Chapter 117: Surround and Blockade

In the great hall, three pairs of eyes watched as the white light point encountered five black light points. In less than twenty breaths, the five black points were successively extinguished, leaving only the white point still flickering.

All three felt their eyelids twitch. Han Zheyue quickly raised her hand to press her battlefield mark, sending out an urgent message. Soon, nearly ten black points detached from the peaks near where the white point was located and converged towards it.

This woman was clearly infuriated. Some Fourth-Layer cultivator had appeared from nowhere, occupied a peak behind the Tai Luo Sect's territory, and was essentially making a mockery of them.

Although they didn't know how he managed it, the fact that he could kill five opponents alone in such a short time showed his extraordinary capabilities.

Nevertheless, since those peaks belonged to the Tai Luo Sect, it was easy to mobilize forces to encircle and annihilate him.

The opponent was likely already injured; if he dared to linger there for even a moment, he would surely meet his end!

Tang Wu glanced at her but didn't intervene. Such matters couldn't be interfered with; everyone had a battlefield mark, making communication easy. Moreover, with people constantly moving in and out of the great hall, any news would quickly spread.

The three Ninth-Layer cultivators stationed here were not only ensuring the smooth progress of the Dragon Spring Convention but also providing necessary intervention and command.

However, there was still some regret. This Fourth-Layer cultivator had entered Hundred Peaks Mountain in the wrong place. If he had come from the Green Feather Mountain's territory, he might have become an asset to them, but by choosing to enter through the Tai Luo Sect's land, he was unlikely to have a good outcome.

His only chance of survival was to retreat immediately. During the Dragon Spring Convention, the Tai Luo Sect wouldn't have much energy to pursue him.

Just as Tang Wu was thinking this, the white light point began to move again. Upon seeing its direction, Tang Wu knew the person was certainly doomed.

Han Zheyue, grinding her teeth, let out a cold laugh, "Good, very brave!"

The reason was simple: after killing five Tai Luo Sect cultivators, the white point hadn't retreated. Instead, it was pushing further into the interior of Hundred Peaks Mountain.

Qin Wanli chuckled from the side, "Where did this hothead come from? Doesn't he know that our three factions are holding the Dragon Spring Convention here?"

Tang Wu, however, extended his hand towards Han Zheyue, looking at her silently, his meaning clear.

"What's this? Have I lost? Who knows which faction this guy belongs to? He just killed a few of my Tai Luo Sect disciples; who can prove he's from the Vast Sky Alliance?" Han Zheyue was in a very bad mood at that moment, and her tone became much sharper.

There was a point to her words. On the Spirit Stream Battlefield, even members of the same faction could attack each other, and killing someone still earned merit points.

Tang Wu withdrew his hand and didn't press the matter further.

He had shared the same thought just moments ago. Ultimately, the previous wager was made on a whim, and everyone knew it would be difficult to hold the other party to it unless there was a definitive way to prove the white point's faction allegiance.

On the mountain peak, Lu Ye finished gathering his spoils and set off again on the great tiger. For him, the previous skirmish was merely a small interlude on his journey, affecting nothing.

However, to be safe, he still sent Yiyi ahead to scout. Yiyi's elusive nature made her perfect for the task.

Sitting on the tiger's back, Lu Ye popped a Spirit Nurturing Pill into his mouth to recover. The previous battle had started and ended quickly, so he hadn't expended much energy. If he hadn't used two spells at the last moment, his consumption would have been even lower.

As for Han Zheyue's assumption that he must be injured... that was not the case!

Still, traveling alone, maintaining a full reserve of spiritual power was undoubtedly a good habit.

Speaking of which, the Fire Phoenix spell was indeed powerful; a Second-Layer cultivator hit by it instantly lost their life. The only drawback was a slight feeling of embarrassment when casting it, which required a strong inner fortitude.

It seemed he would need to find time to study it thoroughly and try to change the spell's external form into something more conventional.

About a quarter of an hour later, Yiyi returned with very bad news: there were several more cultivators on the mountain ahead, heading straight towards them. It seemed they were part of the same group as those he had just killed.

Lu Ye was certain that the five slain cultivators hadn't managed to send out any messages before dying, as the battle had ended too quickly for them.

Yet, despite this, their companions were still coming to attack him. What was going on?

After a brief moment of thought, Lu Ye decided to retreat.

He didn't know the cultivation levels of the approaching cultivators. Yiyi had only seen several people and dared not get too close, so she couldn't determine their strength.

If their cultivation levels were low, Lu Ye was confident he could handle them, but if there were several Fifth-Layer cultivators or one or two Sixth-Layer cultivators among them, it would be troublesome.

Of course, this possibility was low, as this was still the outer circle of the battlefield.

Lu Ye simply felt the situation was off. He had encountered cultivators occasionally on his journey, but never with such frequency.

He merely suspected he might have trespassed into some faction's territory. However, the map indicated this was a junction of three forces, not belonging exclusively to any one of them.

Yiyi went to scout again. Soon, even worse news arrived: there were also people behind him, more than a dozen, converging to encircle him.

Lu Ye immediately sensed trouble. He could now confirm that he must have truly intruded into some faction's territory, otherwise, it wouldn't have triggered such a massive reaction.

By now, it was too late to retreat. Lu Ye could vaguely sense the spiritual power fluctuations emitted by those people, indicating that they were very close.

He patted Amber's body, changed direction, and veered off from the flank.

There were people in front and behind; surely, there couldn't be any on the side as well?

In the great hall, Han Zheyue's gaze was fixed with resentment on the white light point darting around Hundred Peaks Mountain. Orders were relayed, and wave after wave of black light points set out from various peaks, converging to encircle the white point.

She now had confirmed information: the invading cultivator was riding a large, snow-white tiger, making him extremely fast. The Tai Luo Sect cultivators pursuing him from behind couldn't keep up at all.

However, she didn't need her disciples to catch up to the enemy. Under her continuous coordination, a tight encirclement slowly formed. Around the white light point, there were at least thirty dense black points. No matter which direction he tried to break through, he would be attacked. If they could just delay him for a moment, the others would swarm him and hack him to mincemeat!

That such a thing could happen during the Dragon Spring Convention truly infuriated Han Zheyue. If she weren't prohibited from acting during the convention, she would have loved to personally capture the white tiger rider and make him suffer every torture imaginable!

On the tiger's back, Lu Ye's expression was extremely grim. After an hour of rushing, he found that not only had he failed to shake off the unknown enemies, but the situation was growing increasingly dire.

Yiyi no longer went out to scout because enemies were everywhere!

He couldn't quite understand how the enemies had completed this encirclement. For the better part of the day, he had been riding Amber, dashing left and right, with no discernible pattern to his route. Yet, despite this, he was still surrounded.

There was no escaping now; the only option was to fight his way out!

Lu Ye gently patted the tiger's back with one hand and gripped his sabre hilt with the other. Amber, as if sensing his intent, let out a roar, dramatically increased its speed, and charged forward to break through.
