Chapter 942: Eyes

A continuous ringing echoed in Li Huowang's ears. His body instantly lost consciousness and began to twitch uncontrollably, sinking weakly into the water.

"Huo... Huo..." Several faint voices seemed to drift from afar, almost inaudible.

Suddenly, his hearing seemed to return, and the voices became overwhelmingly loud. "Li Huowang!!"

As soon as the words ended, two large hands reached into the water and strenuously pulled him out.

"Li Huowang! Are you insane?! You're holding metal high during a thunderstorm! Are you tired of living?!" Wu Qi yelled at him, exasperated.

Li Huowang slowly lowered his head to look at the hand holding the knife, seeing it was scorched black. From the base of the burn, black scars snaked along his veins, spreading across his entire body.

Everything that had just happened flooded back into his dazed mind. Li Huowang suddenly realized he had been struck by lightning.

Wiping the seawater from his face, Li Huowang looked up at the vast, spiraling black cloud above, resembling a demonic deity.

Li Huowang took a deep breath, tilted his head back, and shrieked hysterically at the sky. "You want to kill me?! No way in hell!!"

He strained to lift Yang Na's body higher, clutching it tightly. "Death is on my side! Strike me down if you dare!!"

"How can you fight it?! This isn't the time to lose your mind, let's go." Qing Wanglai pulled Li Huowang's shoulder, trying to drag him underwater, but Li Huowang violently shook him off.

With a ferocious expression, he roared, "No! I can't leave!! If I leave, it's all over!! Yang Na will never come back!"

"We still have a chance! And if we retreat, they'll take the path of decay, pain, and death! If they grow stronger while we weaken, then we're truly finished!!"

Zhao Shuangdian's voice rang in Li Huowang's ear. "Li Huowang, I understand what you're feeling, but you've seen it yourself: this time, our enemy is a spiraling storm cloud! It's completely different from the factory last time. You can destroy a factory, but how do you destroy a typhoon?"

"It's not even a living thing; it has no life. How can you kill it?"

Hearing this, the roaring Li Huowang stopped. He slowly looked down at Yang Na beneath the water's surface and whispered to her, "Na Na, do you hear? This time, the Si Ming has no life, not even death."

Li Huowang suddenly smiled gently. "But it's okay, right? We have you. It has no death, but you are the Si Ming of Death, you can grant it death!!"

"That's right!" Suddenly, Li Huowang seemed to have an epiphany. Disregarding the surging waves around him, he propelled himself and Yang Na from beneath the surface towards the distant waterspout.

Even as he merely approached, the fierce winds prevented Li Huowang from breaking through the water's surface.

Underwater, Li Huowang removed his oxygen mask, kissed Yang Na fiercely, and used both hands to push her towards the surface.

As soon as Yang Na's body reached the surface, it was swiftly lifted by the gale, about to be swept into the sky like the cruise ship.

Watching Yang Na sway like a tattered rag above the water, a strong reluctance suddenly welled up in Li Huowang's heart. The hand he was about to release tightened its grip. "It's okay, it's okay! Don't be afraid, I won't let you face this alone. I'll be with you!"

With that, Li Huowang powerfully kicked his flippers, bursting from beneath the surface. The torrential storm above instantly swept them both up, hurtling them towards the towering water column between heaven and earth.

The strong wind made Li Huowang's soaked body cold, but he could barely feel it, his body already largely numb from the electric shock.

"It's okay, it's okay! Don't be afraid, Yang Na!" Li Huowang squinted, watching the approaching waterspout, and gripped the military knife in his hand with all his might.

"I've got it!" Just then, Zhao Shuangdian's voice suddenly rang in Li Huowang's ear. "I should have thought of it sooner! It's topology! My previous thinking was flawed!"

As the waterspout loomed directly before him, Li Huowang, caught in the fierce winds, roared, "What the hell is topology?!"

"Li Huowang! Listen to me! I'll guide you! Don't be rash! Release Yang Na, then grab her again after one second!" Zhao Shuangdian's tone uncharacteristically grew urgent.

Li Huowang hesitated for a split second, then immediately released Yang Na from his embrace.

Although he didn't know what she had discovered in her worldview, they were in this together now. Zhao Shuangdian wouldn't possibly harm him at this moment.

As Yang Na slipped from Li Huowang's grasp, her body drifted to the left, like a kite in the fierce wind.

"Now!" No sooner had Zhao Shuangdian spoken than Li Huowang's hand shot out, grasping the "kite string" tightly.

With the lift provided by the "kite," Li Huowang was instantly pulled much higher, rapidly sweeping past the left side of the waterspout.

"Release Yang Na! Strike it with the knife!"

Li Huowang gripped the military knife with both hands and roared as he slashed at the waterspout.

As an enormous force hit him, Li Huowang was instantly enveloped, and the scene before him spun at an incredibly fast pace.

When Li Huowang's vision blurred again, he found himself upside down, his body feeling a strong sense of weightlessness as if he were plummeting.

With a loud "thump," Li Huowang crashed onto the water's surface. Intense pain shot through him; his entire body felt as if it were about to break apart.

Many of his bones were broken. Using his last reserves of strength, Li Huowang crawled onto the nearby wreckage of a cruise ship.

Gasping for air, Li Huowang looked around. Compared to before, the sea here was eerily calm and quiet.

Although the thunderous, lightning-filled clouds still hung low and the sky remained dark, there was no wind anywhere—not a breath. The entire sea surface was as still as a mirror.

"Where... where is this? Why is it so strange?" Li Huowang suddenly noticed something, reached into the water, and pulled Yang Na out.

Yang Na had helped; death was now in place. He could kill this Si Ming very soon.

"This... typhoon... eye..." With a crackle, Zhao Shuangdian's voice cut out from his headset.

"The eye of the storm? I get it! So this is the Si Ming's weakness!" Li Huowang, aching all over, stood up again. He looked at the calm surroundings, gripped the military knife in his hand, and, using all his strength, plunged it into the water.

However, apart from a few ripples on the surface, nothing changed.

Li Huowang paused, stunned for a moment. He then stood up on the ship's wreckage, staring blankly at everything around him.

In the distance, the black clouds pressed in like a mountain range.
