Chapter 2801: The Preservation of the Treasure's Power

As time passed, the Myriad Poison Pearl fruit on the Talent Tree became increasingly distinct.

Until, at a certain moment, the fruit finally reverted to its original appearance from when Lu Ye first encountered it. Lu Ye knew, almost without needing to deliberately inspect it, that this supreme treasure had been fully restored.

The nutrient supply did not cease. Just as Lu Ye had anticipated, the supreme treasure fruit still had room for further growth.

Several days later, as Xue Jiu watched in shock, the Sky Mirror, which had been with him for countless years, suddenly turned to dust, like a cloud of fine sand, sifting through Lu Ye's fingertips.

His heart clenched at the sight. Although he had long anticipated this moment, he still found it difficult to accept when it truly unfolded before his eyes.

He was also astonished by the profound mystery of the Myriad Poison Pearl. What made this treasure so different from others? Why could it devour other supreme treasures to nurture itself?

Regardless, now that the Myriad Poison Pearl had consumed the Sky Mirror, it should be fully restored. He wondered how potent the poison had become, and if it could affect cultivators at the Half-Saint level. This was his primary concern.

If the Myriad Poison Pearl's current power wasn't enough to affect a Half-Saint, then all his efforts would be futile. Even with a Dao Harmonization Pearl in hand, he would be no match for a Half-Saint.

He looked up, surprised to see a hint of hesitation on Lu Ye's face, unsure what he had just encountered.

Just moments before, a peculiar idea had suddenly sparked in Lu Ye's mind.

To date, every supreme treasure he had encountered possessed its own profound mystical power. Not to mention others, even the one Xue Tianxing had previously acquired, though it seemed less practical, was still a supreme treasure nonetheless.

The Sky Mirror was no different; its power of refraction and reflection could actually be greatly useful at times.

So Lu Ye wondered if the Talent Tree could still retain the profound mystery of this supreme treasure. The treasure's essence had been entirely consumed by the Talent Tree, and the treasure itself had turned to dust and vanished. From this point on, the Sky Mirror would cease to exist in this world.

However, a final trace of its mystique remained, flowing within the Talent Tree, which Lu Ye had not yet used as nourishment for the Myriad Poison Pearl fruit.

As he pondered, Lu Ye guided this trace of mystique to a specific location within the tree's trunk.

Visibly, with his action, an almost imperceptible bulge appeared at that spot.

This caused Lu Ye to raise an eyebrow, and upon closer inspection, he was greatly pleased.

His idea could actually work!

The slight bulge on the Talent Tree was undoubtedly a precursor to a fruit forming. However, because it was conceived from the Sky Mirror's last shred of mystique, the nutrients were too scarce for it to fully blossom and bear fruit.

Yet, it had successfully preserved the profound mystery of the Sky Mirror supreme treasure.

In the future, given the opportunity, he would only need to supply sufficient nutrients to this spot, and then there would be a chance to cultivate a Sky Mirror fruit.

This was undoubtedly a rather astonishing discovery.

It meant that in the future, should Lu Ye encounter supreme treasures he favored, he could preserve their characteristics and profound mysteries on the Talent Tree. Given the right opportunity, he could then allow them to manifest their supreme power once more.

Upon re-examining the Myriad Poison Pearl fruit, it was clear that it had grown further compared to several days prior, indicating that it had already surpassed its state from when Lu Ye first encountered it.

Without hesitation, Lu Ye immediately immersed his mind, peering into its depths.

He soon discovered that, compared to before, he could more clearly discern the various profound mysteries within the fruit. As he delved deeper, numerous novel ideas surfaced in his mind.

Lu Ye was not particularly skilled in the path of poison, but with the Myriad Poison Pearl fruit, he seemed to gain an intimate understanding of every poison in the universe.

He could use this fruit to spontaneously generate any poison he desired, and with further concoction, its potency would be beyond imagination.

A few more days elapsed. As Lu Ye slightly raised his hand, a speck of fluorescence appeared between his fingers. He looked at Xue Jiu, who had been eagerly waiting beside him, and said, "You try it!"

Xue Jiu curiously observed the fluorescence, feeling slightly puzzled. "Is this the power of the Myriad Poison Pearl?" he asked.

It appeared unremarkable, like a glowing firefly. The power Lu Ye had previously unleashed was a menacing dark blue-black, clearly indicating its danger. What was this current manifestation?

Despite his thoughts, Xue Jiu knew that this unassuming appearance likely concealed a potency far greater than anything he had encountered before. After all, this was what he had received in exchange for a supreme treasure.

He gently raised his hand and received the luminous speck. Before he could make any further movement, the fluorescence suddenly vanished from his palm.

Xue Jiu's eyes widened, and he quickly scanned his own body. After a few breaths, he looked up at Lu Ye. "Where did it go?" he asked.

He detected no abnormality or discomfort within his own body. Yet, he had clearly seen the fluorescence vanish from his hand, and he knew it was definitely a highly toxic substance; it couldn't simply disappear. Thus, there was only one possibility—the potent poison was now inside him.

Lu Ye offered him a faint smile.

Xue Jiu suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

Immediately, he watched as Lu Ye raised his hand, formed a hand seal, and softly uttered a single word: "Detonate!"

As the word fell, Xue Jiu's entire body jolted. His vital energy became chaotic, the flow of his Dao power grew incredibly sluggish, and his strength inexplicably plummeted by a full thirty percent!

He involuntarily staggered back a few steps, staring at Lu Ye with an expression of utter horror, as if he had seen a ghost.

He had personally experienced the Myriad Poison Pearl's power not long ago, but compared to today's display, it was a mere trifle! If the previous power was something he could suppress, this time he was utterly helpless.

He was secretly horrified. If the Myriad Poison Pearl's power had been unleashed to such an extent when Lu Ye wreaked havoc in the Blood Race territory, it was likely that the entire Blood Race, and even the Insect Race, would have been annihilated by Lu Ye alone!

"Blood Lord, do you believe this can threaten a Half-Saint?" Lu Ye asked.

Xue Jiu felt utterly miserable. The potent poison circulated throughout his body, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't suppress it. It not only affected the circulation of his vital energy but also interfered with the flow of his Dao power. What terrified him even more was that wherever the poison flowed, his flesh and blood were melting. Even with his powerful physique, he found it difficult to repair such damage.

In such a state, if left unchecked, he feared that within mere days, his entire body would liquefy into pus.

"First, help me detoxify!" Xue Jiu choked out.

Lu Ye raised his hand and made a gesture, and Xue Jiu immediately felt the potent poison within his body surge out as if imbued with a will of its own. It reformed into a speck of fluorescence, settling on Lu Ye's fingertip.

Freed from the poison's influence, Xue Jiu's internal injuries rapidly healed, and his aura stabilized.

He gazed at Lu Ye with a complex expression, and after a long moment, he finally nodded. "It should be effective," he admitted, "but the quantity must be sufficient!"

He wasn't entirely sure of a Half-Saint's true strength, but he knew he was completely powerless against such a potent poison. Unless one could detect it in advance and prevent its infiltration, which would be incredibly difficult.
