"A'Chuan," Liu Qiyue called again.

"Hmm?" Meng Chuan finally came back to his senses, though his mind couldn't help but wander back to the past.

"There must be a problem here," Liu Qiyue said. "Father-in-law is the head of the Underworld Net in Dongning Prefecture. Yuanchu Mountain must have thoroughly vetted him and trusted him greatly. How could they now believe he's colluding with the Sky Demon Sect?"

Meng Chuan nodded.

"We both know Father-in-law's character very well; he's absolutely not the type to collude with demons," Liu Qiyue stated. "If he were that kind of person, he wouldn't have raised you, A'Chuan."

"Where's Father-in-law?" Meng Chuan asked. "Father-in-law and my father are sworn brothers. He must know more."

"Yes, I'll go call my father," Liu Qiyue nodded.

Though it was deep in the night, Liu Yebai was still woken up.

By candlelight, Liu Yebai also finished reading the five letters. He shook his head solemnly and said, "Impossible! Dajiang would never collude with the Sky Demon Sect. I'd bet my life on it."

Meng Chuan's eyes lit up at this.

"I know Dajiang's whereabouts very well," Liu Yebai stated gravely. "He and I both served as assassins for the Demon-Slaying Society. We carried out Demon-Slaying Society missions, hunting down members of the Sky Demon Sect. Normally, he ran a restaurant in Dongning Prefecture and taught you two youngsters. He hates evil like fire and detests the demon race to the bone... We've fought side-by-side in life-or-death battles many times. I absolutely couldn't be wrong about him."

"Most importantly, it's impossible for him to have colluded with the Sky Demon Sect for a long time without me finding out," Liu Yebai continued.
