Chapter 593: The Weakest Team

Di Ma writhed on the ground in excruciating pain, his face a mask of agony. Since his right ankle was nailed to the floor, he didn't dare move a muscle.

His scream was quite loud, causing several people in the room to turn and look, while Bai Lan Gou and She Xu Shu kept their eyes fixed on the door.

With the commotion growing by the minute, could this situation still be kept under wraps?

Hei Yang reached up coldly to undo his shirt buttons, trying to loosen his neck a bit, then spat a mouthful of blood onto the ground. "Di Ma, your little schemes should end right here..."

Di Ma couldn't even respond; he just lay on the ground screaming in pain.

Zhong Dou, who was fighting Pei Qian Hu, paused upon seeing this. He turned to look at Hei Yang and, after a few seconds, furrowed his brow and asked,

"Are you out of your mind...? Did you just sever the tendon of a 'Di Ji'?"

"Oh...? Is that so? 'Tendon' and all..." Di Yang wore a nonchalant expression of apology. "How was I supposed to know that's where the tendon was? It was just an accidental slip. If you need it, I can apologize right now."

Seeing the other's ruthlessness, Zhong Dou couldn't help but feel uneasy. One Pei Qian Hu was already tough to handle, and with a lurking Hei Yang behind him, could he really get out of this fight unscathed?

Di Hu wiped the blood from his face and took a few steps forward. "You short pig, scratching with your nails in a fight—what's the difference from a kid?"

Hearing this, everyone in the room glanced down at Zhong Dou's fingers. He seemed to have grown his nails specifically as weapons, and now they were covered in white fur and reddened flesh.

"Zhong Dou, I have a few words I want to say," Hei Yang said. "Are you going to give me some time to explain, or are we going to fight again?"

Although Hei Yang was speaking, he still bent down to pick up another table leg from the ground, then tore it open to reveal a sharp end.

Zhong Dou wasn't afraid of the threats from the two, but the situation was indeed tricky now. He had two "Di Ji" right in front of him and three more "Di Ji" standing by as spectators. When Di Ma had come to find him, he never mentioned there were so many opponents here.

"Short pig, I'm talking to you!" Di Hu snapped, taking a few steps forward, showing no intention of backing down.

"Forget it, I'm not fighting anymore," Zhong Dou said.

As soon as he said this, some people breathed a sigh of relief, while others started to feel confused.

The whole thing had already spiraled out of control. Zhong Dou had come here so confidently to "capture the rebels," but now he was saying he wouldn't fight? How was this going to end?

"You bring this horse here all bold and brash to my place, and now you're saying you're not fighting?" Di Hu frowned, his confusion plain on his face.

"Yeah... I..." Zhong Dou trailed off. Then, taking advantage of Di Hu's momentary distraction, he kicked hard at Di Hu's knee.

Smack!

A crisp sound rang out. Luckily, Di Hu's legs were extremely sturdy, so the kick didn't break his knee, but it still caused immense pain, making him grunt and drop to one knee.

Without hesitation, Zhong Dou flipped around behind Di Hu, one hand gripping Di Hu's chin and the other extending three fingers, using his nails to pinch Di Hu's throat.

The atmosphere fell silent in an instant, as Di Yang, Di Gou, Di Shu, and Di Tu in the room all stared blankly at the scene, unsure of what he was about to do.

"Don't you all get too cocky," Zhong Dou snorted. "If any of you make a move, I'll crush his throat right now."

He had originally thought Di Hu was the "ringleader" of this rebellion and capturing him would give him leverage over the whole group. But strangely, no one reacted at all.

Di Yang blinked and asked, "Let me confirm—are you threatening me with Pei Qian Hu's life right now?"

Hearing this question, Zhong Dou was a bit stumped: "What...?"

"Kill him," Di Yang gestured toward Zhong Dou with his chin. "No need for anything else—just kill him first."

"Are you acting all high and mighty with me...?" Zhong Dou frowned. "Aren't you two both students of Bai Yang?!"

"So what?" Hei Yang shrugged indifferently. "For years, the two of us have wanted to kill each other, but we couldn't do it because of appearances. You might as well help me out. Stop wasting time—just kill him."

Suddenly feeling isolated, Zhong Dou turned to the three onlookers: "Don't any of you care? If I kill him, you'll be 'leaderless'!"

The three exchanged glances, finding it hard to relate.

Two of them were meeting Di Hu for the first time, and the only one who knew him, Bai Lan Gou, just had a completely indifferent expression.

To him, Di Hu was just a "familiar zodiac acquaintance"—not an enemy, but barely a "friend."

"You... you all..." Zhong Dou scanned the crowd in confusion. "What's going on with this team of yours? Is this how you 'rebel,' full of holes like this?"

He really couldn't understand it. Everyone said a team should minimize weaknesses to build strength, but this team seemed made entirely of weaknesses.

People talked about the "bucket effect," but these weaknesses had just formed a "dish."

Leaderless, each with their own agenda, unwilling to save each other, full of internal conflicts... What kind of bizarre team was this?

"Leader Zhong, don't talk nonsense!" Di Shu, who had been silent for a while, spoke up. "What's all this about 'rebelling' or not? If you want to rebel, don't drag Di Hu into it—just do it yourself!"

"You... what the hell are you babbling about?" Zhong Dou was stunned.

Di Shu sneered, pulled the metal table leg out from Di Ma's ankle—eliciting another scream—and slowly pressed it against Di Ma's neck.

"Leader Zhong, there are five of us and only one of you," Di Shu said with a smile. "If this pipe goes in, you'll not only be guilty of 'rebellion' but also 'zodiac killing.' After all, there's no 'Ears' on the 'Train'—our five testimonies will be the truth."

"You..." Zhong Dou narrowed his eyes, his gaze darting among the others as if searching for a way out. After thinking for a moment, he spotted Di Ma lying on the ground in pain and said, "I can't just let this go. You all crippled the person I brought, so there has to be some accountability. Otherwise, I'll come back with my many students to demand an explanation."
