Chapter 403: All People

"Su Shan, there's no one there," Zhang Chenze said. "Did you see it wrong?"

"See it wrong...?" Su Shan slowly widened her eyes, turning them blood red again, as the two humanoid outlines became even clearer. "I didn't see it wrong... There are people standing there..."

Su Shan smiled and took a step forward. "Can't you see them? A man and a woman are standing there. What are they doing...? Why aren't they moving...?"

The group glanced at the display screen and the giant clock, feeling a sense of unease.

"Hey..." Lin Geng reached out and grabbed Su Shan. "It seems like you're experiencing 'Hui Xiang' overload. You need to stay clear-headed... Remember, you're the one controlling 'Hui Xiang', not the other way around."

"No... I'm fine..." Su Shan turned back to look at Lin Geng, tears of blood streaming from her eyes again. "I can see even more clearly now... I'm reexamining this world..."

Qin Dingdong slowly furrowed her brow. The last time she had worked with Su Shan, it was only indoors, and she had never taken her outside, so now she wasn't sure if Su Shan was going mad or really seeing something.

"Lin Geng... Your 'Guang Mang' is so warm..." Su Shan continued to smile as she reached out and grasped Lin Geng's wrist. "It's filled with the word 'Ji Fa' all around you... Like a warm sun."

Then she looked at Zhang Chenze. "Chen Ze, your 'Guang Mang' has a special shape. It's floating above your head, drifting with murky 'Hun Qian'. From afar, you look like a black lighthouse."

Hearing the words "black lighthouse," Zhang Chenze's expression darkened noticeably.

"Xiao Shan, you really need to rest now. We don't need to know the shape of our 'Hui Xiang' right now, but you should close your eyes for a bit." Qin Dingdong turned to Lin Geng and said, "Old Lin, let's take her inside to sit down for a while."

"Okay..." Lin Geng nodded. Just as she was about to pull Su Shan, she was pushed away by her.

Su Shan smiled as she scanned her surroundings and said, "Have you noticed? The 'people' are increasing..."

"What 'people'?" the three of them asked, looking around. There was only ruined architecture here.

"We're surrounded by 'people'..." Su Shan laughed. "'Zhong Yan Zhi Di' has so many people? How lively..."

She slowly walked a few steps to an old streetlight and reached out to touch the pole.

"Why aren't you moving...?" Su Shan asked with a smile. "Have you been standing here all along?"

"Su Shan..." Zhang Chenze tried to step forward to stop her, but the other two held her back.

"Chen Ze, it's no use..." Lin Geng said with a regretful expression. "We can only wait for next time..."

The three watched as Su Shan talked to the streetlight, feeling a mix of emotions. Without her eyes, they would have all died in Di Gou's game by now.

But precisely because of those eyes, Su Shan had lost her sanity.

The 'Hui Xiang' affecting the eyes seemed different from other 'Hui Xiang'.

After all, human curiosity is endless. People don't pay attention to things they can't see. But once they start seeing vague outlines, they want to see them more clearly.

Now, Su Shan wanted to see those vague outlines clearly, as well as all the 'Guang Mang' around her.

Those eyes would be the death of her.

"How strange..." Su Shan turned back with a smile and looked at the group. "Did you hear that person speaking?"

The group noticed her eyes had turned a dark red, looking especially terrifying.

Zhang Chenze looked at the streetlight in front of her and shook her head heavily. "I didn't hear anything."

"I didn't hear it either..." Su Shan's expression gradually became vacant. "That person has been mouthing words, but I can't hear what they're saying... I thought my ears were broken too..."

She then carefully examined the many 'people' around her... They seemed to be speaking, but it was completely silent.

"How interesting..." Su Shan paused. "It's like watching a TV with the sound muted..."

"Old Lin..." Qin Dingdong whispered, "I should just kill her. This isn't working."

"Sigh..." Lin Geng sighed. "Do you still have the strength? Su Shan used to be a police officer, so she's probably trained..."

"It's fine; I'll find a rock. Even if she's trained, smashing her straight in the head..."

"What are you two discussing?" Zhang Chenze asked, stunned.

"Chen Ze..." Lin Geng frowned as she looked at her. "We're planning to send Su Shan on her way. It sounds unreasonable, but you'll get used to things like this eventually..."

Zhang Chenze thought it over carefully. Though it seemed unfair, it was truly a last resort.

If Su Shan continued to survive the remaining six days in this state, it would be torture for her as well.

"In that case, I'll do it..." Zhang Chenze said after a moment of thought. "You two don't have the physical strength for this task."

With that, she walked to the side and picked up a rock from the road.

The other two stared at her blankly, thinking this woman was a bit too rational.

Could a 'new hand' really prepare themselves mentally for this at the beginning?

Zhang Chenze held the rock and quietly approached Su Shan from behind, feeling that this scene was somewhat familiar, yet different.

This time, she was killing someone who had been good to her, which made her feel sad.

"But I've already committed murder..." Zhang Chenze gritted her teeth and raised the rock in her hand.

At that moment, Su Shan was facing away from her, slowly lifting her head to look at the sky.

A moment later, Su Shan stepped back half a step, nearly bumping into Zhang Chenze.

"What...?" Su Shan looked at the sky with a puzzled and surprised expression.

Zhang Chenze had intended to strike then, but her curiosity got the better of her, and she followed Su Shan's gaze upward.

In the sky, there was only a dull yellow sun with faint black lines.

"Do you see..." Su Shan slowly raised her hand, her expression turning into a smile. "This place is really so lively... There's even a woman floating in the sky. Why is she up there?"

The three listening felt a chill run down their spines.

Where was anyone in the sky?

The dark red sky was empty, not even a cloud in sight, with only the lone sun hanging there.

"Won't you come down to play...?" Su Shan extended her hands in a hugging gesture. "Floating so high... Isn't that dangerous?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Su Shan's pupils turned pure black, and black blood began to cover her face.

In just a few seconds, her hands dropped, and she collapsed to the ground.

Zhang Chenze was startled and quickly set down the rock to check Su Shan's pulse. She had already died.

Not far away, the display screen rang with a bell, and 'Ling Shi' vanished.
