Chapter 107: I am Lu, styled Yiye

When Hua Ci rushed back to Ying Mountain, Ruan Lingyu came to greet her.

"How are things?" she asked.

Ruan Lingyu replied gravely, "The injuries are very severe." She had never seen anyone so severely injured in her life. Frankly, she found it astonishing that Lu Ye was still alive. Practically every inch of his body was damaged; such injuries made living seem more painful than dying.

"Are you Senior Sister Hua Ci? Please, please save Lu Ye," Yiyi stepped forward, looking up at Hua Ci with an expression full of pleading.

Hua Ci looked over, slightly surprised. Lu Ye had been alone last time; this time, a sweet-looking young girl had brought him.

Beside them lay a huge tiger, sprawled on the ground. The tiger should have been pure white, but blood had stained most of its body crimson.

It lay there, its chest and abdomen rising and falling continuously...

Without further ado, Hua Ci asked, "Where is he?"

Ruan Lingyu said, "The place where he stayed before."

"I'll go see."

A short while later, in the bamboo house where Lu Ye had previously stayed, Hua Ci saw the young man, who seemed to be drenched in blood. Even though she was accustomed to seeing injured cultivators, she couldn't help but frown.

These injuries... they were simply too severe.

She stepped closer to examine Lu Ye's condition, her frown deepening.

Just then, the unconscious Lu Ye slowly regained consciousness, opening his eyes and gazing blurrily at the woman sitting beside him.

Their eyes met, and Hua Ci chuckled, "Well, who is this? We certainly have a strong connection, meeting again so soon."

Lu Ye felt a bit awkward... Regardless, his unannounced departure last time had indeed been somewhat improper.

"Such severe injuries, even immortals would struggle to save him, even immortals," Hua Ci slowly shook her head, speaking the most heartbreaking words in the softest voice. "If you have any last words, say them quickly, before it's too late."

"Waaah..." Yiyi, standing nearby, immediately burst into tears.

Ruan Lingyu's nose also tingled, her eyes turned red, and she couldn't help but hug Yiyi, letting her express her emotions against her chest.

"Why... why scare children?" Lu Ye spoke weakly. "Don't listen to her... nonsense."

He tremblingly reached into his storage bag, fumbled a bit, and pulled out a bottle of pills.

Hua Ci said, "If I say you're beyond saving, then you're beyond saving. Quickly, drag him out and bury him."

Lu Ye took out another bottle of pills...

Hua Ci let out a soft snort, subtly pocketing the two bottles of pills. She said indifferently, "It's not impossible to try and save him." Turning to Ruan Lingyu, she instructed, "Lingyu, go boil a pot of hot water." She then looked at Yiyi, "You stay here and help."

Ruan Lingyu immediately assented and rushed outside, leaving Yiyi standing there, looking flustered.

She looked at Lu Ye, only to find that he had fallen unconscious again at some point.

"He won't die!" Hua Ci continuously took items out of her storage bag, preparing for treatment. "Help me take off his clothes!"

"Take... take off his clothes?" Yiyi was startled.

"He's covered in injuries; how can I save him without taking off his clothes? If you want him to die, then don't take them off."

"I'll do it!" Yiyi immediately responded, her posture as if she were undressing herself, gritting her teeth and walking to the bedside with a determined stride.

The hot water was quickly ready, and Hua Ci had already begun treating Lu Ye. The entire room pulsed with an emerald green light, radiating warmth and vitality.

Ruan Lingyu ran out with a flushed face, guarding the doorway, ready for any instructions. Under Hua Ci's guidance, Yiyi used hot water to clean the grime around Lu Ye's wounds.

The busy work finally ceased around noon.

Compared to his previous injuries, Lu Ye's current wounds, though more severe and frightening in appearance, were actually much better. After all, these were caused by sharp weapons, whereas his last injuries were from a magical art, and the two situations were different.

It was just that there were too many wounds, making the treatment quite troublesome.

Hua Ci wiped the sweat from her forehead and turned to Yiyi, "Does the big tiger outside need treatment?"

Yiyi nodded her head vigorously, like a chick pecking at rice. "Yes, he does."

In just this short half-day, she had witnessed Hua Ci's medical skills firsthand. Under her care, Lu Ye's breathing had become significantly more stable, and while his face was still pale, it was better than before. There was no doubt that the beautiful Senior Sister before her was a medical cultivator.

Amber also had injuries, though not as severe as Lu Ye's. As Amber's attached spirit, Yiyi could clearly sense Amber's condition.

"Then the medical fees will be charged to him," Hua Ci said, pushing the door open and leaving. A moment later, Amber's grunts and whimpers could be heard from outside.

It was a full day later that Lu Ye woke up again.

He felt very weak, and pain radiated from various parts of his body, especially his right lung. Yet, he knew this was a good sign; if his right lung had remained numb, that would have been the real problem.

"Lu Ye, you're awake!" Yiyi's voice rang out, and her face immediately drew close, looking at him with delighted surprise.

Lu Ye offered her a faint smile, wanting to get up, but he had no strength. Yiyi then helped him sit up and lean against the headboard.

He glanced over and saw Hua Ci sitting nearby, holding a bowl of emerald green medicinal broth.

Lu Ye's expression soured.

"Since you're awake, drink the medicine then," Hua Ci leaned forward, offering the medicinal broth.

Lu Ye tried to lift his hand but couldn't, so he just looked at her longingly.

Hua Ci sighed helplessly, got up, and fed the broth to Lu Ye. As she did so, she murmured, "One spiritual pill per dose of medicine."

"Cough, cough, cough, cough..." Lu Ye nearly choked to death, thinking this heartless woman was truly obsessed with money.

"Dare to spit it out, and I'll shove the bowl into your mouth!" Hua Ci said with a smile, her voice as gentle as water.

Yiyi turned to look at Hua Ci in disbelief, as if she were seeing her for the first time.

After Lu Ye finished the medicine, Hua Ci checked his condition again and nodded. "Good, plenty of vital energy and blood means faster recovery than others."

Hua Ci had said this before; Lu Ye's vital energy and blood were much stronger than those of other cultivators at the same level, which had initially made her wonder if he was pursuing body cultivation.

"Then let's begin today's treatment," Hua Ci clapped her hands.

Yiyi immediately walked outside.

Lu Ye was puzzled. Only when Hua Ci pulled back the covers did he realize he wasn't wearing clothes, though he was thankfully thoroughly bandaged from head to toe, truly wrapped up like a zongzi.

The emerald green light began to shimmer, and Lu Ye lay prone on the bed, feeling the pain and tingling at his wounds.

"Didn't you say your name was Yi Ye?" Hua Ci suddenly asked. "Why does that little girl, Yiyi, call you Lu Ye?"

Lu Ye had stayed here for half a month last time, so he had naturally told Hua Ci his name.

"My surname is Lu, and my courtesy name is Yi Ye," Lu Ye explained, very seriously.

"Is that so?" Hua Ci responded casually.

A sharp gasp escaped Lu Ye as he suddenly felt a piercing pain from his back.

"Oh dear, my hand slipped, my apologies," Hua Ci chuckled softly.

"Don't you dare!" Lu Ye was so angry his lungs ached.

"This is not the proper attitude for a patient towards their healer," Hua Ci's tone began to soften.

Lu Ye's face darkened, sensing trouble.
