Chapter 2234: Again Chase, Kill You

In the starry sky, two figures sped one after another, startling many cultivators as they passed.

The allied guards active in this battle zone naturally recognized Yan Hai, so they had no idea whom their Lord Protector was pursuing. They could clearly see that Yan Hai was chasing a human.

Soon, however, all the allied guards in the entire battle zone received Yan Hai's command: intercept the dark agent, Lu Ye!

Issuing this command was a last resort. As a protector stationed in a battle zone, one could not issue such an order unless there was an urgent military situation.

But he couldn't catch up himself, and the orders from his home star could not be disobeyed, so he had to pin his hopes on the allied guards active in the battle zone.

He was certain that Lu Ye was an Initiated Dao cultivator. Although he didn't know why Lu Ye's speed was so great, anyone at the Initiated Dao stage couldn't be too strong.

A human-wave tactic should be effective.

But Yan Hai soon realized he was wrong. Lu Ye charged straight through, unhindered by any number of allied guards who tried to block his path.

The strength Lu Ye displayed was clearly far beyond that of an ordinary Initiated Dao cultivator!

He must possess an extremely powerful Dao artifact!

This frustrated Yan Hai greatly. The only thing that relieved him was that Lu Ye hadn't killed anyone. All those who tried to block him were merely knocked aside; some were injured, but no one died.

This Lu Ye, though now a dark agent, still retained his bottom line! Yan Hai thought to himself that if he could capture Lu Ye, he might be able to put in a word with his home star. Although he held little sway, given the circumstances, Lu Ye might suffer less.

As he pondered this, Yan Hai's expression suddenly hardened, for a sea of blood suddenly surged forth ahead.

From the blood sea, he sensed a familiar aura!

It was none other than the Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator stationed in this battle zone.

They were old adversaries. Yan Hai was somewhat stronger than this Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator, but every time they clashed, the opponent would unleash his sea of blood, leaving Yan Hai with no effective counter.

Why had this fellow shown up? And so quickly!

Inside the sea of blood, the Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator's face was filled with excitement.

In fact, as soon as Lu Ye appeared in this battle zone, he had already received an order from the Nether Butterfly Matriarch!

This order was not given directly to him but had been relayed several times, as his battle zone was quite far from the Nether Butterfly.

However, the matriarchs communicated via Stone Worms, so messages were transmitted swiftly.

The Nether Butterfly's order was simple: find an opportunity to bring Lu Ye back! She sensed Lu Ye was in this battle zone and was unaware of what he was doing, as there were no signs of him returning.

But for the Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator, this mission was not simple to accomplish. While he was fretting over it, his subordinates reported that Yan Hai was pursuing a human cultivator named Lu Ye.

The Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator was startled by the news and immediately rushed to assist.

From a distance, he saw the two figures pursuing each other ceaselessly. Daring not to delay, he unleashed his sea of blood and advanced, shouting, "Is that Lu Ye ahead? I am here to assist you by order of the Nether Butterfly Matriarch! Return quickly!"

Upon hearing this, Yan Hai's heart sank with urgency.

Although he was stronger than his opponent, he always struggled to deal with him. If Lu Ye were rescued, Yan Hai would have no way to explain himself to his home star.

Could he truly explain that a Harmonious Dao cultivator like himself had pursued an Initiated Dao cultivator for half a day without success? He wouldn't even believe it himself if he said it aloud.

In his desperation, he intensified the mobilization of his Dao power, aiming to intercept Lu Ye before he could meet with the Blood Clan cultivator.

Lu Ye's expression was grim at this moment.

He knew, of course, that the Nether Butterfly could sense his location, just as he could sense hers. As long as they were both in this vibrant starry sky, this connection was unbreakable.

But he had never imagined that, even across such vast distances, the Nether Butterfly could still dispatch a Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator to assist him.

He didn't need such assistance.

Now, with the Blood Clan shouting like that, he was truly in a predicament; his identity as a dark agent would be impossible to shake off.

Originally, he hadn't been flying towards the Blood Clan, but at this moment, hardening his resolve, he changed direction and sped towards the sea of blood. At first glance, it appeared as if he genuinely intended to rendezvous with the Blood Clan.

Yan Hai watched this scene with despair, helplessly seeing Lu Ye's figure plunge into the sea of blood.

Yet, in just two breaths, Lu Ye's figure burst out of the sea of blood, holding a straight, ink-black long saber stained with fresh blood, its blade a vivid crimson.

The sea of blood collapsed with a roar.

The Harmonious Dao cultivator's life force dissipated.

A flash of white light abruptly appeared, entering Lu Ye's body and vanishing!

"Star Abyss Blessing!" Yan Hai was momentarily stunned, but greater shock immediately followed, for his opponent of several decades had now been sliced in two. Without the concealment of the blood sea, he clearly saw the opponent's head floating, eyes wide, and a headless corpse.

There was also a massive gash on the headless corpse, clearly indicating that even the Dao Bones had been removed!

Dead!

The Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator had died so inexplicably, at the hands of an Initiated Dao cultivator.

