Chapter 1251: Great Earth Law

“I believe I now understand why Yun Wangji created this devouring formation. It wasn't to conceal a secret. Instead, he feared that the Yingzhou Continent he created would turn into a desolate land, given how terrifying these fierce beasts are. If unleashed onto the main continent, they would ensure humans no longer reigned supreme! This brings a new question to mind: if Yun Wangji couldn't control such incredibly fierce beasts, why did he create them in the first place? Could it be that these creatures from the desolate far north were all brought by Yun Wangji from the ends of desolation, as rumored? Yet, as far as I know, we never encountered such barbaric giant beasts even on the main continent. What then, is their true origin? Perhaps all these secrets lie hidden in the true Wuyue Heaven, and only Yun Wangji himself can provide the answers.”

Meanwhile, Xu Yang was still striving to find the Path to Heaven. For now, it was premature to consider other matters. His immediate priority was to resolve the current predicament and fulfill the promise he made to Emperor Yunlong.

“Listen, you giant ants, do you believe your immense size grants you impunity? We have no intention of provoking any of your tribes. It's best you go about your business and don't hinder our progress. Otherwise, you will face an irresistible force.”

Xu Yang paid little heed to the giant ants, despite their seemingly imposing and intimidating presence. But what did that matter? In this world, immense size alone does not grant free rein. True power comes from strength; without sufficient might, all else is futile.

Xu Yang had encountered these giant ants before, and his keen judgment immediately revealed that their strength was solely physical. Their bloodline talents were unremarkable; they depended entirely on their vast physical forms to merely survive in this wilderness. More tragically, Xu Yang concluded that these giant ants were utterly insignificant in the wider wilderness, which explained their presence only on its very fringes. While they might act formidable before these foreign invaders, in reality, compared to other barbaric beast races, the giant ants were arguably the lowest among them.

Before making his move, Xu Yang succinctly stated his assessment of the giant ant lineage. This, undoubtedly, completely enraged the giant ant tribe. The leader, whose coloration was slightly distinct from the others, was particularly incensed. It let out a furious roar, then plummeted towards Xu Yang, its massive foreleg aiming for his head. However, all that awaited it was Xu Yang's cold smile.

“Heh, your strength would earn you only two words on the main continent: ‘brute!’ You’re not just pitifully inefficient, you’re also a recklessly troublesome oaf. Against a brute like you, I have a hundred ways to make you submit.”

As Xu Yang finished speaking, he unhesitatingly raised his right hand. Tremendous power surged from his arm, instantly suppressing all movement from the giant ant that had lunged at him.

The giant ant leader was dumbfounded. He never imagined that a mere wave of Xu Yang's hand could unleash a primordial force capable of completely immobilizing him. From another perspective, this scene would have been utterly terrifying. With a seemingly effortless gesture, Xu Yang performed a feat akin to ‘using a feather to move a mountain,’ firmly suppressing the giant creature before him.

“Just as I surmised: a race most proficient in earth-attribute power. How unfortunate for you, then, that I can perfectly wield not only water-attribute power but also the earth-attribute power you excel at. It too must obey my command.” With those words, Xu Yang wasted no time, immediately demonstrating his most formidable ability to the giant ants. At that moment, the Law of Earth roared into action.

The entire ground began to tremble violently under Xu Yang's will. Yet, the ground beneath Xu Yang and his team remained as steady as a mountain, untouched by any tremor. This was Xu Yang's most formidable trait: his ability to precisely control every tremor frequency with his will. This god-like technique utterly astonished the four divine beast envoys behind him. Even the masked woman, who had remained silent throughout their journey, couldn't help but gaze deeply at Xu Yang, a glint of awe in her eyes.

With the Law of Earth fully unleashed and under Xu Yang's command, the giant ant leader who had attacked him was entirely isolated by a series of colossal earthen walls. After this maneuver, the hundred giant ants surrounding the leader were completely separated from Xu Yang and his group, leaving only the leader, isolated and despairing, to witness the shifting landscape around him.

Indeed, from the very first tremor, the giant ant leader realized that the human before him was far more formidable than he had appeared.

“Tell me, how do you feel now? You've been utterly isolated from the world. If I wished to kill you, you wouldn't even have a chance to speak. Are you regretting your arrogant outburst from moments ago?” The giant ant leader knew Xu Yang was humiliating him, yet all he could do was tremble and regret. “I truly did not anticipate your strength to be so profound. However, as an invader, you destroyed our ice barrier and trespassed into our territory. As the leader of the giant ant tribe, how could I stand by idly?”

Xu Yang's smile deepened, recognizing that the ant leader's tone had softened considerably. Acknowledging one's own limitations was an excellent start. Xu Yang, for his part, had no intention of starting a massacre upon arriving in the desolate far north. After all, his sole purpose for being there was to acquire the Holy Beast Heart as quickly as possible; locating clues related to it was his true objective.

“If you feel fear and tremble, then kneel and submit to me, beg for mercy. After all, besides us, no other giant ant here can witness your actions. It won't be a humiliation to your standing, and after we depart, you can resume your role as the giant ant leader.”
