I’m a complete newcomer, a true greenhorn. This book secured a contract at 60,000 words. At 100,000 words, it received its first trial recommendation within the popular fantasy genre. Anyone familiar with the process knows it’s incredibly difficult to stand out in that category. I’ve personally observed numerous books from many periods, and only a handful truly broke through. Yet, to my astonishment, this book actually made it!

My original intention in writing this book was simply to provide some entertainment for everyone to enjoy after a meal or during their leisure time. As for the supporting characters, my intention from the outset was that not everyone would simply revolve around the main protagonist. My approach is to first establish their personalities, then introduce them at the opportune moment, whether subtly or with a grand entrance. The goal is that once they appear, they actively propel the plot forward—that’s what I strive for. There’s a fine line between genius and madness. The day my characters become indistinguishable from the crowd will likely be the day I’ve lost my passion!
