Chapter 327: The Boldness of Red Blood Valley

Lu Ye activated his Insight spiritual pattern to locate the nodes of the Scarlet Blood Valley's grand formation. As before, he began working with the formation masters from the Heavenly Evolution Sect to break it.

Meanwhile, the cultivators from both sects arranged their battle formations under the direction of Zhao Li and Song Yin.

The Scarlet Blood Valley's Garrison Commander, who controlled the formation's jade token, had heard about Lu Ye's formation-breaking methods through various channels, but he had never witnessed them firsthand.

Now, he profoundly understood the meaning of despair.

No matter how he activated the jade token to make various changes to the grand formation, he couldn't curb Lu Ye's progress.

Just as he had heard, within mere dozens of breaths, the spiritual energy in a certain area of the formation ceased flowing. With a concentrated assault from the two sects' cultivators, that section of the formation completely shattered.

The shouts and curses from both sides stopped, replaced by a mutual onslaught of spiritual weapons and spells. Instantly, multicolored lights streaked back and forth across the sky, creating a magnificent spectacle.

As screams of agony erupted, the Scarlet Blood Valley Garrison Commander, who was directing from the rear, realized something was wrong.

His physical cultivators were dying too quickly.

Physical cultivators were their greatest shield; if too many of them died, their defensive line would certainly be broken.

After a brief observation, he quickly saw the truth.

It was Lu Yiye of the Blood Sect; almost half of the deceased physical cultivators were killed by him!

Four streams of light from his controlled spiritual weapons weaved and danced. Physical cultivators targeted by him couldn't withstand the power of these weapons; he struck true with every attack. The Scarlet Blood Valley's painstakingly cultivated physical cultivators were as fragile as paper before his sharp attacks.

After only ten breaths of engagement, the number of physical cultivators at the forefront had already been halved. Without them blocking the way, Scarlet Blood Valley's casualties soared, and their losses rapidly expanded as time passed.

In contrast, while the enemy's physical cultivators also suffered casualties, their tight defensive line remained solid. Especially one physical cultivator in the center – his vitality was impossibly vigorous. The commander personally witnessed a defensive spiritual artifact in his hand shatter, and over ten attacks land on him, yet the physical cultivator remained seemingly unfazed.

This person's physical body was stronger than ordinary defensive spiritual artifacts.

The Scarlet Blood Valley's Garrison Commander realized the gravity of the situation and knew he had underestimated his opponents this time.

But escaping now was impossible; fleeing at this point would only give the enemy an opportunity for a complete massacre.

He quickly activated his battle imprint and sent out a message.

The next moment, five figures materialized out of thin air in the Heavenly Mystery Hall. Without pausing, they shot out of the hall, transforming into five streaks of light, and rushed directly towards the battlefield.

Among these five were men and women, young and old.

They were clearly not Spirit Creek Realm cultivators; some were Cloud River Realm, others True Lake Realm.

To stand up for Lu Ye, Shui Yuan had twice forced her way into the Spirit Creek Battlefield. Naturally, Scarlet Blood Valley wouldn't lack such audacity, but doing so came with a heavy price and significant risks, which was why cultivators in the Nine Provinces usually didn't do it.

However, with their sect's stronghold in imminent danger, Scarlet Blood Valley couldn't afford to care about such concerns.

The five individuals currently displayed only Heavenly Level Eighth-Layer Realm cultivation because they had all ascended to the Cloud River Realm from the Heavenly Level Eighth-Layer. Forcibly entering now, the cultivation they could utilize was their peak power from when they were in the Spirit Creek Battlefield.

In this regard, they couldn't compare to Shui Yuan.

Shui Yuan had ascended to the Cloud River Realm with Heavenly Level Ninth-Layer Realm cultivation, so when she forced her way into the Spirit Creek Battlefield, her displayed cultivation was Heavenly Level Ninth-Layer.

It wasn't that Scarlet Blood Valley didn't want to send stronger individuals; it was simply that they had no stronger ones available.

At the Spirit Creek Realm level, if one could open all 360 apertures and ascend to the Cloud River Realm with Heavenly Level Ninth-Layer cultivation, then promotion to the Divine Sea Realm in the future was a certainty.

But opening 360 apertures was far from easy. Even disciples of first-rank sects couldn't guarantee they could open all of them.

Among cultivators at the Spirit Creek Realm level, less than one in a hundred could ascend to the Cloud River Realm with Heavenly Level Ninth-Layer cultivation.

Scarlet Blood Valley was merely a fifth-rank sect; these five individuals were the ones with the most opened apertures at the Spirit Creek Realm level that Scarlet Blood Valley could currently produce.

Five powerful auras pressed down. Lu Ye immediately sensed them, looked up, and upon seeing the five streaks of light, he furiously shouted, "Be careful!"

Perhaps his shout drew the attention of the newcomers; the elder among the five immediately looked over, his eyes flashing with a chilling murderous intent.

With the powerful assistance of these five, Scarlet Blood Valley immediately stabilized the situation. In contrast, the two sects' offensive rhythm was disrupted; the favorable situation they had enjoyed became a stalemate, and their casualties significantly increased.

After all, they were five Heavenly Level Eighth-Layer Realm cultivators; the combined power they could exert was enough to alter the course of the battle.

The Scarlet Blood Valley Garrison Commander, who had been on edge, breathed a sigh of relief, while Zhao Li and Song Yin grew extremely anxious.

A moment later, wisps of purple lightning began to coil around the five individuals. All of them showed expressions of pain, and one woman even trembled slightly, her offensive power significantly weakened.

