Chapter 434: Consecutive Attempts

Eighteen figures of Meng Chuan appeared between heaven and earth, seemingly real, making it difficult to distinguish true from false.

Meanwhile, Meng Chuan's true body stealthily moved through the deeper layers of the void. Thanks to his Cloud Mist Dragon Snake Body Art reaching the peak of the Law Domain Realm, he could penetrate further into the void, which also resulted in more avatars projecting into the external world.

“Junior Brother Meng,” Peng Mu called out.

“Hmm?”

His numerous figures dissipated as Meng Chuan stopped. He then saw his three senior brothers — True Martial King, Peng Mu, and Yun Jianhai — gathered together.

“What happened?” Meng Chuan flashed over, a hint of tension in his voice. “Has the world membrane been breached, and demon kings arrived in the World Gap?”

“No,” Peng Mu said with a chuckle. “We sensed a very unusual fluctuation. It seems a valuable treasure has appeared in the World Gap, quite possibly a Primeval treasure.”

“A valuable treasure has appeared?” Meng Chuan’s heart stirred with joy. He had been cultivating in the World Gap for over three years, during which only ordinary treasures occasionally descended. Nothing of the caliber of ‘Space-Time Ice Floes’ or ‘Lifebound Treasures’ had appeared.

The complete formation of the World Gap takes anywhere from a few decades to several centuries.

Primeval treasures typically number no more than ten! Encountering one every few years is considered quite lucky.

“It’s about eight thousand li from here,” True Martial King said. “Let’s go take a look.”

“Let’s go.”

No one hesitated.

Meng Chuan activated his Seamless Domain, carrying everyone with him at an extremely high speed. During their flight, they even ‘picked up’ twelve ordinary treasures. These treasures had likely descended over the past three years; since no demon kings had entered and the human gods and demons were constantly cultivating, they remained on the ground, waiting to be found.

“Later, we can take a good stroll around the World Gap; we might find quite a few treasures,” True Martial King said with a smile. “Even ordinary treasures are useful. They add up.”

“Blood Spirit Stones are relatively common. Collect more of them, and they can serve as raw materials for Godfiend Blood Pools,” Peng Mu added.

The three major sects, along with several times their number in outer disciples, see hundreds of individuals undertake the Life-and-Death Trial each year.

Godfiend Blood Pools are consumed annually, and over time, the demand becomes naturally astonishing. Even Venerables have to concern themselves with gathering raw materials for these pools.

“Hmm?”

After flying for about a quarter of an hour, the four finally arrived at the source of the fluctuation. At this point, they also summoned their protector, Wang Shan, and the five of them gazed into the distance.

Booming sounds resonated.

Azure gales roared, creating a scene of world-shattering destruction. The earth shattered, and the void twisted.

With their superior vision, Meng Chuan and his companions could barely discern the core of the gale-swept region, the ‘eye of the storm,’ where a faint azure egg lay.

“These winds…” Meng Chuan observed that the roaring gales emitted an azure glow. This glow was almost identical to one of the multicolored forces, the ‘azure light,’ he had seen at the World Fissure. “Is this Primeval Force?”

Meng Chuan knew that the multicolored forces at the World Fissure were all Primeval Forces, the very power that created the world, and their might was terrifying.

The convergence of Primeval Force here pointed to only one possibility.

“A Primeval treasure,” Meng Chuan thought to himself. “And one related to wind.”

“A Wind Primeval treasure is being nurtured here,” True Martial King exclaimed with awe. “Primeval treasures only emerge during the birth of a world; they are incredibly precious. And ‘Wind Primeval treasures’ are even more unique. They typically possess sentience and, once fully formed, will break free from their shells and fly away. Their speed is unbelievably fast, and they cherish freedom, usually flying out of the world where they were born to soar freely in the outer realms.”

“Even Emperor-level beings find it extremely difficult to capture them in the River of Spacetime,” True Martial King stated. “As for us? We must capture it before it fully forms. Once it breaks out of its shell, it will be impossible for us to seize it.”

Meng Chuan and the others nodded in agreement.

“These gales contain the Primeval Force of the World Gap,” True Martial King said. “I’ll give it a try.”

He extended his hand from a distance.

A sphere of misty gray power condensed and spun into the gales.

“This sphere, formed with the power of a Tribulation Realm secret treasure, possesses extremely strong protective capabilities,” True Martial King explained.

Hissing sounds arose.

