Hearing this, Li Huowang immediately deflated, momentarily at a loss for words.
"Don't worry about that for now; I don't have time to explain! We're under attack! Get your weapons ready! Move!"
No sooner had Li Huowang finished speaking than subtle movements could be heard outside the door.
"Shh! Something dangerous is approaching! That's the sound of a gun being loaded," Qing Wanglai whispered, his expression changing. He immediately drew his pistol and swiftly flicked off the safety.
"Why didn't we notice them earlier? How did that madman's prediction come true so quickly? What a jinx," grumbled Ba Nanxu, who was chewing something, as he stood up from the sofa.
Beside him, Zhao Shuangdian remained silent, watching Li Huowang with keen interest.
"Li Huowang, your condition is unstable. Stay inside and don't move. I'll go out with the others," Qing Wanglai said, grabbing his weapon and leading the group towards the main door.
Li Huowang scoffed, "That's more like it; at least they're somewhat useful." Then, he charged towards the distant worm mountain, accompanied by his other self.
Their interference would, at the very least, prevent the two Si Mings from receiving any more reinforcements.
If the Si Mings of the Blessed Heavens could simply invade Baiyujing's territory at will, what would that say about this place?
Nevertheless, it was clear that the Si Ming who had already arrived was a formidable opponent. Despite the two Li Huowangs' cultivation and various attempts, the voids continued to spread, and the grotesque worms relentlessly devoured Tianchenguo.
"Damn it!" An enraged Li Huowang stopped, pulled out his phone, and without hesitation, dialed Qing Wanglai's number. "Hello, it's me! Where's your household insecticide?"
"Don't ask me what I'm doing! Just tell me if you have it!"
Upon receiving an affirmative answer, Li Huowang immediately tossed his phone aside and rushed to the shoe cabinet.
He opened the shoe cabinet, retrieved the insecticide with the yellow packaging, shook it vigorously, and then pressed the nozzle firmly.
"Nana! Stay close! Grant these things death! We'll make sure the Si Ming of the Blessed Heavens never returns!"
With a hiss, Zuo Qiuyong's bulging worm mountain began to dissipate, gradually revealing the disgusting wormholes that riddled his entire body and face.
However, seeing Zuo Qiuyong covered in voids, Li Huowang felt a headache and was momentarily at a loss for what to do.
Zuo Qiuyong was currently under someone else's control. While the worms were easy to eliminate, the wormholes themselves remained. If these were not removed, the worms would simply keep growing back, no matter how many times they were killed.
Staring at the disgusting, dense voids, a frustrated Li Huowang suddenly had an idea. With a look of wild joy, he grabbed the phone from the sofa and dialed again. "Let Sister Chen in! I need her special ability!"
Soon, with continuous squelching sounds, all the flesh worms inside the voids burst out, much like the pustules on Chen Hongyu's face, ejecting fluid and all.
The next moment, the worm-free voids on Zuo Qiuyong's body began to rot and emit a foul odor. What was once a mountain of worms had completely transformed into a putrid mass of rotting flesh, its pungent smell almost tangible.
However, as the decaying flesh quickly receded, Zuo Qiuyong's new flesh began to regenerate. Once free from control, such an injury was negligible for Zuo Qiuyong, who commanded the Dao of growth.
Just as Li Huowang breathed a sigh of relief, believing the problem was solved, the sound of shattering glass erupted, and a dark, spherical object landed directly in front of him.
Upon seeing it, Li Huowang gasped, his scalp prickling with dread. "No! It's a grenade! Run!"
Li Huowang immediately spun around, grabbed Yang Na, and sprinted towards the distant bathroom.
Before they could reach cover, a deafening explosion blasted Li Huowang off his feet.
A moment later, in the dust-filled living room, a bloodied Yang Na, her head throbbing, painfully opened her eyes.
Her eyes focused on Li Huowang's bloodied and mangled back. When she realized he had thrown himself over her, acting as a human shield to protect her, tears streamed down her face from heartbreak.
She struggled to lift Li Huowang, then gazed at his heavily injured back, feeling a profound sense of helplessness.
Sobbing, Yang Na gently patted Li Huowang's face, desperately trying to rouse him.
Staring at the unconscious Li Huowang, Yang Na was overcome with terror. She was truly afraid that he might never wake up, that he might die.
"Li Huowang! You can't die! Do you hear me? You are absolutely not allowed to die without my command!"
"Cough, cough, cough!" Li Huowang coughed, then reached to his waist and pulled out a shard of glass embedded in his flesh.
Weakened, Li Huowang leaned forward, resting fully in Yang Na's embrace. "It's fine... I'm not going to die just yet."
"Why did you shield me? I'm the Si Ming who controls death; I can't die," Yang Na said, her voice filled with heartache.
Hearing her words, Li Huowang, aching all over, managed a bitter smile. He shook his head gently, then began to regulate his ragged breathing. "Go look in Fifth Sister's room; she has a medical kit."
Since the enemy had already attacked, this wouldn't be over so easily. Even injured, he knew it was no time to rest.
"Alright! Stay still then," Yang Na said, immediately turning away.
"So many people outside, yet they're targeting the people inside the room. It seems they're coming straight for me!" Li Huowang thought, as he continued pulling glass shards from his flesh.
Qing Wanglai's house was beautifully decorated, but the blast had turned those lovely furnishings into deadly shrapnel.
"Luckily, no vital organs were hit." Li Huowang struggled to the shattered wine cabinet, pulled out a bottle of liquor, and took a large swig to numb the pain. Then, he poured the rest of the bottle over the wound on his back.
The intense pain made Li Huowang tremble uncontrollably, his teeth clenching so hard he thought they might shatter.
Yet, the alcohol had an effect. Li Huowang's mind cleared, and his spirits noticeably improved.
Li Huowang pulled out his phone and dialed Qing Wanglai's number again, but after a long wait, he heard only static.
He tried calling others as well, but still, no one picked up.
"It seems they've started fighting, but why is there no gunfire outside?" Li Huowang muttered, dragging his injured body towards the door.
Before he could get close, another dark object landed at his feet. Seeing it so close, Li Huowang's mind went completely blank.
There was no time to run. Li Huowang hardened his resolve, swiftly scooped up the grenade with one hand, and hurled it with all his might out the window.
