Chapter 265: Why Doesn't Xianyuan Guard Arrest You?

Wind Rises in Kyushu

With the oppressive force Lu Ye was currently exerting, if one of Chu Qing or Ruo Yan died, the other would soon follow.

Qiao Yun moved to intercept, her body crossing theirs, positioning herself to block. As a body cultivator, being at the forefront of an assault was a fundamental skill.

The fleshy palm descended towards Lu Ye's head at a deceptively slow speed. Lu Ye had already countered with a backhand slash to her arm.

The blade, empowered with a sharpness enhancement, failed to sever Qiao Yun's arm, leaving only a bloody mark on her fleshy limb.

As the blade met flesh, Lu Ye felt as if his strike had hit a highly elastic rubber. Qiao Yun's flesh rapidly squirmed at the point of impact, absorbing and nullifying the blow's power.

Qiao Yun's other palm was already descending. Lu Ye lashed out with a kick, connecting squarely with her stomach.

Yet this full-power kick not only failed to send the obese woman flying, but instead made Lu Ye feel as if he had stepped into a swamp. A powerful suction emanated from her stomach as her flesh squirmed, neutralizing his attack and simultaneously enveloping his foot.

Lu Ye tried to pull his foot free, but it was stuck.

Qiao Yun's palm slammed down. His Guardian Rune shimmered into existence, only to shatter instantly under the blow. Lu Ye's head snapped sideways, a buzzing sound filling his ears as golden stars exploded before his eyes.

Even with the Guardian Rune absorbing the impact, the palm still held immense power. If it had landed directly, Lu Ye felt his head would have been crushed.

“Naughty boy, let big sister take care of you!” Qiao Yun cooed sweetly, but her narrowed eyes glinted with menace as she spread her arms and moved to embrace Lu Ye.

In that instant, her qi and blood surged, granting her incredible speed.

If she managed to embrace him, Lu Ye, even with all his skills, would be helpless and simply await death. To make matters worse, his foot was still trapped in her stomach, making escape impossible.

In this moment of life-or-death crisis, his eyes cleared, and his focus sharpened. The Pan Mountain Blade glowed with fire as he thrust it directly towards Qiao Yun’s heart.

As he struck, a powerful spiritual light flared on the blade.

Double Sharpness Enhancement!

The blade tip pierced Qiao Yun’s flesh. He distinctly felt her flesh rapidly squirming; while she could neutralize Lu Ye’s slashes, dissolving a direct thrust like this proved more challenging.

A scream tore from Qiao Yun's throat as her expression changed. Her hands, already in an embracing posture, suddenly pushed forward, slamming hard into Lu Ye's shoulders. A tremendous force struck him from the front, sending Lu Ye, hunched over, sliding back several yards, his feet plowing two deep furrows into the ground.

Blood seeped from Qiao Yun’s chest, her face etched with lingering fear. In that brief moment, she had felt as if one foot had already stepped into the gates of hell.

Several yards away, Lu Ye stopped, subtly rotating his shoulders. They felt a bit numb from the impact, but he was otherwise fine. *What a pity,* he thought.

If Qiao Yun had reacted just a moment later, he could have activated the 'Spike Spirit Rune' on his Pan Mountain Blade, allowing her to experience what it meant for something to 'blossom from within'.

Yi Yi's spells continued to barrage Qiao Yun, but the fleshy woman completely ignored them. Her qi and blood intertwined with spiritual power, effortlessly deflecting each spell.

Lu Ye gazed solemnly at the plump woman before him. He had to admit, she was a formidable opponent. As a body cultivator, she wasn't easily killed. In a one-on-one fight, he was confident he could defeat her, but it would require time—and time was exactly what he lacked.

The swirling mists around them had grown dense, churning ever more violently.

Behind Qiao Yun, the Immortal Guard squad that had been engaging her was now reduced to just a single squad leader. Chu Qing and Ruo Yan had eliminated the rest, which explained why they hadn't intervened in the main battle earlier; someone had to keep the Immortal Guards occupied, or they would cause significant trouble.

Only then did Chu Qing have a moment to survey the other side of the battlefield. What she saw shocked her: on the street ahead, half of Windflower Pavilion's twenty-plus members were dead, and the survivors were in a grim state. The Immortal Guards were trapping enemies, while the plump spirit was responsible for eliminating them, their coordination seamless.

A wave of despair washed over her; she couldn't comprehend how the situation had devolved so rapidly.

She had brought over twenty people specifically to deal with Lu Yiye. How had the Immortal Guards managed to disrupt their plans?

Though brimming with resentment, she had no choice but to accept reality. With reddened eyes, Chu Qing issued the command: “Retreat!”

Upon hearing her command, the Windflower Pavilion cultivators, already reluctant to continue clashing with the Immortal Guards, began to retreat. The Immortal Guards pursued them relentlessly, their figures receding into the distance.

The instant she cried out, Lu Ye, blade in hand, surged forward.

He had already intended to seek revenge on Windflower Pavilion. Now that they had come to him, how could he allow them to retreat so easily? Lu Ye ignored the others; these three women before him had to remain, especially the plump woman named Qiao Yun. This body cultivator was genuinely troublesome; without eliminating her, it would be difficult to target anyone else. This was his chance, precisely because Chu Qing had given a flawed command!

Advancing with his blade, Lu Ye thrust it directly at Qiao Yun. Having learned from their previous exchange, Qiao Yun dared not be careless. She raised a hand to slap the blade, but her strike met empty air as Lu Ye swiftly retracted his blade mid-thrust, only to jab again.

