Chapter 2749: Where Did the Blood Guilt Go

In the void, two figures, one chasing and one fleeing. The fleeing figure was clearly an Insectoid, its body slender and covered in jade-colored bone carapaces that accentuated its contours. Two pairs of transparent wings flapped rapidly, each beat propelling its body a considerable distance forward, yet its expression remained panicked.

Lu Ye pursued closely. Even as he continuously activated his Void Teleportation technique, he found it difficult to close the distance.

In terms of speed alone, this Insectoid was even faster than Tai Kun.

His gaze was solemn. He raised his blade and struck forward. As the void twisted, the Insectoid shrieked, and blood splattered across the sky.

Lu Ye felt no joy from his success. This strike had merely wounded the opponent; it hadn't taken her life.

This Insectoid was not only fast but also very powerful, definitely on the level of a Cosmos-grade City Lord.

A stream of light rapidly approached from the side. Lu Ye didn't need to look; he knew it was Tai Kun. He secretly sighed in regret and swiftly turned to leave.

Two breaths later, Tai Kun arrived nearby. He glanced at the injured female Insectoid and frowned, asking, "Yuting, how are your injuries?"

The female Insectoid, called Yuting, looked shaken. "It’s nothing serious," she replied, "but Lord Tai Kun, can we be sure the intelligence is accurate? Is this person truly just a newly advanced Dao Integration expert?"

Tai Kun sighed. "I find it hard to believe too, but this information was personally confirmed by Lord Blood Sovereign. During the Star Chessboard battle years ago, he was indeed only a Dao Assimilation cultivator. He must have only recently advanced to Dao Integration."

Yuting gasped. "This is incredible! Where is Lord Blood Sovereign? This person has invaded our territory, committed countless killings, and is so elusive. Are we just going to stand by and watch?"

Tai Kun shook his head. "Lord Blood Sovereign is currently handling an important matter and cannot disengage quickly. He has given orders that we must capture him at all costs!"

Yuting recalled the various methods of Lu Ye, the Human, and couldn't help but shake her head and sigh. "Difficult!"

Tai Kun reprimanded her, "Don't be disheartened. His strength is indeed formidable, and he is skilled in the Dao of Space. But he only recently advanced to Dao Integration; how much power can he possibly have? We just need to continuously harass him, giving him no time to rest. Eventually, he will exhaust his resources."

Having suffered at Lu Ye's hands, how could Tai Kun not know how troublesome he was? If Lord Blood Sovereign hadn't issued such an order, he would have been tempted to let Lu Ye leave.

But with the Blood Sovereign's command, he had no choice but to obey.

This was their territory. Lu Ye, a mere human, had come here and massacred wantonly, breaking through numerous Dao Integration Cities. If he were allowed to escape, the Insectoid and Blood races in the Star Abyss would surely become a laughingstock, and the Blood Sovereign would be scorned.

"Pull yourself together! You are a Cosmos-grade City Lord, after all. How can such minor setbacks break your spirit?" Tai Kun snapped at Yuting again. "What’s more, that fellow is severely injured. From what I saw, it’s no ordinary wound. He might be at his limits any moment now."

Yuting’s expression brightened. "Yes, sir!"

In the void, Lu Ye's expression was grim. From time to time, he would turn his head to look in a certain direction.

In that direction, a figure shimmered in and out of view in the distance. Lu Ye knew it was the Cosmos-grade City Lord named Feihuang.

Since his encounter and skirmish with Tai Kun that day, he had gained two more extremely troublesome opponents: Yuting, whom he had just wounded, and Feihuang.

Both were Insectoids, and like Tai Kun, they were incredibly fast and powerful.

These three took turns pursuing him, essentially cornering him. No matter which direction he went, he couldn't shake off their surveillance.

Under their various maneuvers, the entire combined strength of the Insectoid and Blood races seemed to be stirred up. No matter which way he fled, he found himself in a situation of encirclement and interception.

Just like now, Lu Ye had to change direction while flying because several Dao Integration Cities were converging to encircle him.

Normally, Lu Ye wouldn't pay much attention to these Dao Integration Cities. If he handled it well, he might even be able to defeat them one by one. However, with powerful enemies constantly surrounding him, and Tai Kun and Yuting ready to provide support at any moment, Lu Ye couldn't stay in one place for too long.

As he flew, a question arose in his mind.

Where was Xue Jiu?

He could now confirm that he had indeed drifted into the territory of the Insectoid and Blood races, specifically the region where Blood Drink City, one of the Ten Great Cities, was located.

But he had been here for over half a month now. It was impossible that Xue Jiu hadn't received news, yet he still hadn't seen the Blood Sovereign's revered face.

This made Lu Ye secretly rejoice, feeling more and more certain that this Blood Sovereign of the Blood race was likely recovering from injuries; otherwise, he wouldn't fail to appear.

Nevertheless, Lu Ye still dared not be careless. The most urgent task was to escape this area quickly.

But with Tai Kun and others tracking him and mobilizing Dao Integration Cities for encirclement, it wasn't easy for him to escape.

He had to find a way to deal with these three individuals. Even if he couldn't eliminate all three, he needed to kill one or two to escape his predicament.

