A good book...
The Pure Yang Scroll is divided into five major chapters, spanning from the first to the fifth stage. Each chapter corresponds to one of the five major cultivation realms: Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation, Nascent Soul, and Soul Transformation. What's even more remarkable is that cultivating the Pure Yang Scroll does not impose high requirements on spiritual root attributes.
However, there is one unique prerequisite: it requires cultivating a complementary Dao Body. This Dao Body is called the "Pure Yang Dharma Body"!
The cultivation of the Pure Yang Dharma Body is also tiered, progressing from One Yang to Nine Yang. Every three Yangs mark a significant milestone, with true "Pure Yang" being achieved upon reaching full completion. For instance, to reach the Foundation Establishment realm, one must first cultivate the Three Yang Body. To form a Core, the Six Yang Body is required. And to enter the Nascent Soul realm, the Nine Yang Body must be previously cultivated.
Upon reading this, Chen Mobai noticed something familiar. Wasn't the Three Yang Body the spiritual root enhancement technique Old Man Ding painstakingly cultivated in his youth? No wonder Pure Yang Academy immediately recruited him without an examination after he mastered it. Unfortunately, Old Man Ding ultimately failed to successfully achieve Foundation Establishment. But if the Three Yang Body is a Dao Body, what connection does it have to spiritual root enhancement?
Chen Mobai, still puzzled, wanted to read further but found he lacked sufficient points. He could only access the Pure Yang Scroll's outline and table of contents, not the specific cultivation method for the Three Yang Body. Silently cursing his luck, he realized he had another approach. He opened the "Auxiliary Cultivation" software and searched for "Pure Yang Dharma Body." Sure enough, over two hundred pages of results quickly appeared, indicating that a significant number of cultivators in the Immortal Sect practice the Pure Yang Scroll, providing a wealth of reference materials.
Chen Mobai opened the video ranked highest on the search page. It was uploaded by a Core Formation True Person, who went by the name "Shaoyang."
"This Pure Yang Dharma Body, though a Dao Body cultivation technique, is fundamentally based on spiritual roots," Shaoyang explained. "The cultivation difficulty of the Pure Yang Scroll is actually comparable to that of the Jade Purity Scripture. However, after Old Ancestor Yuanyang achieved Soul Transformation, recognizing the arduous nature of the Grand Dao, he devised the Pure Yang Dharma Body cultivation method specifically for the Pure Yang Scroll, significantly lowering its cultivation threshold."
"To cultivate the Pure Yang Dharma Body, from the initial stage of One Yang to the sublimation of Nine Yang, requires 27 points in Wood spiritual root affinity and 27 points in Water spiritual root affinity. Ideally, the Fire spiritual root affinity should be above 20 points. With these attributes, upon final completion, one can largely guarantee achieving a 100-point Fire attribute Immortal Spiritual Root."
After listening to True Person Shaoyang's explanation, Chen Mobai finally understood why the Three Yang Body was also considered a spiritual root enhancement technique. It turned out that the original Pure Yang Scroll also had an extremely high cultivation threshold. It required a practitioner to be born in a 'Yang' year, 'Yang' month, 'Yang' day, and 'Yang' hour, with an astrological 'pure Yang' constitution—in other words, to possess a True Pure Yang Body.
Since the Immortal Sect established its lineage on Diyuan Star, its higher echelons calculated auspicious dates and birth horoscopes, encouraging lower-ranking cultivators to procreate diligently. As a result, there have been quite a few individuals born with a Pure Yang Body. One of them achieved great success: Old Ancestor Yuanyang, the founder of Pure Yang Academy. However, he was also a great benevolent sage and master, deeply committed to nurturing future generations and immersed in the field of education. To ensure the Pure Yang Dao lineage could be widely disseminated and practiced by the majority of cultivators, he pioneered a new cultivation method for the Pure Yang Body. This method is precisely the "Pure Yang Dharma Body"!
Old Ancestor Yuanyang, having originated from the Heaven-Mending Dao Academy, had personally experienced the power of the "Immortal Art: Heaven-Mending," from which he drew profound inspiration. This "Immortal Art: Heaven-Mending" was originally comprehended by an Immortal Sect ancestor from a celestial tome in the upper realm. Once cast, it can reshape a cultivator's spiritual root attributes, a truly heaven-defying feat.
