Chapter 249: Sent to My Place

"For the past decade or so, we've been able to stay by their side. Once they go to Yuanchu Mountain, our time together will be much shorter," Liu Qiyue said softly, a hint of reluctance in her voice.

"Children grow up and eventually have to forge their own paths," Meng Chuan replied. "Even after reaching the Transcendent Realm and learning we are Marquis Godfiends, they remained excited but still kept our identities secret within the academy, never using their background to bully others. Their temperaments are truly admirable; both our children are exceptionally talented."

"Yes," Liu Qiyue nodded.

As their children grew, both husband and wife realized that their time together was becoming increasingly scarce.

"I'm going to practice archery," Liu Qiyue said, standing up.

"Let's go together. I also need to practice my saber techniques," Meng Chuan replied.

The couple left the residence, which was usually tended by only two servants.

Back at the Meng estate, they practiced by the Star-Moon Lake.

Saber techniques, no matter how much one contemplates them, cannot compare to actual practice! Meng Chuan repeatedly practiced his saber. He knew his saber talent was exceptional, but it was still slightly inferior to that of Xue Feng or Yan Chitong. Therefore, he dedicated himself even more diligently, never daring to relax his efforts.

That evening, at Qingyu Daoist Academy.

Meng You and Meng An, the brother and sister, walked out of the academy gates with the other disciples. At that moment, a colorful small bird flew overhead, surveying the scene below. It was the second Sky Demon King (Triple-Heaven) avian Meng Chuan and his wife had acquired from Yuanchu Mountain. It constantly followed the siblings in secret, responsible for their protection. Its strength was also greater than the other grey bird the couple had acquired.

The grey bird, transformed into human form, served as Liu Qiyue's personal maid under the name 'Aunt Hui,' and she primarily handled message delivery.

The colorful bird, also in human form, operated as 'Uncle Hua' and occasionally interacted with Qingyu Daoist Academy in the capacity of a family elder.

"Junior Sister Meng, Junior Brother Meng, there's a gathering at Rocky Garden tonight. Are you going?" a young man in blue robes asked at the academy entrance.

"We have to go home; our parents are strict," Meng An chuckled. The siblings used the names 'Meng You' and 'Meng An' for their studies and training at the academy, as instructed by their parents. The Sky Demon Gate was so pervasive that Meng Chuan and his wife had exhausted every means to protect their children.

"You two are still too young to understand," the blue-robed youth said, his sword at his waist, as he stepped directly into a luxurious carriage waiting nearby.

The carriage had a driver, and six guards followed alongside, protecting it as it departed.

"Junior Sister Meng, let's spar again tomorrow," a girl in red robes said with a smile, also boarding a carriage with a driver and guards.

At the academy entrance, many descendants of ancient Godfiend families were escorted by retinues.

Jiangzhou City was highly favored by many prominent families because it was guarded by two Marquis Godfiends, Liu Qiyue and Meng Chuan. One could unleash King-level combat power through Phoenix Nirvana, while the other possessed unmatched speed. Therefore, many families arranged for a branch of their clan to relocate to Jiangzhou City. Consequently, Qingyu Daoist Academy had a large number of students from Godfiend families.

"Let's head back," Meng You and Meng An said, unfazed by the display.

Those Godfiend family descendants were merely junior members of their clans. The children of powerful Godfiends like Meng You and Meng An, however, held much more distinguished identities. They even had to go to great lengths to keep their true identities secret, as revealing them could attract assassinations from the Sky Demon Gate!

Upon leaving the academy, there was still a bustling crowd of disciples, but as they walked closer to home, the number of accompanying students dwindled.

"Junior Sister Meng, Junior Brother Meng, see you tomorrow," a young girl on the bluestone street said with a smile, heading towards her own residence.

"Junior Sister Ning, see you tomorrow," Meng You and Meng An replied, smiling.

"What are you doing?!" a girl's startled cry suddenly rang out.

"Huh?"

Meng You and Meng An exchanged a look and walked towards the source of the sound. Jiangzhou City, guarded by their parents, was generally considered very safe.

"Stop it, stop!" Junior Sister Ning cried out anxiously, as many people were moving items out of her family's residence.

"Get lost!"

