Chapter 380: Canghai Sect

Meng Chuan flew at ultra-high speed along the seabed on his Bloodblade Disk, scanning all directions, searching for demon kings.

Suddenly, the surrounding space shifted.

"Oh no!" Meng Chuan's heart jolted. "Another demon ambush?"

The three major sects wouldn't target him. It was highly probable that the demons would make their next move. However, he was unaware that the demons had used the 'Karma Blood Curse' to identify the mysterious Godfiend and hadn't truly attacked him yet. This time, it was indeed human forces that had led him here.

Swish swish swish!!!

The Bloodblade Disk beneath his feet immediately released numerous bloodblades that encircled him, creating a self-contained defensive system to isolate him from his surroundings.

Meng Chuan cautiously surveyed his surroundings. When the scenery returned to normal, he immediately saw a massive underwater mountain range. The area was remarkably calm, with no attacks occurring, which left him puzzled.

"Hmm?" Meng Chuan's gaze swept across, and he spotted an ancient mountain gate in the distance. Its pillars were covered in greenish-grey stone, and although the gatehouse was ancient, two characters were still faintly discernible: 'Canghai!'

"Canghai?"

A tumultuous wave surged in Meng Chuan's heart. "Could this be the ruins of the Canghai Sect?"

Even ordinary Godfiends knew of 'Demon Monarch Canghai,' a peerless expert born in human history. Demon Monarch Canghai had created the 'Canghai Demon Body,' one of the twelve transcendent Godfiend bodies.

Given Meng Chuan's status, he knew even more.

Humanity once had an invincible sect called the 'Cangyuan Sect,' founded by Patriarch Cangyuan.

While Patriarch Cangyuan was alive, the Cangyuan Sect was the pride of all humanity.

All humans took pride in joining the Cangyuan Sect, and the sect itself was incredibly unified.

Later, after Patriarch Cangyuan passed away and countless years had passed...

The Cangyuan Sect split.

It split into the 'Canghai Sect' and 'Yuanchu Mountain.' According to Meng Chuan's understanding, Yuanchu Mountain was led by 'Patriarch Yuanchu,' while the Canghai Sect was led by Demon Monarch Canghai. The two shared a profound friendship and and were the most brilliant experts of their era, both renowned in human history. Demon Monarch Canghai was a prodigy who reached the Heaven and Earth realm but couldn't truly become an Emperor due to his Primeval Spirit, though he did create Emperor-level ultimate techniques. Patriarch Yuanchu also created Emperor-level ultimate techniques and the 'Yuanchu Divine Body,' and he became an Emperor, surpassing Demon Monarch Canghai.

Thus, between the two major sects, Yuanchu Mountain held the advantage, receiving most of the Cangyuan Sect's power, while the Canghai Sect received a smaller portion.

"The Canghai Sect has been gone for hundreds of thousands of years," Meng Chuan murmured, looking at the ancient gate. The two characters 'Canghai' on it, along with the vast and powerful array forces surrounding it, made him wonder, "The remaining array is still this formidable? It effortlessly transported me here?"

"That's right," Meng Chuan realized. "Looking at human history, the complete Cangyuan Sect was the strongest sect. Yuanchu Mountain is arguably the second strongest in history. The Canghai Sect itself was powerful enough to rank third."

Even Black Sand Grotto-Heaven, despite acquiring two complete foreign inheritances, still couldn't match Yuanchu Mountain's deep heritage.

Whoosh.

A black mist condensed at the mountain gate, forming a long-browed old man in a black robe.

"Hmm?" Meng Chuan observed the long-browed old man. With his Seamless Domain, he sensed that the old man was not a real living being.

"Seeing you flying on the Tribulation Realm secret treasure 'Bloodblade Disk,' are you a disciple of Yuanchu Mountain?" the black-robed, long-browed old man asked.

Meng Chuan was startled. "It recognizes the Bloodblade Disk?"

Tribulation Realm secret treasures usually don't have any obvious external features, making them difficult to identify.

"Don't be surprised," the black-robed, long-browed old man said. "This is one of the Tribulation Realm secret treasures left by Patriarch Cangyuan; of course, I recognize it. After all, I was once a Guardian God of the Cangyuan Sect."

"A Guardian God of the Cangyuan Sect?" Meng Chuan looked at him.

"When the Cangyuan Sect split into two, I became a Guardian God of the Canghai Sect," the black-robed, long-browed old man said with a smile, looking at Meng Chuan. "Your Yuanchu Mountain also has Guardian Gods. And there are two of them. Now, come with me."

Meng Chuan temporarily retracted the individual bloodblades, but his Bloodblade Disk remained ready for activation. He cautiously followed the Guardian God through the mountain gate and entered a vast grotto-heaven.

