Chapter 606: Want Him to Die?

A massive gash tore through the manor. The previously vibrant atmosphere within the estate had already fallen into a deathly silence. Chief disciples from all factions watched the scene in horror, not daring to utter a sound.

Who could have imagined that Jinchanzi would attack so directly?

Generally, the rules between sects dictated combat between Saint Sons. It was exceedingly rare for a Saint Son to attack a chief disciple, as such a victory would be considered dishonorable.

Yet, at this moment, Jinchanzi not only made a move but also launched a direct sneak attack.

Such a swift and sudden assault would have instantly killed any other chief disciple present.

From a pavilion.

Zuoqiu Qingyu abruptly rose, her captivating face now pale. By the window, Lu Chunjun and Ning Zhan's expressions also turned grave. Although Zhen Xu from the Heavenly Ghost Mansion remained outwardly calm, his fists involuntarily clenched within his sleeves.

This sudden turn of events shocked everyone.

Even the chief disciples from the other four sects present turned slightly pale, and a deep fear flickered in their eyes. Jinchanzi's previous strike had been delivered without any reservation.

If that attack had been aimed at them, they would have had no chance of escape.

This third-ranked Saint Son of the Sacred Palace was utterly ruthless and disregarded all rules.

On the plaza, Tang Muxin and her companions were stunned. After a few breaths, they finally snapped out of it, looking at the horrifying gash beside them, their entire bodies trembling.

They felt both anger and fear.

If that strike had been directed at them, none of them would have survived.

"Jinchanzi... how dare you!" Tang Muxin pointed a trembling finger at Jinchanzi, her eyes bloodshot. "You've broken the rules! The Saint Sons of my Cangxuan Sect will not forgive you!"

Jinchanzi smiled indifferently. "So what if the rules are broken?" he said. "If your Cangxuan Sect's Saint Sons wish to come, my Sacred Palace will be ready for them."

"Besides, I highly doubt your Cangxuan Sect's Saint Sons would wage war against my Sacred Palace just for a chief disciple."

His golden, slit pupils shifted towards the collapsed pavilion in the distance. The Palace Master had explicitly stated he didn't care whether Zhou Yuan lived or died, so bringing back a corpse should be perfectly acceptable.

Tang Muxin gritted her teeth. "Zhou Yuan is different!" she insisted. "Even if other Saint Sons might prioritize the bigger picture, there's someone who absolutely will not let you get away with this!"

She was, of course, referring to Yaoyao.

While the reaction of other Saint Sons remained uncertain, Tang Muxin and her companions knew one thing for sure: once Yaoyao became aware of this incident, she would disregard any greater consequences.

She would ensure Jinchanzi's death!

And Tuntun, who was comparable to a Saint Son!

Hearing this, Jinchanzi merely smiled noncommittally, clearly not taking Tang Muxin's words to heart.

Tang Muxin took a deep breath, then swiftly turned and rushed towards the ruins that had buried Zhou Yuan. She had to ensure he was still alive, because if Yaoyao were to find out, the consequences would be catastrophic.

At the same time, the other chief disciples of the Cangxuan Sect also reacted and quickly followed suit.

Jinchanzi watched the scene with a faint smile, making no move to stop them. He was supremely confident in his previous strike; he had held nothing back, and with Zhou Yuan's known strength, there should have been no chance of survival.

"Zhou Yuan!"

Tang Muxin and her companions reached the ruins, where Source Qi surged as they began lifting massive boulders.

"Stop shouting..."

Just as Tang Muxin and her companions were anxiously preparing the rescue, a voice seemed to rise from the rubble.

Tang Muxin and her companions instantly stiffened, staring at the ruins in disbelief, as if questioning if their ears were deceiving them.

"Was that Zhou Yuan's voice?" Jin Zhang asked hesitantly.

The others exchanged bewildered glances, finding it hard to believe. They had clearly sensed the terrifying power of Jinchanzi's earlier attack. Zhou Yuan had been hit squarely; even with his strong physical body, it seemed utterly impossible for him to have withstood it.