A burly man in black roared and waved his hand. The girl tried to dodge and defend, but she was still sent flying. Meng You and Meng An immediately stepped forward and helped Junior Sister Ning.

"Junior Sister Ning, is this your home?" Meng You asked, puzzled.

"I don't know who these people are, but they just came to my house and started moving things," Junior Sister Ning said anxiously.

The burly man in black frowned, glancing at Junior Sister Ning. "You're Ning Donggu's daughter?"

"Grab her," the burly man ordered. "Catch the daughter, and we can force the old man to pay his debt."

"Stop! Stop!"

A voice came from inside the residence, and a middle-aged man with a bruised and swollen face rushed out, roaring, "You've taken my home, taken my shop, and capturing me isn't enough? Now you want to seize my daughter too?!"

"Ning Donggu," the burly man in black sneered. "The silver you owe my young master, with interest compounded, has reached thirty thousand taels. Your house and shop combined might not even be enough. And by the time your house and shop are sold to cover the debt, you'll probably owe more than thirty thousand taels. So, we have to seize your whole family to make you dutifully gather the money."

"You tricked me into partnering with you, manipulated me, and forced me to put my handprint on agreements!" the middle-aged man's face contorted in rage. "You deliberately delayed, and when I tried to repay the silver, I couldn't find any of you. Now you reappear, and three thousand taels has turned into thirty thousand with compounded interest? And you want to keep compounding it? When will it end?!"

"That's something you'll have to discuss with my young master," the burly man in black chuckled. "Take Ning Donggu, his wife, and their daughter away."

Ning Donggu and his wife were both seized, and the woman, in despair, cried, "I knew we shouldn't have done business with Young Master Wang! You wouldn't listen, and now everything is ruined!"

Two strong men, with cold smiles, advanced directly towards Junior Sister Ning, intending to subdue her in one swift move.

*Thump! Thump!*

Meng An stepped forward immediately, delivering two kicks that sent the two Marrow Cleansing Realm strongmen flying.

Meng An, being in the Transcendent Realm with a profound Godfiend foundation, was strong enough to contend with those in the Seamless Realm. Naturally, he easily dealt with the two thugs.

"I've heard that some people in Jiangzhou City deliberately employ schemes to force families into bankruptcy, specifically to seize their properties," Meng An said, looking at the group before him with a sneer. "Are your actions meant to usurp the Ning family's house and shop?"

The burly man in black frowned slightly as he looked at the young siblings. "Kid, not everything is your business to meddle with."

"Today, this matter *is* my business," Meng An declared, pulling a long spear from the scabbard on his back. With a spin, the spear extended to nine feet long. Holding it, he gazed at the group before him.

"Junior Brother Meng," Junior Sister Ning stammered, a little flustered.

"Quite daring, aren't you?" a thin man sneered, stepping forward and drawing his saber instantly.

*Clang! Clang! Clang!*

Meng You, however, suddenly drew her sword. With a flash of sword light, she delivered several rapid strikes. The thin man let out a pained scream and retreated violently. A bloody hole had been pierced through his arm. He stared at Meng You in shock and anger, muttering, "This little girl is formidable."

"Who are you two, daring to interfere?" the burly man in black asked, frowning.

"Boss, these siblings live in a residence about half a *li* away," one of his subordinates whispered. "Their names are Meng You and Meng An. I've seen their father; he's not famous, but I estimate he's at the Seamless Realm level of strength."

"Meng You, Meng An?" The burly man in black nodded slightly. His subordinates had a good understanding of almost every household in the vicinity, capable of identifying which ones were easy targets and which were not to be provoked.

Suddenly, a luxurious carriage with guards arrived. The curtain on the carriage was slightly lifted, and a pale-faced young man looked out, asking, "Guard Yu, is the matter resolved?"

"A pair of siblings suddenly appeared," the burly man in black said in a low voice.

"Siblings?"

The pale-faced young man looked over, his eyes lighting up when he saw Meng You. As the daughter of Meng Chuan and his wife, Meng You had inherited extraordinary beauty. Having been cultivated since childhood, she possessed a robust Godfiend foundation and remarkably soulful eyes.

"What a beautiful little beauty," the pale-faced young man ordered. "Be careful not to harm her. Bring this little beauty to my place. Let's go!" With that, he dropped the carriage curtain.