Yan Hai felt as though he was hallucinating, until his gaze met Lu Ye's impatient eyes, and then he was abruptly jolted.

"Chase me again, and I'll kill you!" Lu Ye declared, and his figure suddenly split into three, streaking away in different directions.

A chill rose in Yan Hai's heart.

He could finally confirm that Lu Ye was a Harmonious Dao cultivator!

Moreover, he was very powerful, because an Initiated Dao cultivator alone could not have killed his old adversary, not even through a sneak attack.

It was like a dream...

But Yan Hai quickly regained his senses, staring at the direction where Lu Ye's main body had vanished. A wave of apprehension washed over him. After a brief deliberation, he pursued one of the clones!

The clone was merely a Blood Treasure clone. In the original starry sky, it could exhibit Lu Ye's full strength, but after advancing to the Dao Realm, the clone's strength could not keep up with the main body, as a Blood Treasure clone could not carry Dao power.

Thus, Yan Hai could easily distinguish which was the main body and which was a clone.

However, he still did not pursue the main body. If Lu Ye could kill his old adversary so easily, it meant that pursuing him would be futile, and he himself might not even be a match.

Yet, he could not disobey the orders from his home star, so he had no choice but to opt for the next best thing and pursue a clone.

It wasn't that he wasn't doing his utmost; it was just that Lu Ye was too cunning, and he had been deceived.

After pursuing for a while, the clone fleeing ahead suddenly vanished in a strange manner.

Yan Hai couldn't understand how the clone had disappeared and could only stand rooted to the spot, his expression exceedingly complex.

A short while later, the intelligence from this area was relayed back to the home star, causing a great uproar.

Lu Ye, who had merely been at the Initiated Dao cultivation stage, had incredibly advanced to the Harmonious Dao stage in just half a year after being abducted, and had even killed a fifth-level Harmonious Dao Blood Clan member!

No one believed such an absurd story, so the home star immediately dispatched personnel to Shaochong War Star, preparing to question Yan Hai directly about the events.

What puzzled Yan Hai and his home star even more was why Lu Ye had killed the Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator!

If he were truly a dark agent for the Insect and Blood races, it would be impossible for him to attack a Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator. The status of a dark agent was very low; even with high cultivation, they would not be valued by the Insect and Blood races.

If he truly were a dark agent, he would never dare to kill a Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator, unless he wished to die.

But if he wasn't a dark agent, why did he flee? Yan Hai had made it very clear to him that his life would not be harmed; he only needed to be brought back to the home star.

On Yinshuo War Star, when the Nether Butterfly received the news, she flew into a rage: "This wretched creature!"

She was practically exploding with fury!

She could clearly sense that Lu Ye genuinely had no desire to return to her. The Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator had died unjustly, and to top it off, the Blood Clan was now holding her accountable for the incident!

Although the Blood Clan and Insect Clan had collaborated closely for many years, they were ultimately two separate races, each with their own agendas. The Blood Clan Harmonious Dao cultivator had come to assist Lu Ye under the Nether Butterfly's command, and his death was a direct result. Naturally, the Blood Clan demanded an explanation from the Nether Butterfly.

What explanation could the Nether Butterfly possibly give?

Everyone thought Lu Ye was her subordinate whom she could manipulate as she pleased, but only she knew that her relationship with Lu Ye was exceedingly complicated and utterly impossible to disclose publicly.

At this time, while both sides were in a frenzy, Lu Ye had already transited through a wormhole into another battle zone.

By now, he vaguely realized that the exposure of his identity was likely related to his waist token.

Otherwise, the timing wouldn't have been so coincidental: Yan Hai had appeared just after he acquired a new waist token.

His first thought was to destroy the item.

But after some consideration, he decided against it.

Currently, he only knew that his exposure was connected to the waist token, but the exact nature of this connection remained unclear.

Nor did he know if the waist token could be tracked.

He had thoroughly examined the waist token but found nothing suspicious, which made the situation even stranger.

He remained hidden in one location for several days. Aside from the occasional passing of cultivators from both allied and enemy sides, nothing untoward occurred.

From this, it seemed the waist token was not being tracked, because if it were, Harmonious Dao powerful cultivators would surely have come looking for him by now.

After some thought, he ultimately decided to keep the waist token.

If he wanted to contact the Human race, this item was essential and might prove useful in the future.

However, to be safe, Lu Ye still threw it into his small Flora Realm, temporarily keeping it hidden.

After several days of lying low, it seemed safe for now. Just as Lu Ye was about to emerge and feign being an ordinary Initiated Dao cultivator to temper himself in this battle zone, a powerful divine sense suddenly swept through.

Lu Ye's body stiffened!

Another Harmonious Dao cultivator.

Had he been exposed again?

But he quickly realized something was amiss. This divine sense was aimlessly searching, not knowing his exact hiding place. It was merely scanning continuously within a certain range, as if looking for something.

Lu Ye concealed himself even more carefully, completely suppressing all his aura.

A moment later, a second divine sense spread forth, followed by a loud voice entering his ears: "Zhong Pu, why aren't you staying put in your own territory? What are you doing here?"
