Chapter 2084: Star Abyss Rampage

The Wind of Kyushu Rises

A warship was approaching. Judging by its course, its destination appeared to be this residual battlefield.

Lu Ye took a brief look and realized the warship was only Moon Glimmer-class. He immediately flew towards it with Jiu Yan.

Neither of them made any attempt to conceal themselves; their Sun Illumination auras were clearly evident.

Inside the warship, which was slowly approaching, someone suddenly exclaimed, “Two powerful auras are approaching! The intensity of these auras… they're Divine Realm!”

“How can there be Divine Realm cultivators here?”

“Oh no, it must be those despicable Star Abyss monsters!”

“Quick, run!”

“Why are they running?” Lu Ye watched the warship suddenly change course and clearly attempt to flee, a puzzled expression on his face.

Jiu Yan speculated, “Perhaps they've mistaken us for enemies?”

That was the only logical explanation. Helpless, Lu Ye transmitted a message indicating he had no hostile intentions while swiftly moving in the direction the warship was fleeing.

Although the warship was at full speed, it couldn't escape from him and Jiu Yan. They were caught up to in just a moment.

However, the cultivators inside the warship did not readily believe his message. As he and Jiu Yan approached, they continuously unleashed attacks, but it was futile.

A moment later, the two of them had intercepted the warship from the front. They had assumed this would force the opponent to stop, but unexpectedly, the opponent rammed into them without reducing speed, as if intending to perish with them.

If this collision had truly connected, he and Jiu Yan would be unharmed, but the warship would certainly be destroyed.

“What a nuisance!” Lu Ye sighed. He shot forward, moved beyond the warship's protective barrier, raised a palm, and gently pressed downwards.

The moment his spiritual power surged, the warship's protective barrier shattered with a roar.

He drifted down and landed on the deck.

A sturdy figure suddenly burst out from inside the cabin. The figure was tall, slender, and sharply defined—it was clearly a leopard-shaped mech.

Extremely violent power fluctuations emanated from within the mech. The moment it appeared, it lunged at Lu Ye, and an angry voice boomed from within it, “Let's die together!”

Self-destruct! Lu Ye frowned.

All mechs could self-destruct—a feature every Mech-Master incorporated when refining a mech, and a Mech-Master's final resort against an enemy.

The power fluctuations emanating from this mech had clearly reached the peak of the Moon Glimmer level. Evidently, the opponent knew they were no match and intended to drag Lu Ye down with them.

But… what animosity, what grudge could this be? Lu Ye had only come to gather information, yet he was subjected to a self-destructive assault.

A jade-like hand suddenly extended from behind Lu Ye and gently pressed down on the leopard's head.

Jiu Yan's spiritual power surged like a fierce tide. In just a few breaths, the violent power within the leopard mech slowly dissipated.

“Kill!” Another furious roar rang out. Suddenly, gaps appeared at various points on the warship, and from these, figures shot out. Each was a strangely shaped mech, surging from all directions towards Lu Ye and Jiu Yan.

Lu Ye was greatly annoyed and immediately placed his hand on his Pan Shan Blade.

But with a brief perception, he couldn't help but frown. Although there were many mechs that burst out, their strength was not impressive.

The strongest mech on the entire warship was the leopard-shaped one that Jiu Yan had already subdued. The auras emanating from the other mechs were at most at the Constellation level, and many were even only at the Divine Sea level…

Mechs of this level, no matter how numerous, could be destroyed with a single strike from his blade.

“Stop, all of you stop!” The leopard-shaped mech suddenly roared.

He undoubtedly held considerable authority. At his command, the many mechs that had been fiercely lunging forward came to a halt.

Lu Ye sighed, looking at the leopard mech. “Can we talk properly now?”

Jiu Yan withdrew, floating back to stand beside Lu Ye.

The leopard mech remained silent, its crimson eyes observing Lu Ye and Jiu Yan with uncertainty and surprise. After a long moment, it activated its spiritual power. With a series of crackling sounds, the tall, slender mech instantly disintegrated into tiny plates, which swiftly folded and vanished, revealing the figure of a young man with snow-white hair and fair skin where the mech had been.

The young man appeared to be human, but his fair face bore several peculiar patterns, like beast markings, and there was a clear demonic aura about him. Therefore, he was likely a member of the Demon race.

He slowly spoke, “Sirs… you aren't from the Star Abyss, are you?”

Lu Ye had been observing him, but upon hearing this, his pupils suddenly contracted. “What did you say?”

To this day, only about a dozen people knew about the Star Abyss. Thus, Lu Ye had never expected to hear someone mention it here.

Jiu Yan, standing beside him, also showed a flicker of surprise.

The young man seemed not to have heard him, merely scrutinizing him from head to toe, his divine sense fluctuating. After a long moment, he finally spoke, “Indeed, sirs, you are not those Star Abyss monsters. You don't have that aura!”

Aura…

Lu Ye's heart stirred, and he suddenly recalled: the three powerful beings who emerged from the red vortex on the Myriad Manifestation Sea indeed possessed a unique aura. It was an incredibly evil and violent aura, very distinctive.

He composed himself and asked, “Where did you learn about the Star Abyss?”

