telling you, don’t underestimate these wolf experts,” the mushroom warned. “While their raw strength can’t possibly match yours, they possess an irreplaceable ability. Any prey they mark will be relentlessly pursued by a continuous stream of beasts lurking in the jungle, and along the way, you’ll gradually lose your ability to discern information about your targets.

“The aura left by your two companions would have gradually weakened due to the jungle’s unique environment anyway. Now that you’ve attracted such a large pack of incredibly fast Lightning Wolves, the traces they left will likely soon become completely untraceable to you. How vast is the Lost Mountain Range? If your two companions are truly ambushed prematurely by the illusions that accompany them, imagine what they will experience.”

Xu Yang realized there was truth in what the little mushroom said. The most urgent task now was to quickly find Long Kun and Po Xiao and help them escape the dangers around them.
