Chapter 243: Plot

Work?

Novel?

I suddenly had a great idea—why not write a novel! Back in the day, I casually made up a story, and it caused such a huge stir, which proves I have a real talent for it!

So, I started slowly gathering materials and brainstorming ideas. I was really optimistic about my work because it would not only showcase my talents but also serve as proof that I once existed in this world—it would be evidence of my being.

At first, I set up an incredibly vast worldview, planning to write a time-travel novel where the protagonist keeps crossing into historical periods to complete missions.

But I was wrong; it was beyond my capabilities. I only had a day and a half, yet this book would need at least a million words to finish. Could a normal person type a million words in a day and a half without eating, drinking, or sleeping?

I tried many times, but no matter what, I couldn't get it to the end. The closest I got was when I heavily condensed the story, leaving just the final chapter, but then I inexplicably decided to proofread it one more time before the earthquake hit. That proofreading ruined my chance to finish.

A day and a half was just too short. I didn't have the courage to start over.

With my typing speed at only around four thousand words per hour, how on earth could I finish a novel in just one day?

So, I came up with a second idea. I created a character named Chu Qi, who wields the Qi Hei Jian and roams the martial arts world, punishing evildoers.

This novel was projected to be around two hundred thousand words, and if I pushed myself, I was confident I could finish it in a day and a half.

But then, my life took a turn. After how many cycles did I finally meet that person? Let me think—it was about two hundred and sixty cycles.

That day, I had just finished writing the entire Qi Hei Jian, and I was in an excellent mood. It was the seventh time I'd completed it in a single day, and I was getting more and more familiar with the plot. The process was becoming second nature.

I grabbed a can of beer, as I always did, and sat at home drinking while waiting for the earthquake. Feeling great that day, I planned to head into the room and immediately start arguing with Chen Jun Nan.

When I opened my eyes in the room, everyone around me looked shocked, but I knew they were just stuck, so I didn't pay it much mind. But a few seconds later, I was shocked too.

There was an extra person in the room! What the hell?!

I'd woken up in a room with eight people for two hundred and sixty cycles straight, so why were there nine this time?!

Two minutes later, I calmed down. The new guy was a young man, and he looked pretty good, but based on my experience, good-looking people usually aren't that bright. Just like Chen Jun Nan.

I glanced at Chen Jun Nan, and that glance startled me. His face was streaked with tears, and he was smiling in a strangely complicated way, staring intently at the new person. He seemed like he wanted to say something but couldn't get it out, ending up with a completely twisted smile.

What was going on? Did they know each other?

I'd never seen Chen Jun Nan make that expression before—he looked like he was going crazy!

Well... maybe it's not so bad if he's gone crazy. I thought to myself, that way, he might actually follow my instructions and vote as I say.

Once everyone had shared their stories, before I could even guide the voting, the new guy suddenly picked up a pen and paper and started calculating.

What was he figuring out?

In no time, he shared his deduction, and it left me totally baffled.

Oxygen? Oxygen levels?!

Oh my god... so the grid on the wall was for calculating the area?! And the clock in the center was for timing?!

I take back what I said... this guy doesn't seem stupid at all.

He introduced himself as Qi Xia.

He was incredibly smart; he wasn't here to cause trouble... He was just like a character from one of my novels—a "savior"!

Of course! Why didn't I think of that? This person must have come specifically to save me and get me out!

But then, something completely unexpected happened. Even after we all voted for the person-sheep, the game didn't end.

This damn place had a second round! Called "Yu Hou Chun Sun"!

I'd never seen anything like it... I was terrified!

Even with the "savior" right beside me, I couldn't hold back my fear.

I ended up getting speared through the throat with a harpoon and died on the spot!

Damn it!

Damn it!!

What kind of lousy luck is this?!

But luckily, I now have hope. It seems writing novels was a smart move after all—I can gradually explain my situation using the plots from my stories.

This is called "Wu Xian Chong Sheng." As the protagonist, I'll face some setbacks at the beginning, and Chen Jun Nan is just one of those setbacks. It's all about building up for a big breakthrough, a classic writing technique of suppressing before elevating.

After going through these trials, my "savior" will appear, and that's Qi Xia. As long as I follow him, we'll keep completing tasks together, and I'll slowly find a way out. I might even become an unbeatable force in the world.

It's exactly like in the novels.

I'm actually looking forward to the next earthquake!!

Ha! Savior!! Here I come!!

But when I opened my eyes in the room again, I was confused once more.

Now there were ten people in the room...

I'm really at a loss—what does this mean? Another woman has shown up?

What is this place? Can people just come and go as they please?

This isn't in the novel at all!

What shocked me even more was that Chen Jun Nan got killed by the sheep-headed person less than a minute after waking up! I was torn between joy and worry... Chen Jun Nan's death meant no more interference, but why did it happen? Would I be next?

Well... it doesn't matter.

Anyway, Qi Xia is still as sharp as ever, and no matter what he decides in the next game, I'll trust him completely.

I've not only read novels but written them too—I know the drill. The protagonist can't be foolish; you have to stick with the capable senior to reach the best ending.

But that harpoon is terrifying. Since I got speared through the throat last time, I started shaking early this time, and I couldn't control it. Even with the "savior" nearby, I couldn't stop.

I kept muttering to myself, "Don't hit me," but I still got hit.

This time, though, I didn't die—just got speared through the shoulder.

I get it... it's just another setback for the protagonist.

Don't think I'm down because of the injury—I'll have a lucky turn soon... In novels, when the protagonist gets hurt, a beautiful doctor usually shows up with miracle pills, and I'll just need to take one to...

Damn it, I can't keep making this up—my shoulder hurts like hell.

Novel protagonists never complain about pain, but now that I've experienced it, it feels a bit fake... Next time, I should revise the plot. Let the character feel pain when it's appropriate, make him more real and human.

I have to give credit to Qi Xia—he's seriously impressive. Without him, I'd never have realized there are four games in this room.

Stuff with sheep, dogs, snakes, and all that.

Even if a whole zoo showed up, I wouldn't be scared. After all, I've got the "savior" with me—what can you do to me?

He's here specifically to save me, cutting through obstacles along the way.

Clearly, this is my story of rising to godlike status.
