Chapter 2746: He’s Here

Novel

A dazzling pillar of light, like an indestructible sharp blade, burst forth. The already tattered realm instantly disintegrated, transforming into countless meteorite fragments that scattered in every direction.

From within, a figure darted out, appearing disheveled.

"Hmm?" Inside Concordance City, the Blood Clan City Lord was momentarily stunned. He had never expected anyone to be hiding in that location. What surprised him even more was that the moment he saw the figure, an uncontrollable greed welled up within him, as if killing the person would yield enormous benefits.

He had no idea where this greed originated, yet it was incredibly clear. This made him both surprised and wary, as he had never experienced anything similar before.

He attempted to suppress this sudden surge of greed, but the more he tried, the more intense it became. Frustrated, he moved, sweeping out of the city and declaring, "Follow me!"

This suddenly appearing figure was incredibly peculiar, managing to ignite greed within him. Regardless of how the other party achieved this, he believed he could uncover the truth once they were captured.

At his command, three figures followed closely behind him, their eyes reflecting the disheveled, fleeing figure, all displaying greedy expressions.

Amidst the scattered meteorites, Lu Ye moved swiftly, a sigh escaping his heart.

He suspected his current misfortune was linked to that curse. The will, which had subtly influenced Yun Shiwang and lured him to open the Star Abyss Gate in the past, could undoubtedly achieve similar effects now.

Thus, the breaching of his hiding place, while appearing coincidental, was in fact an inevitable outcome. If not this Concordance City today, there would have been another one tomorrow.

Now that his whereabouts were exposed, he knew without a doubt that he would be hunted again.

As expected, just as he began to flee, he detected four powerful energy signatures emerging from Concordance City, heading straight for him.

If, during the spectacle in the outer realm, the many Concordance experts who became his enemies were influenced by the Star Abyss Will, then now, under the effect of that strange curse, anyone who saw him would feel hostility.

In his current state, he wished to avoid further complications. He simply wanted to escape the area quickly and find a new place to heal his injuries.

However, before he could do so, he suddenly felt a peculiar sensation and glanced back at his pursuers.

A dense, bloody light entered his vision: a crimson cloud, enveloping four figures, was rapidly closing in.

The Blood Clan?

What a coincidence indeed.

If his pursuers had been cultivators from other races, Lu Ye wouldn't have given it much thought. He was well aware of his current condition; the hostility others felt towards him might not be their own conscious thoughts, but merely the influence of the curse. In that case, he would be safe once he was out of their sight.

But since the pursuers were members of the Blood Clan, that was an entirely different matter.

He still had a score to settle with Xue Jiu.

This Blood Lord had repeatedly caused him trouble, even sending people to pursue him into the Tower of Time. While Lu Ye was indeed no match for the Blood Lord currently, he could certainly kill some of his subordinates to collect some interest.

In a flash, Lu Ye suddenly turned and charged towards his pursuers.

His action bewildered the four Concordance pursuers, but with greed consuming their minds, none pondered it too deeply. Instead, a sense of joy arose, believing their opponent was simply courting death.

However, as their distance closed, the Blood Clan City Lord's heart suddenly lurched, and his expression of eager anticipation transformed into surprise and doubt.

Because after clearly seeing Lu Ye's appearance and current form, he suddenly remembered someone.

Lu Ye, the Human!

Not long ago, the Blood Lord had personally decreed that anyone who could bring Lu Ye, the Human, before him would receive immense rewards. Furthermore, if any Blood Clan member encountered him outside, they were to avoid him if possible, because this human, for unknown reasons, possessed a Blood Clan bloodline, and his sacred aura was terrifying—far beyond what an ordinary Blood Clan member could contend with.

This Blood Clan City Lord had never seen Lu Ye before, but Lu Ye's current appearance was virtually identical to the description he had.

A human, a soldier cultivator, whose Dao weapon was a long blade.

It couldn't be such a coincidence, could it?

The City Lord's heart pounded, but he quickly reassured himself that it made no sense. Many people must now know about the Blood Lord's bounty on Lu Ye. No matter how audacious this human was, he shouldn't be infiltrating Blood Clan territory.

As he entertained these thoughts, he suddenly saw a burst of blood-red light erupt from Lu Ye, who then transformed into a crimson streak, fiercely charging to a spot not far in front of him.

At that very instant, an intense sacred aura descended from above, causing his blood and energy to suddenly congeal.

The Blood Clan City Lord's pupils contracted to pinprick size.

The crimson cloud dispersed, and four figures stumbled out of it in disarray.

As the blade light erupted, two powerful life forces were extinguished almost simultaneously, one of them being the Blood Clan City Lord!

He was undoubtedly unlucky. As the City Lord of a Desolate-grade city, had he simply remained within his city, Lu Ye would have been powerless against him. Even if the city were breached later, he would have had the opportunity to escape into the Concordance Realm.

However, the irresistible greed lured him out to fight, leaving him completely unprepared for the suppression by the sacred aura. His strength plummeted, and he was utterly unable to defend against Lu Ye's sudden assault.

Yet, in his final moments, he still managed a desperate cry: "Lu Ye, the Human!"

