Chapter 907: The Ghost Capital

Li Sui sat forlornly on the belly of a dead horse, her head bowed, her mouth pursed, lost in thought. Around her lay the scattered corpses of bandits, their deaths gruesome.

Meanwhile, Chen Bin and his performing apprentices stood silently to the side, frozen in fear. At this moment, escaping was out of the question; they didn't even dare to move.

He had miscalculated. The bandits were no match for this creature at all! It couldn't even harm a single hair on her body. This creature must have become a spirit!

After stewing in her anger, Li Sui turned around and bent down to search the bandits' waists for money, collecting it.

"G-great immortal! We'll help you, we'll help you!" After witnessing the supernatural power of the creature before him, Chen Bin no longer had any desire to resist. He was completely subdued.

"Thank you."

"Oh, no, no, not at all." Chen Bin waved his hands repeatedly, trembling with fear. At this point, he only hoped that he and his apprentices could be useful, so they wouldn't be swallowed alive by this creature.

"M-master, this girl might not be an evil creature, right? Why would an evil creature need money?"

Hearing this, everyone instinctively looked at Li Sui again. At that very moment, Li Sui lifted her skirt, and several black tentacles, wrapped in fur, emerged from within.

Seeing this scene, everyone's faces turned pale with fear. They immediately buried their heads and started rummaging through the corpses, not daring to think another thought.

Half an incense stick later, Chen Bin nervously held out some broken silver and copper coins to Li Sui. He forced a fawning smile onto his wrinkled face. "Great Immortal, this is truly all there is. We absolutely wouldn't dare to pocket even half a coin. As you know, these bandits were here to rob money, so they certainly wouldn't carry much silver themselves."

Li Sui pushed the money back into Chen Bin's arms, frowning deeply. She said very seriously, "Take me to Youdu! I want to go to Youdu!"

Chen Bin wouldn't dare refuse. He immediately nodded repeatedly. "Alright! To Youdu, we'll go to Youdu right now! Let's go!"

Following Li Sui's command, everyone immediately began to move, driving the carriage towards Youdu.

They hurried along the way, covering a ten-day journey in just seven days. They did so for no other reason than to get rid of this "great immortal" a day sooner.

"Great Immortal, look, we've arrived at Youdu." Chen Bin, his lips pale, shakily extended his hand and pointed to the bustling city gate.

Gazing at the familiar city gate before her, Li Sui's spirits, which had been low throughout the journey, finally lifted. "Wonderful! I can finally see my father!"

She had endured much hardship on this journey, and once she saw her parents, she intended to pour out her heart.

"Oh, right! I need to find the Emperor of Daqi! Father still needs dragon energy!" Li Sui exclaimed, and immediately ran inside.

Youdu was vast and prosperous, with shops selling all sorts of things lining the roads. However, Li Sui paid no attention to them and rushed straight towards the Imperial City at the very heart of Youdu.

However, before she could even approach the Imperial City, she was blocked by a group of people. They wore various kinds of clothing, but the only thing they had in common was the waist tokens they wore: tokens of the Sky Survey Bureau, similar to ones Li Sui had seen on her father.

Li Sui turned around and saw another group of people swarming up behind her; she was surrounded.

A burly military cultivator stepped forward. "Cough-ptui!" A glob of thick phlegm was spat in front of Li Sui. "You've got guts, coming to Youdu in broad daylight. Do you really think we're just decorations?"

It was clear that Li Sui had been targeted the moment she entered Youdu.

Li Sui looked at them and quickly explained, "Don't stop me, I have something urgent. Is Xuanpin here? I need to see Xuanpin."

"What Xuanpin? I don't know any Xuanpin!"

Hearing this, Li Sui was slightly taken aback. Xuanpin was their chief of the Sky Survey Bureau; how could they not know him?

But she quickly realized that Xuanpin was with the Sky Survey Bureau of Daliang, while this was Daqi. It was normal for them not to know Xuanpin.

"My apologies, I misspoke. Let me rephrase. Is your chief of the Sky Survey Bureau here? I have urgent business with him concerning the Dharma Sect. My father is helping you deal with the Dharma Sect."

However, this time, these people had no intention of listening to Li Sui's explanation. Their magical artifacts and weapons were already being hurled at her.

"What are you doing! I don't want to fight you! I'm on your side!" Li Sui dodged frantically, but she was still outnumbered. A silver Vajra pestle flew towards her with lightning speed, instantly piercing her left arm.

"You're all bullying me!" As Li Sui cried out, the human skin on her body tore open. A bloody, fleshy dog's head emerged from beneath her skirt, and tentacles burst from her clothes, flailing wildly.

"Don't kill her! Leave her alive! Find out exactly whose side's overt agent she is!!"

"Yes!" As soon as the words fell, the surrounding Sky Survey Bureau agents responded and began to close in on Li Sui from all directions.

A closed-eyed nun was the first to charge at Li Sui. With a sweep of her whisk, which was like a steel hook, three of Li Sui's tentacles snapped instantly, and blood spurted from the severed ends.

However, this was just the beginning. Two men in short tunics quickly pulled a carpenter's ink line, dripping with black liquid, into a giant net in the air and cast it over Li Sui.

Li Sui didn't want to just sit there and wait. Seven or eight tentacles immediately pulled out turmeric paper to prepare to draw talismans. But as a painted-face Taoist priest in the distance formed a hand seal with one hand, all the turmeric paper in Li Sui's hands instantly ignited, burning to ashes.

Without the turmeric paper, Li Sui couldn't use any talismans. If she had to rely on her flesh and blood to fight, she was no match for the military cultivators. In an instant, the situation became critical.

Some sharp-witted individuals among the surrounding Sky Survey Bureau agents naturally noticed Li Sui's predicament. The entire encirclement quickly tightened, determined to eliminate Li Sui completely.

Swish, swish, swish—Li Sui's tentacles were rapidly severed. The detached tentacles writhed quickly on the ground.

The pain throughout her body brought tears to Li Sui's eyes. But even if her tears ran dry, these people showed no intention of stopping.

Once they saw that she had no more tentacles, the military cultivators immediately stepped forward, forming a Flying Dragon Array, and charged towards her.

The long-handled sabers, imbued with malevolent energy, caused Li Sui anguish from several zhang away.

As she watched the long-handled sabers, like a wall of blades, crash towards her, Li Sui desperately shouted at them, "Get away from me! I want to go home!"

The next moment, something unexpected happened: the military cultivators' Flying Dragon Array seemed to be struck by something, instantly breaking apart, and everyone was sent flying.

It was important to remember that these military cultivators were all Imperial City guards, yet their Flying Dragon Array was so easily resisted.

"Be careful, this demon has another trick up its sleeve; don't be careless!"
