Chapter 482: A Letter to Book Friends for the New Year

First, I'd like to extend New Year's greetings to everyone. Wishing you all a Happy Spring Festival, smooth sailing in all your endeavors, good health for your entire family, and grand achievements in the Year of the Rabbit!

The rabbit's most remarkable ability is reproduction, cough, cough. So, to my friends of appropriate age, I wish you early blessings of parenthood! For those not yet of age, just wait a bit, no rush.

I discussed the situation of this book last time, so I won't dwell on it today.

However, this special event chapter requires 500 words, and I've already said everything I wanted to say at the beginning of the month on New Year's Day. I should have saved some for later!

So, today, let's talk about something else.

First, regarding Xu Qing's light: I remember mentioning when I wrote that part that I'd tell you a short story when the opportunity arose.

This story took place two years ago. I was at a small bar, drinking with some friends, and a female classmate I had just met gave us a psychological test.

I won't detail the test process. Ultimately, my perception was of a ladder appearing before me, which I then climbed to the very end of the sky.

There, the sky was pitch black. An eagle flew towards me, and I stood on its back, traveling to the edge of nothingness. There, I saw a castle.

The castle was medieval in style, dilapidated, with gardens around it that had all withered. I entered the castle and saw a door in its deepest part.

I went over and pushed the door open.

The test ended there. The female classmate told us that this world represented our inner self, and what we saw of ourselves inside the door represented our true self.

She asked us all what our true selves inside the door were doing.

Some friends said the sky was blue, the gardens were filled with colorful flowers, and it was a beautiful scene, with their true selves inside the door smiling.

Some friends said they saw themselves crying inside the door.

Some friends said there was nothing inside the door, just emptiness and darkness.

As for me, I didn't see my own figure inside the door.

What I saw was a beam of light!

A light that shot out from the door, filling the world before my eyes, dispelling all darkness, and making the entire world clear and bright.

It permeated every part of my world, like an ocean.

Then I woke up, and the memory remains vivid to this day.

Afterward, the female classmate told me I must have experienced something that caused my inner self to be withered, dark, and decayed.

She wasn't surprised that there was no true self inside the door I pushed open, but she was very surprised that what I saw was light.

She told me that my true self had transformed into light, healing my world, merging with everything, and illuminating it all.

Finally, she told me:

"You yourself healed yourself."

Consequently, I felt a deep sense of emotion at the time and reflected on my past, realizing I should move on and embrace a new beginning.

Therefore, I later found a girlfriend and genuinely wanted to make the relationship work, but due to various unforeseen circumstances, we broke up.

After much consideration, I found another partner, but unfortunately, we also broke up because my writing schedule left me with no time for companionship.

Now, I'm still single. I think it's best to just focus on my writing and not let things that distract me from my work bother me. Being alone is quite good: I can eat what I want, come home whenever I want, and live freely and without worry.

I wish you all happiness!

Actually, as I was writing this, I realized there's still so much more I want to share with you, but then I remembered the 500-word requirement, and I've already passed 1000!

I'll save the rest for next time.