In an instant, Lu Ye made his decision!

Less than half a day later, in front of a Blood race Terrestrial-grade City, Lu Ye unleashed a furious blade assault, his potent holy energy radiating freely.

Finding a Blood race Terrestrial-grade City in such a place was too easy. Lu Ye had encountered many before but had ignored them due to Tai Kun and his group's harassment.

In less than ten breaths, the city's defenses were breached. He flashed inside, as if entering an unmanned territory.

This scene made Feihuang, who was tracking him from afar, seethe with rage. Never before, from ancient times to the present, had anyone dared to be so presumptuous in the territory of the Insectoid and Blood races!

Lu Ye was the first, yet Feihuang could only watch, lacking even the courage to step forward and stop him.

Feihuang had also clashed with Lu Ye before, and a persistent, unhealing sword wound on his body was the lasting proof of that encounter.

Chaos reigned in the city. Non-Blood race individuals fled in all directions, while the Blood race members were like lambs facing a fierce tiger, suppressed by the holy energy and unable to move.

Blade light flashed freely. As numerous fleeing figures flew past, their bodies were torn apart. Wherever Lu Ye went, blood flowed and corpses lay scattered.

He rushed directly into the central hall, first shattering the Dao Integration Orb there and collecting its numerous fragments. Only then did he turn to look at the few Blood race members suppressed there.

There weren't many, only seven or eight, and though all possessed Dao Assimilation cultivation, they couldn't even lift their heads under the suppression of the holy energy.

Lu Ye's gaze swept over them, and he spoke slowly, "I'm looking for a place where I can easily hide myself and where my tracks won't be easily discovered. Do any of you have any good suggestions?"

Tai Kun, Yuting, and Feihuang were like maggots clinging to bones, impossible to shake off. If Lu Ye wanted to escape this place, he had to deal with them first.

Therefore, it would be best to find such a place. That way, he would have an opportunity for a surprise attack.

However, he was unfamiliar with this cursed place and could only seek information from others.

Silence filled the hall.

Lu Ye swung his blade, and as a scream erupted, the closest Blood race member collapsed dead on the spot.

He stepped towards the second Blood race member, softly saying, "Whoever can offer some guidance, I swear by the will of the Star Abyss that I will spare their life!"

As he finished speaking, the blade light flashed again, followed by another scream.

Then came the third, the fourth...

It wasn't until Lu Ye approached the fifth Blood race member that the individual trembled and uttered something.

Lu Ye tilted his head. The tip of his Panshan Blade pressed against the Blood race member's jaw, and with a slight push, he lifted the head. "Speak clearly, and preferably, point me in the right direction."

The Blood race member's face was filled with terror; he dared not meet Lu Ye's gaze. Though still trembling, his voice grew louder: "The Blood Source Sea! That place… it should work!"

Lu Ye raised an eyebrow. "Are you certain?"

The Blood race member nodded repeatedly. "Certain!"

"Which direction?"

Three breaths later, Lu Ye walked out of the Terrestrial-grade City, immediately spotting two streaks of light rapidly approaching in the distance—Tai Kun and Yuting, who were rushing over.

Not only that, but Dao Integration Cities were also encircling the area from various directions.

Lu Ye withdrew his gaze and shot forth.

"That brat is going too far!" Tai Kun raged. It was one thing for Lu Ye to have previously breached Dao Integration Cities, but given the current situation, he was still attacking them. Although the loss of a mere Terrestrial-grade City was inconsequential, this was clearly a provocation, a blatant disregard for the Insectoid and Blood races.

How dared he?

Amidst his furious roar, he didn't stop. He linked up with Feihuang, and the three figures gave chase.

In the following days, the encirclement and interception continued, but in this vast void, before an effective encirclement could be formed, Lu Ye always managed to find a gap and escape each trap, leaving before true danger arrived.

Tai Kun and the other two clashed with him multiple times but found it difficult to capture him.

Tai Kun couldn't understand: just how terrifying were this guy's power reserves? After such a long period of conflict, with almost no time to rest and recover, Lu Ye was still able to go all out every time, showing no signs of weakening.

This was somewhat illogical.

Until one day, Yuting suddenly frowned. "Is he heading for the Blood Source Sea?"

Although Lu Ye's movements had been erratic lately, overall, he had indeed been steadily approaching the Blood Source Sea. Now, he was very close to it.

Hearing Yuting's words, the enraged Tai Kun suddenly realized something. After a brief contemplation, he found that it seemed to be true!

His eyes sharpened. "He must not be allowed to enter the Blood Source Sea!"

That place was rumored to be the birthplace of the Blood race, a magnificent wonder. The environment wasn't particularly complex, but the entire Blood Source Sea was composed of extremely dense blood mist. Within it, one's senses and spiritual perception would be greatly suppressed. If Lu Ye were to truly rush into the Blood Source Sea, finding him again would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Tai Kun currently only hoped this was a mere coincidence and that Lu Ye didn't know the location of the Blood Source Sea. If he was truly heading there, then this situation would become very troublesome.

In an instant, he spoke, "Send out the message! Set up layers of defenses in front of the Blood Source Sea. We must force him to change his direction!"