Seeing the spiritual light burst from the incoming long blade, Qiao Yun's pupils contracted slightly. At this critical moment, Ruo Yan sprang forward, blocking the blade for her. And that wasn't all; Chu Qing also charged from the other side, the Immortal Guard squad that had been harassing them now completely annihilated.

With the three women combining their efforts, Lu Ye was immediately forced to retreat. Even with Yi Yi assisting, he found himself struggling, his Guardian Runes constantly flickering as they blocked the trio's coordinated assaults.

“Go!” Chu Qing urged quietly. Although they currently held the upper hand three-on-two, she realized that killing Lu Ye would still require considerable effort. Their priority now wasn't to kill him, but to quickly find a hiding place.

Immortal City was about to undergo a major upheaval; it wasn't advisable to linger here.

This was also why she had ordered her disciples to retreat earlier.

Qiao Yun turned and fled. Ruo Yan also feigned a move, pushing Lu Ye back, and then escaped with Chu Qing.

Lu Ye relentlessly pursued them from behind, not forgetting to retrieve his two spiritual artifacts and place them back into his storage bag before leaving.

In a chase-and-flee, the four figures continuously moved across the rooftops.

As Chu Qing fled, she glanced back, her expression gradually shifting to alarm. Behind Lu Ye, over a dozen Immortal Guards were giving chase. She recognized them as the same group that had ambushed them earlier, particularly noting the plump spiritual body among them.

Shouldn't these Immortal Guards have been diverted by her disciples? Why were they pursuing them? Chu Qing was utterly bewildered.

She had initially considered stopping to fight Lu Ye to the death if he continued his pursuit, but that idea was now extinguished.

Clashing with Lu Ye again at this point would only bring trouble for everyone.

However, she quickly realized that with Lu Yiye behind them, the Immortal Guards would target him first, even if they caught up. With him as a shield, the three of them would be safe.

The Immortal Guard squad leaders and Liu Sanbao were undoubtedly faster than ordinary Immortal Guards. A moment later, Liu Sanbao raised his hand, sending three streaks of spiritual light soaring past Lu Ye towards Chu Qing. He wasn't the only one; the other Immortal Guard squad leaders also attacked, unleashing several dazzling spirit-binding chains in quick succession.

“Sister Chu Qing, watch out!” Ruo Yan exclaimed, her exaggeratedly long blade whirling to deflect Liu Sanbao’s attacks.

Even while fleeing, Qiao Yun flashed behind Chu Qing, unleashing a punch backward. Her abundant qi and blood almost solidified, shattering several incoming spirit-binding chains.

However, with this entanglement, more spirit-binding chains descended upon her. Qiao Yun could only keep swinging her fists, intercepting them one after another.

Lu Ye swiftly closed in.

“Go!” Qiao Yun roared, turning to confront Lu Ye. She knew she couldn't escape.

Chu Qing and Ruo Yan’s eyes trembled. Suppressing the urge to go back and help, they leaped and swiftly fled into the distance. It wasn't that they wished to abandon their companion, but if they didn’t leave now, both of them would be trapped.

Fortunately, clashing with Immortal Guards usually didn't pose a life-threatening risk as long as one didn't resist too fiercely; typically, they were only imprisoned in Immortal City's dungeon. Given Qiao Yun's physical resilience, she should be able to endure until they could leave.

As for Lu Yiye, he likely wouldn't escape either.

Since he wasn't a body cultivator, being thrown into the dungeon would surely not end well for him.

Watching Chu Qing and Ruo Yan disappear into the distance, Lu Ye was inclined to continue the pursuit. However, Qiao Yun's already corpulent body suddenly expanded further, resembling a mountain of flesh, as she charged at him recklessly.

If he were hit by such a powerful charge, even activating his Guardian Rune would be pointless.

However, he didn't dodge. Instead, he raised his blade and chopped down at the mountain of flesh. As the blade struck Qiao Yun, a 'Heavy Pressure' Rune activated.

Qiao Yun immediately grunted, her body sinking, almost kneeling. Meanwhile, Lu Ye used the force of the collision to propel himself backward, landing ten yards away, his hand still holding the blade trembling slightly.

With a flurry of movement, the Immortal Guards landed, completely surrounding the two of them.

Qiao Yun, however, smiled, looking at Lu Ye. Her eyes, almost obscured by fat, were brimming with triumph. “Now you can’t escape!”

Lu Ye, flexing his wrist, watched her with a puzzled expression, unsure what she was so triumphant about.

Qiao Yun loudly declared, “I won’t resist! Don’t kill me!”

“Apprehend her!” an Immortal Guard squad leader commanded loudly.

From all directions, spirit-binding chains descended upon Qiao Yun, binding her securely.

Qiao Yun’s brow furrowed. She felt something was amiss.

The Immortal Guards were only attacking her; they were completely ignoring Lu Yiye.

Not only that, but Lu Yiye, blade in hand, was walking steadily towards her. Throughout the entire process, the surrounding Immortal Guards remained expressionless, as if they saw nothing.

Lu Ye stopped in front of her, subtly raising the Pan Mountain Blade, its tip pointed directly at Qiao Yun’s chest.

Lu Ye had seen many people who were fearless in the face of death, but he had never encountered anyone so eager to embrace it.

Qiao Yun’s expression turned to terror. “Why aren’t the Immortal Guards apprehending *you*?”