Consider, for example, Chen Mobai's spiritual root attributes before he consumed the Bloodjade Carp: Metal: 23, Wood: 27, Water: 23, Fire: 17, Earth: 10. These five elemental spiritual root attributes sum up to exactly 100, a distribution determined by heaven and solely dependent on luck. However, the "Immortal Art: Heaven-Mending" can artificially alter this innate distribution. In simpler terms, it's akin to re-allocating one's attribute points. If Chen Mobai were to have the "Immortal Art: Heaven-Mending" performed on him, he could designate a specific attribute and then reallocate the points from the other four elemental attributes to that chosen one. For example, if he favored Wood, he could convert his 23 Metal, 23 Water, 17 Fire, and 10 Earth affinities into neutral points, then reallocate all of them to his Wood spiritual root, instantly gaining a 100-point perfect Wood Heavenly Spiritual Root.
A spiritual root with 100 points is also referred to as an "Immortal Spiritual Root" within the Immortal Sect. Such individuals are never born naturally; only through the "Immortal Art: Heaven-Mending" can this be achieved. Old Ancestor Yuanyang himself underwent the "Immortal Art: Heaven-Mending" ritual, reshaping his spiritual root into a 100-point Fire attribute Immortal Spiritual Root. With an Immortal Spiritual Root combined with a Pure Yang Body, cultivation speed becomes exceptionally fast. Achieving Soul Transformation in a mere five hundred years, he became the fastest cultivating Soul Transformation Old Ancestor ever recorded in the Immortal Sect's history. Unfortunately, this immortal art can only be performed by Soul Transformation Old Ancestors, and it severely depletes their vital energy. Consequently, over the past thousand years, no one has been fortunate enough to receive such a blessing.
Suppressing the excitement in his heart, Chen Mobai finished watching True Person Shaoyang's video explaining the Pure Yang Dharma Body. Only then did he fully grasp why 27 points of Wood spiritual root affinity, 27 points of Water spiritual root affinity, and ideally over 20 points of Fire spiritual root affinity were required.
The Way of Heaven is to diminish what is in excess and supplement what is lacking. The cultivation of this Pure Yang Dharma Body specifically involves diminishing "Water and Wood" affinities to augment "Fire" affinity. Following the theory of the Five Elements' mutual generation, this method converts one's Water spiritual root affinity into Wood, which is then further converted into Fire, ultimately achieving an effect similar to the "Immortal Art: Heaven-Mending." The cultivation of each 'Yang' stage depends on the cultivator's talent, comprehension, and resources. At most, it can diminish 3 points of Water spiritual root affinity and 3 points of Wood spiritual root affinity, but through the Pure Yang secret method, it can ultimately increase Fire spiritual root affinity by 9 points.
If one's cultivation of the Nine Yang sublimation is consistently fortunate, gaining 9 points with each conversion, then by the end, even a cultivator initially lacking a Fire spiritual root would eventually possess an 81-point Heavenly Fire Spiritual Root. If a cultivator already possesses 20 points of Fire spiritual root affinity, the combined effect would directly elevate it to 100, transforming their spiritual root into an Immortal Fire Spiritual Root.
Upon reading this, Chen Mobai could not suppress his excitement and immediately checked his own spiritual root attributes. His Wood spiritual root affinity was exactly 27 points. His Water spiritual root, originally 23, had increased to 30 points after he consumed the Bloodjade Carp, perfectly meeting the requirements for cultivating the Pure Yang Dharma Body. Then he checked his Fire spiritual root affinity: 17 points. This was a minor imperfection. When the Nine Yang sublimation was complete, his Fire affinity would total exactly 98 points—just two points shy of an Immortal Spiritual Root.
Chen Mobai was already envisioning himself mastering the Pure Yang Dharma Body, successfully achieving Soul Transformation, sweeping across the land, and becoming a revered ancestor. He then watched several cultivation videos for the Three Yang Body, and instantly, a cold splash of reality hit him, chilling him to the core.
"The fastest cultivator to achieve the Three Yang Body was a cultivator named Mingyang, who spent 12 years. He then dedicated another 39 years to mastering the Six Yang Body, and finally, after another 86 years of arduous cultivation, completed the Nine Yang Body. However, by then his lifespan was insufficient, leaving him unable to attempt a breakthrough to the Nascent Soul realm. He eventually passed away from old age."