As they stood there in disbelief, a massive boulder was suddenly blasted away from the ruins, and a dust-covered, somewhat dishevelled figure slowly rose from within.

Tang Muxin and her companions stared at the figure, dumbfounded, their minds reeling.

They saw clearly that although the figure was covered in dust, it was completely unharmed.

Zhou Yuan had taken Jinchanzi's fierce sneak attack and was completely unharmed?

Not only were they stunned, but gasps of astonishment also erupted throughout the previously silent manor. Dozens of eyes stared in horror at the figure standing atop the ruins.

"How is that possible?!"

From the pavilion, the chief disciples of the other four sects couldn't help but cry out in shock.

Judging by Jinchanzi's demeanor, it was clear he had not held back at all. But why was that figure still alive?

Zuoqiu Qingyu's tightly strung nerves finally relaxed. She sat down, her small hand covering her chest, and gritted her teeth. "This guy is truly terrifying," she muttered.

Immediately, however, she turned her gaze of astonishment back to the distant figure. She, too, couldn't comprehend why Zhou Yuan was completely unharmed.

Amidst countless shocked gazes, Zhou Yuan lightly brushed the dust from his body. Then he raised his head, looked at Jinchanzi in the distance, and smiled faintly. "You vertically-eyed bastard," he said, "is this all your Sacred Palace taught you?"

In the distance, Huo Tian and the others were also visibly shocked, clearly having not expected Zhou Yuan to survive.

Jinchanzi was clearly momentarily stunned. The faint smile on his lips then receded slightly as his golden, slit pupils stared indifferently at Zhou Yuan. "You're actually still alive," he said slowly. "You truly have a tenacious life."

Zhou Yuan twisted his neck, his expression calm, yet a chilling coldness and fury gathered in his eyes.

He lowered his head to look at his palm, where a mystical yellow liquid slowly dripped, vanishing without a trace as it touched the ground.

That was the Dragon Saliva True Water he had obtained from the Genesis Pool Festival.

This item possessed incredibly potent defensive capabilities, capable of withstanding a full-power strike from a Saint Son.

Jinchanzi's sneak attack truly caught Zhou Yuan off guard. At that crucial moment, he activated the Dragon Saliva True Water, thus narrowly escaping disaster.

This time, if not for the Dragon Saliva True Water, even if he hadn't died, he would have been severely and miserably wounded.

In the distance, Jinchanzi's golden, slit pupils blinked slightly. "You are indeed quite interesting, kid," he said. "No wonder you've drawn the attention of those above."

"While I don't know why you're unharmed, I doubt it's your innate ability. If my guess is correct, it must be some sort of protective treasure, right?"

"Such items must have their limitations, correct?"

"So... it can save you once, but can it save you twice... or ten times?"

Jinchanzi smiled, as astonishing emerald-green Source Qi slowly emanated from his body. A wave of oppressive Source Qi pressure swept forth, causing all the chief disciples present to blanch with fear.

A hint of killing intent laced Jinchanzi's voice. Clearly, the ineffectiveness of his previous strike had angered him, and now, he intended to truly unleash his power.

Zhou Yuan naturally sensed the dangerous aura from Jinchanzi, and a chill flickered in his eyes. He felt no fear. Jinchanzi's strength was indeed formidable, but when Zhou Yuan was truly on guard, it would not be so easy for him to be killed.

"You're still not running away?"

Jinchanzi couldn't help but smile upon seeing Zhou Yuan remain rooted to the spot.

"In that case, then just die..." He took a step forward, ready to strike.

However, the instant he took that step, his body suddenly froze. He had sensed an extremely dangerous fluctuation, one that made the skin all over his body prickle.

He slowly raised his head, looking as if he were facing a formidable foe, towards the top of a stone tower not far away.

There, a stunning girl in green stood against the wind, her figure slender and graceful, her exquisite face dazzlingly beautiful. At this moment, her clear eyes were fixed on Jinchanzi with an indifferent gaze, utterly devoid of emotion.

"You want him to die?"

Her red lips parted slightly, and an utterly bone-chilling voice slowly echoed.