“Where?” The young man was momentarily stunned, then gave a bitter laugh. “Star Abyss monsters are rampant throughout the Starry Sky—is there anyone who doesn't know this now? That place there is a residual Star Abyss battlefield!”

He pointed behind Lu Ye.

Lu Ye looked back and saw that he was pointing precisely at the battlefield he and Jiu Yan had seen earlier.

But… Star Abyss monsters rampaging through the Starry Sky? Where did this come from? The three Star Abyss monsters that appeared on the Myriad Manifestation Sea should all be dead by now, but judging by his words, this seemed to be common knowledge.

Could it be that… many years had passed since he and Jiu Yan were trapped in the Ghost Sedan?

But that couldn't be; it had clearly only been a few months.

Even if the Starry Sky had undergone immense changes in a few months, it couldn't have reached this extent.

He was puzzled, and the young man opposite him was even more so. “Since you two are Divine Realm powerhouses, why are you completely unaware of these matters?”

“Divine Realm?” Lu Ye was even more bewildered. What kind of realm was Divine Realm? He had never even heard of it.

After a brief contemplation, he spoke, “My senior sister and I have been cultivating in seclusion on a certain barren star for several centuries, only emerging a few days ago. Therefore, we don't understand the current situation in the Starry Sky. Would you be so kind as to enlighten us?”

Upon hearing this, the young man suddenly understood. “So that's it!”

Now certain that Lu Ye and Jiu Yan were not Star Abyss monsters, the other Mech-Masters gathered around also relaxed. A moment later, inside the warship's cabin, Lu Ye and Jiu Yan received a warm welcome.

Two Divine Realm cultivators were worthy of respect anywhere.

Under the young man's narration, Lu Ye and Jiu Yan gradually learned some information.

The young man's origin was as Lu Ye had suspected: he was a member of the Demon race. Because he was born fifth, he called himself Leopard Five.

According to him, the catastrophe in the Starry Sky began one day three hundred years ago. Initially, people only thought it was the emergence of a new wormhole. No one expected that the red vortex, which was unlike typical wormholes, connected to a place called the Star Abyss.

After the wormhole's emergence, bizarre entities continuously intruded into this Starry Sky. Each of them was incredibly powerful. Any Star Abyss visitor possessed the ability to defeat opponents of higher cultivation levels; they could almost be described as invincible among their peers.

They brought immense disaster to this Starry Sky. One realm after another suffered devastation and had their vitality extinguished due to their arrival. Wherever they went, there was endless death and slaughter.

The major powers quickly realized the gravity of the situation. Powerhouses from all sides connected, launching a pursuit and suppression campaign against the Star Abyss visitors.

This campaign lasted for nearly a century. Countless powerhouses perished, and an untold number of treasures were expended. Only then were those intruding Star Abyss visitors finally eradicated.

But the matter did not end there. During the pursuit and suppression, even more Star Abyss visitors intruded through the red wormhole. Some top-tier powers joined forces and established defensive lines near this wormhole to prevent future incursions.

During this period, several more wormholes connecting to the Star Abyss were opened across the Starry Sky. Now, three hundred years after the first Star Abyss wormhole appeared, there are over a dozen wormholes connecting to the Star Abyss throughout the Starry Sky. Each location where a Star Abyss wormhole is found is a battlefield, with countless cultivators gathered to guard it. This is because three hundred years of death and slaughter have proven one thing: if these Star Abyss monsters are not contained within the wormholes, they will surely bring destruction to the Starry Sky.

“That residual battlefield once had a Star Abyss wormhole, but it later disappeared, so the cultivators guarding it moved elsewhere. We came here mainly to collect some usable wreckage, as years of war have caused material shortages at the defensive lines.”

“How did that Star Abyss wormhole disappear?” Lu Ye asked.

Leopard Five shook his head. “I'm not entirely sure. I'm only at the Spirit Realm, and I only advanced a few years ago. Such secrets are probably only known to Divine Realm powerhouses.”

After hearing so much, Lu Ye also grasped some key points: the Spirit Realm he spoke of corresponded to what Lu Ye knew as the Moon Glimmer realm, and the Divine Realm corresponded to the Sun Illumination realm.

“Is there anything else you two sirs would like to ask?”

Lu Ye asked, “The Myriad Manifestation Sea… have you heard of it?”

Leopard Five slowly shook his head. “Never heard of it.”

“What about the Samsara Tree?”

“No, that either… Sir, are you perhaps referring to the Ancient Tree of Life?”

“No.” Lu Ye's heart sank. If Leopard Five hadn't heard of the Myriad Manifestation Sea, that might be understandable; although famous, it wasn't known by every being across the Starry Sky.

But he hadn't heard of the Samsara Tree! That was not right. Leopard Five was, after all, a Moon Glimmer cultivator.

The terms Spirit Realm and Divine Realm, the emergence of Star Abyss wormholes three hundred years ago, the current desolate state of the entire Starry Sky with over a dozen Star Abyss wormholes—each a battlefield—all these signs pointed to one conclusion.

“Do you have a star chart of this vicinity?” Lu Ye composed himself and asked.

“Yes, I do.” Leopard Five quickly produced an item and handed it to Lu Ye. “This includes star charts of hundreds of nearby star systems.”