The gales roared, devastating everything in their path as they swept over the misty gray sphere. Numerous cracks appeared on the sphere’s surface, yet it resiliently resisted and rapidly healed, continuing its flight inward.

However, the gales came in bursts, some strong, some weak. The further in it went, the stronger and denser the winds generally became.

After flying over two hundred li, under the onslaught of even stronger gales, the misty gray sphere directly shattered and completely dissipated.

“It can’t be stopped,” True Martial King said, shaking his head at the sight. “Directly resisting the Primeval Wind is futile.”

After his strength breakthrough and acquiring a Tribulation Realm secret treasure, his power was comparable to that of Meng Tiange and Xu Yingwu.

Only Qin Wu, Bai Yaoyue, and Li Guan were confident in defeating True Martial King within a few moves.

If his protective measures couldn’t withstand the Primeval Wind… then other Marquis Godfiends stood no chance whatsoever.

“Direct resistance is impossible,” Meng Chuan also sensed the power of the gales. The world-destroying winds twisted the void, preventing even him from delving into the deeper layers of space. As for physically resisting them head-on? One would simply be shredded.

“I’ll try,”

Peng Mu said with a slight smile.

He waved his hand from afar, and an azure vine flew out, entering the gales. “This is an Emperor-level secret treasure of mine,” he stated. “Even this Primeval Wind cannot hope to destroy it. It would not be difficult for it to extend a thousand li.”

The azure vine grew longer and longer, but as it extended over thirty li into the gales, the internal winds became even more ferocious, causing the vine to sway violently and preventing it from penetrating any further.

“The wind’s power is too immense, and it repels all external objects, preventing further approach,” Peng Mu said, his face flushed as he rapidly retracted the azure vine.

“I won’t try,” Yun Jianhai stated calmly. “My sword art excels in frontal combat against enemies. Retrieving treasures? I’m not skilled at that.”

“I have no methods either,” the protector, Wang Shan, said, shaking his head.

“Junior Brother Meng, do you have a way?” True Martial King asked, looking at Meng Chuan.

“Let me observe first,” Meng Chuan replied. A bold idea had already formed in his mind, so he meticulously studied the gales, examining them closely through his Lightning Magnetic Domain and Seamless Domain.

At this moment, five figures flew in from the distance. It was the combined team from Two World Island’s Black Sand Grotto-Heaven: Thousand Wood King, Molten Fire King, and others, who descended together.

“It’s a Wind Primeval treasure.”

“The gale’s range is enormous, a full thousand li?”

Thousand Wood King and Molten Fire King watched in astonishment.

“You arrived a step ahead of us,” Molten Fire King said with a laugh. “It seems you haven’t managed to retrieve this Primeval treasure yet.”

“You can give it a try,” True Martial King replied with a faint smile.

The three major sects currently maintained very close ties. Regardless of which sect acquired it, it would ultimately contribute to the strength of humanity.

“I’ll go first,” Tong Ming King said coolly. A black shadow suddenly flew out from his body and penetrated the gale-swept region. The gales, though world-destroying, couldn’t touch the shadow in the slightest. However, as it drew closer, and after venturing over a hundred li into the gales, the black shadow began to twist. The shadow quickly started to retreat, then returned to Tong Ming King’s body.

Tong Ming King’s face was pale, and his eyes were dim.

Molten Fire King and Bei Mu King both secretly frowned upon seeing this. Both of them had thought their companion, Tong Ming King, had a high chance of success, but unexpectedly, even he failed.

“I’ll try as well,” Gu Tong King said. With a wave of his hand, tens of thousands of Gu insects swarmed out. These insects flew extremely fast. Although there were gaps between the individual gusts of wind, the Primeval Wind itself was too swift, making it difficult to slip through the openings.

However, these Gu insects flew nimbly, one by one, slipping through the gaps between the gales.

They continued to penetrate deeper.

Yet, the deeper they went, the denser the winds became. Once swept by the Primeval Wind, the Gu insects would instantly turn to dust.

“It’s no use,” Gu Tong King also realized the situation was dire. After the Gu insects had penetrated over a hundred li, he ordered a full retreat, with just over three thousand insects remaining.

Everyone with a method tried, but all failed.

“These gales are too powerful,” Molten Fire King said, shaking his head. Everyone was helpless.

While Primeval treasures do emerge in the World Gap, sometimes they are right before one’s eyes yet remain incredibly difficult to obtain.

Meng Chuan, meanwhile, observed meticulously, pondering his own options.

“There’s a twenty to thirty percent chance; I can try,” Meng Chuan thought to himself.
