Chapter 1451: Six-in-One

The 900th ranking was an insult to Long Kun. He believed he should not be judged by the current average cultivation level of the continent. After all, as a brave and fierce general who had fought alongside Boss Xu Yang in countless battles, he should at least be able to comfortably enter the top ten. How could he possibly stop his progress so easily?

With this new experience, Long Kun decided to attempt a significant leap, directly setting his challenge target on the saint ranked 500th.

Seeing Long Kun make such a large leap forward, Xu Yang smiled, glancing at Xiaohua and Lingyao next to him.

"I think the three of us should wait for him further up," Xu Yang suggested.

Xiaohua and Lingyao couldn't help but laugh at Xu Yang's expression. They understood exactly what their boss meant. Long Kun, despite continuously advancing his rank by seemingly large margins, was actually taking a roundabout path.

Given the current strength of Xu Yang's team, the four of them were capable of starting at the level of saints within the top hundred. The nine hundred ranks below that were simply a waste of time, an utterly meaningless endeavor.

With the combined power of the four of them, the lower nine hundred ranks within the Heavenly Eye Divine Path's top one hundred were no different from insignificant ants.

Clearly, Long Kun, a rather straightforward and aggressive fighter, had not yet grasped this point. He continued to revel in the thrill and satisfaction of vanity that came with making such significant advancements.

"Then, Boss, I'll choose the 300th-ranked saint as my first challenge," Lingyao said, "that way it's more secure."

As soon as she finished speaking, Lingyao unhesitatingly transformed into a streak of light, darting towards the specific aura within the temple where the 300th saint resided. She successfully activated the dormant saint's spiritual power.

The opponent's complete physical form quickly materialized before Lingyao. The auras between them converged, creating a relatively enclosed space for their confrontation. Soon, the young woman was fully engaged in her battle. Xiaohua, being more modest, chose the 100th-ranked saint. Xu Yang, however, gently shook his head.

"Given your strength, choosing the tenth rank as the starting point for this game would be more suitable," Xu Yang told her.

Xiaohua gave Xu Yang a deep look. Naturally, she was delighted by his praise, but she had always been a cautious and steady player.

"Those two will take a long time to catch up. There's no need to reach the finish line in a single step; wouldn't that take all the fun out of the game?" she replied. "I'm genuinely curious to see what kind of abilities the 100th-ranked saint possesses."

With that, Xiaohua also ascended into the air, making her way to the 100th position.

Originally, Xu Yang had set his sights directly on the largest halo, shimmering with golden light, located in the deepest part of the entire temple.

That halo represented the location of the most powerful First Saint among the hundred. However, after pondering Xiaohua's recent words, Xu Yang suddenly felt a playful urge. He directly shifted his target to the tenth-ranked saint, allowing himself a relatively wider margin for play. This way, he wouldn't lose the enjoyment of the confrontation.

However, the moment Xu Yang activated the tenth space, what appeared before him was not a single individual, but a complete group of six people.

These six individuals were a unified entity. While the aura emanating from each was distinct, a profound and unique power seemed to link them all, making the group exude an incredibly dangerous presence.

This combat mode was not new to Xu Yang. In the past, within the Three Thousand Dao States, he had encountered such highly coordinated killing combinations more than once—standardized teams that operated like killing machines.

"To be frank, your combat mode creates a strong sense of restriction among you. It's far less reliable than if each of you fought individually," Xu Yang remarked. "However, this combination is likely a significant reason why the six of you were able to reach the tenth position."

Xu Yang offered his candid assessment, providing a brief summary of the group before him. The elderly man leading them responded with a smile.

"It seems you are quite familiar with our combat style," the elder began. "But what does that prove? You don't even carry a trace of the temple's aura on you.

"Yet you dare to directly challenge us at the tenth position, coming from outside the top hundred saints. It seems you are incredibly arrogant, completely unaware of the power wielded by the top ten saints of the Heavenly Eye Divine Path."

Xu Yang burst out laughing. "My decision to challenge you proves I possess the power to crush you," he declared. "If you don't believe me, feel free to unleash your most powerful attacks against me.

"If you can neutralize this halo I've manifested within two rounds, then you will prove yourselves worthy opponents. However, if you fail, then I regret to say that the moment this halo dissipates, everything you six possess will vanish from this continent."

Evidently, Xu Yang had significantly increased the stakes for these six individuals. For him, this was merely a game, a means to entertain himself.

For the six assassins before him, however, it was a matter of life and death. Should they fail, Xu Yang would show absolutely no mercy.

This was because the hundred saints residing within the temple were the hundred most powerful individuals imbued with the Supreme God's spiritual energy from the Heavenly Eye Divine Path. This implied that these hundred people would never betray their Supreme God's faith, regardless of the circumstances.

A symbiotic relationship existed between them; should Xu Yang launch an attack on the Supreme God, these hundred believers would instantly transform into the primary source of spiritual energy for the Supreme God, becoming Xu Yang's true adversaries.

And when facing his opponents, Xu Yang never showed mercy.

As expected, the combat form remained a six-in-one entity. Xu Yang was already accustomed to this sight. With a gentle wave of his palm, an incredibly pure energy body swiftly enveloped his physical form.

The energy emanating from this layer far exceeded the strength of any energy body manifested by cultivators below the Supreme God on this continent. This was merely a result of Xu Yang utilizing less than three-tenths of his true power.

As the saying goes, there's no need for an ox-slaughtering knife to kill a chicken. In a confrontation of this magnitude, Xu Yang could not possibly unleash his full strength. If he were to prematurely alert the Supreme God, the enjoyment of this game would be utterly destroyed.

Consequently, once this energy shield had formed approximately ten meters around Xu Yang, the six top assassins, acting as a unified entity, simultaneously unleashed six incredibly potent light blades in their respective forms. They launched an overwhelmingly powerful, crushing attack towards the energy halo surrounding Xu Yang.