Within the grotto-heaven, three structures stood upon the ground.

"I've brought you into the Canghai Sect's most core grotto-heaven," the black-robed, long-browed old man said, pointing to the three structures before them. "When the Canghai Sect was weaker and split from Yuanchu Mountain, through negotiation, it only managed to obtain these three structures. Most of Patriarch Cangyuan's other treasures ended up in Yuanchu Mountain's hands."

"Oh?" Meng Chuan observed carefully.

Of the three structures, the leftmost one appeared to be an ordinary pavilion, the middle one was a palace, and the rightmost one was a tower.

"Patriarch Canghai and Patriarch Yuanchu primarily negotiated for these three structures. Of course, there were some other inclusions, like me, this Guardian God... I was a bonus," the black-robed, long-browed old man chuckled self-deprecatingly. "Patriarch Yuanchu had a good temper; despite having a clear advantage, he didn't push things to extremes."

"The leftmost structure, once you become a King Godfiend, you are permitted to enter," the black-robed, long-browed old man indicated. "Among these three structures, it's also the one you can enter directly without any trials."

"Hall of Stars?" Meng Chuan looked at the leftmost pavilion, which had a plaque bearing the three characters 'Hall of Stars.'

"Yes."

The black-robed, long-browed old man nodded. "These are numerous precious texts accumulated by Patriarch Cangyuan during his long travels through the River of Spacetime. Almost all of them are Tribulation Realm level texts and Emperor-level ultimate techniques. Only a very few Venerable-level ultimate techniques are included. From the many texts Patriarch Cangyuan encountered in his lifetime, he filtered and selected these ninety-eight books, deeming them suitable for future generations of disciples. Each one is extremely valuable."

"Tribulation Realm, Emperor, and Venerable-level ultimate techniques, all selected by Patriarch Cangyuan?" Meng Chuan's heart stirred. "No wonder Yuanchu Mountain has so few Tribulation Realm and Emperor-level ultimate techniques. Why did Patriarch Yuanchu give up this Hall of Stars when he had the advantage?"

"Those who can become King Godfiends should have found their own path. Browsing such ultimate technique texts won't make them lose themselves," the black-robed, long-browed old man said with a smile. "Of course, if they do lose themselves, it means their resolve isn't strong enough, and their future is limited. It's no great loss if they fail."

Meng Chuan, however, was very tempted.

He had already read many texts of the Lightning lineage in Yuanchu Mountain. Although the texts here were few, only ninety-eight, each one was extraordinary. He feared they were almost all superior to the 'Heart Intent Blade.'

Hadn't he heard that they were almost all 'Tribulation Realm and Emperor-level' ultimate techniques?

The very few Venerable-level ultimate techniques, also selected by Patriarch Cangyuan, could probably compare to the Heart Intent Blade.

"By studying these numerous ultimate techniques and absorbing the wisdom of predecessors, I can progress faster and more steadily on my Lightning lineage path," Meng Chuan thought. Although deeply tempted, he still asked, "What do I need to offer in exchange for being brought here and allowed to browse the texts in the Hall of Stars?"

"To gain something, you naturally have to give something in return," the Guardian God replied with a smile.

The Guardian God smiled. "The cost to enter the Hall of Stars isn't great. You can choose to transfer to the Canghai Sect; as a disciple, you would naturally have access to the Hall of Stars and various other benefits. If you're unwilling to become a Canghai Sect disciple, you must make a 'Heart Vow' to find three human youth geniuses for the Canghai Sect within one hundred years, all of whom must have comprehended the 'Realm of Force' before the age of sixteen."

"Comprehend the Realm of Force before sixteen?" Meng Chuan looked around and couldn't help but ask, "The Canghai Sect should have large grotto-heavens where humans can procreate, right? Why must I be the one to find disciples?"

"Grotto-heavens?"

The Guardian God shook his head. "Grotto-heavens are far inferior to even 'low-level worlds.' While they're suitable for survival and procreation, they're not at all suitable for cultivation. Moreover, even a large grotto-heaven can only sustain a few million people. Humans within grotto-heavens... their comprehension will be significantly lower, and cultivation will be much harder. It's difficult to produce even an ordinary Godfiend in several centuries. So, to find disciples, one must still go to the outside world."

Meng Chuan nodded slightly.

Finding a peerless prodigy like Xue Feng, who became a Godfiend at fifteen, was extremely difficult.

However, finding someone who comprehended the Realm of Force by sixteen, with a hundred-year deadline, wasn't considered difficult.

"What about the other two structures? If I want to enter them, what price do I have to pay?" Meng Chuan didn't rush to agree.