The five knew the consequences of killing in the Spirit Creek Battlefield and had mentally prepared themselves before entering. However, knowing was one thing; none of them had ever actually done it before.

They had only heard that the Blood Sect's Seal Master had gone on a killing spree in the Spirit Creek Battlefield and had believed they wouldn't be inferior to that person. But only when they killed their first Spirit Creek Realm cultivator did they realize things weren't as simple as they thought.

The punishment of the Soul Severing Divine Lightning was not easily resisted. Shui Yuan could withstand it because of her unique soul; even after killing dozens, she remained seemingly unharmed.

The five from Scarlet Blood Valley couldn't cope. They had only killed about twenty individuals in total, but they had already reached their limit of endurance and could no longer kill more; they could only defend against the attacks of the two sects' cultivators.

"You all hold them off, I'm going to kill Lu Yiye!" the elder gritted his teeth and declared, his body flickering as he lunged through the air towards Lu Ye. The intense pain in his soul twisted his face into a grotesque grimace.

Lu Ye was their primary target for this intrusion. As long as they could kill him, even if Scarlet Blood Valley's stronghold was lost, the various sects of the Ten Thousand Demon Ridge would compensate them with abundant resources, enough for Scarlet Blood Valley to rebuild its stronghold and still have plenty left over.

The elder, wielding a longsword, was clearly a Weapon Cultivator. As he lunged through the air, he unleashed streaks of sword light towards Lu Ye.

Lu Ye hastily drew his Crag Mountain Blade, shattering several sword lights, but the immense force of the impact sent him flying into the air.

The elder's killing move arrived instantly, his longsword darting like a viper's tongue, thrusting directly at Lu Ye's heart.

The sword was so fast that Lu Ye barely reacted. His Defensive spiritual pattern formed in haste, barely blocking the attack, but the next instant, blooming sword flowers erupted in his vision.

The advantage of a powerful soul became apparent at this moment. Although Lu Ye couldn't clearly see the enemy's sword moves, he felt a stinging sensation in several vital points of his body, and a great crisis surged within him. He instinctively activated several Defensive spiritual patterns to guard those locations.

As the Defensive spiritual patterns shattered one by one, Lu Ye bled profusely but was not fatally wounded, plummeting straight down.

The elder's eyes showed surprise. He was attempting to kill an ordinary Ninth-Layer Realm cultivator with his Heavenly Level Eighth-Layer Realm cultivation, yet he hadn't succeeded instantly. This was difficult for him to accept.

His body swayed, evading attacks from all directions. His longsword twitched again, and he merged with the sword light, becoming almost one with his weapon, thrusting towards the airborne Lu Ye.

Although he could only exert Heavenly Level Eighth-Layer Realm strength in the Spirit Creek Battlefield, he still possessed the foundation of a True Lake Realm cultivator. This single sword strike might not even be blocked by the strongest individuals on the Spirit Creek Ranking.

Lu Ye indeed couldn't block it because the attack was too fast, exceeding his reaction limit. Even though he promptly activated a Defensive spiritual pattern in front of him, enough to protect a large part of his body, the sword pierced directly through it.

The longsword penetrated just below his heart, passing through his body. It was only half a finger's breadth from being a fatal blow.

However, at the critical moment, he held his breath and managed to avoid the fatal spot.

"Brother Yiye!" Zhao Li, who had been closely watching Lu Ye, cried out in alarm. Song Yin, meanwhile, silently rushed forward, intending to provide aid.

However, it was clearly too late.

The elder showed no joy in his success; as long as the enemy was not dead, he would not relax. He furiously surged his spiritual energy, channeling it along his longsword into Lu Ye's body, intending to destroy his internal organs.

This technique was similar to Lu Ye activating his Fierce Thorn spiritual pattern after piercing an enemy. Usually, a piercing wound isn't fatal on its own, but it's suitable for small maneuvers that can inflict further damage on the enemy.

Intense pain surged through him, and the flesh around Lu Ye's wound writhed. The Crag Mountain Blade in his hand almost ignited, fiery red spiritual energy clinging to it, flashing with a halo as he swung the blade. He looked at the elder, who was within arm's reach, and brought his blade down.

The elder frowned, abandoning his original plan. He pulled his longsword from Lu Ye's body, drawing out a gush of hot blood, and simultaneously brought his sword horizontally before him.

A clang rang out, and sparks flew as the Crag Mountain Blade flashed with a brilliant light. It was imbued with a Pressure spiritual pattern, and more specifically, a double Pressure spiritual pattern that Lu Ye had intricately embedded using his mastery of spiritual patterns.

The elder's expression, previously confident of victory, turned to shock, because in that instant, the strike the young man delivered with his blade was as heavy as a thousand jun!

It felt less like a blade striking down and more like a small mountain pressing upon him.

Caught off guard, the elder's longsword almost flew from his grasp. As a Weapon Cultivator, he naturally wouldn't allow such a thing to happen, so he quickly surged his spiritual energy to stabilize his spiritual artifact.

Under immense pressure, he and Lu Ye descended towards the ground together, their spiritual artifacts locked in opposition, their eyes fixed on each other at close range.

The elder's expression regained its composure as he stared coldly at Lu Ye. He couldn't deny that the young man's performance was outstanding; even from the perspective of a True Lake Realm expert, he found few flaws. However, the disparity in strength was undeniable. Since he intended to kill Lu Ye, whatever the young man did would ultimately be a futile struggle.

Then he saw a sun explode in his vision...