Another Blood Clan Concordance expert joined him on the path to the underworld.

In a mere instant of clash, two of the four Concordance experts were killed, including a Desolate-grade City Lord. The remaining two were utterly terrified.

Hearing their own City Lord's final, desperate cry, their faces paled with even greater shock.

Lu Ye, the Human—that name was all too familiar to them, as he was the individual the Blood Clan had personally singled out.

Why was he here?

How had he managed to infiltrate?

There was no time to ponder; Lu Ye's "blade waterfall" had already engulfed the two remaining individuals.

The two Concordance experts who narrowly survived did so not because they were stronger, but because they were not Blood Clan members and thus not Lu Ye's immediate targets.

One was from the Insect Race, and the other was from the Rain炼 Race. This latter race was considered a vassal tribe of the Blood Clan, having lived for generations under their protection and existing at their whim. If anyone in their tribe displayed exceptional talent, they would be branded with a slave mark, thereby gaining the qualification to continue cultivating.

In the Star Abyss, it was common for powerful races to have numerous vassal tribes.

This Rain炼 Race Concordance expert, possessing only the cultivation of a lower-tier Concordance, unleashed his full strength, which amounted to merely six hundred Dao powers. His Dao weapon was instantly cut in half upon contact with the Mountain Blade, and to his disbelief, his body was also cleaved open by a single strike.

The Insect Race member, seeing the dire situation, attempted to flee, but it was too late. Lu Ye's blade light struck his back, and his rigid bone carapace offered no protection whatsoever; the Mountain Blade's sharpness cut through it like tofu.

In merely two breaths—just two breaths—all four Concordance experts were slain. This unfolded almost instantaneously.

Within Concordance City, which had been pursuing them, the few remaining Concordance experts all paled dramatically.

No one had anticipated that a mere sudden encounter would lead to such devastating consequences.

"Lu Ye, the Human!" one of the Concordance experts murmured, then quickly cried out, "Quick, quick, quick! Spread this news!"

While he was indeed shocked by the demise of their City Lord and several companions, the dead could not be resurrected. What truly mattered was to swiftly disseminate the news of Lu Ye, the Human, appearing here.

This was Blood Clan territory, and for the individual specifically targeted by the Blood Lord to appear here was akin to walking straight into a trap!

"He's coming to kill us! What does he want?" Another Concordance expert couldn't help but recoil two steps as he spoke, clearly overwhelmed by the previous scene. Even though a strong greed still welled up within him upon seeing Lu Ye, a greater panic quickly suppressed it.

"What are you panicking about? Can he breach the city by himself?" a third Concordance expert shouted, though his expression betrayed a false bravado.

Hearing this, the few Concordance experts gathered there suddenly came to their senses.

That's right. Although this human, Lu Ye, appeared incredibly powerful, killing four of their strong experts, including the City Lord, in just two breaths, the City Lord's death was clearly related to bloodline suppression. Now, hiding within the city and protected by the grand formation, they indeed had no major concerns.

As long as the grand formation remained intact, they could rest easy.

And given the supreme divine might Lu Ye had just demonstrated, they absolutely dared not leave the city to engage him, even with their overwhelming numerical advantage.

"He's injured," observed the one who had just spoken, his gaze fixed on the large gash on Lu Ye's body.

Several gazes immediately focused on it. Upon seeing the wound, they felt significantly more at ease. Such an injury looked severe, and they wondered what this human, Lu Ye, had encountered previously.

In this light, his arrival here also seemed to have a reason.

As they spoke, Lu Ye had already reached the city gates. A colossal blade light condensed on the Mountain Blade, resembling a giant cleaver. He raised the Mountain Blade high and brought it down with a fierce chop.

"He actually dares to attack the city alone!"

Witnessing this sight, the few Concordance experts were filled with both anger and indignation.

Boom...

As the colossal blade light descended, the entire Concordance City shook violently. Numerous buildings within the city swayed, and under the terrifying impact, some cultivators with lower cultivation levels even lost their footing.

Concordance City, which had previously been moving forward at high speed, abruptly halted in place after this single strike.

The few Concordance experts all blanched in shock, secretly astonished by the sheer ferocity of Lu Ye's power. Such immense force seemed utterly beyond what a human being could possess.

What made them even more uneasy was that with this strike, the light barrier of the city's protective grand formation visibly sagged inwards. A clear mark appeared at the point of impact, and although it was quickly repaired, a trace undeniably remained.

"This is bad!" a Concordance expert cried out.

They had initially believed that as long as they remained within the city, they could rest easy. However, it now appeared that was not the case.

Based solely on the level of power this human, Lu Ye, had just demonstrated, it seemed he truly possessed the ability to breach the city by himself!

That terrifying, brutal force and that unparalleled, sharp strike were precisely what the Concordance City's defenses most dreaded.

Admittedly, the city's defenses could endure for a time under such an assault, but once the grand formation's repair rate failed to keep pace with the destruction, the city would inevitably fall!

Lu Ye's second strike had already descended, resembling a scene replayed. With this downward slash, the city once again began to tremble violently, and the grand formation's light barrier sagged inward once more, leaving a distinct mark.
