Chapter 862: Cold Wind and Fierce Formation

The Mortal Realm

In the distance, Qin Sang and the others hovered over the sea, their expressions solemn as they gazed towards the small island. They had seen the shadow of the Kui Dragon and felt the oppressive aura of the powerful demon, which put them on high alert.

Waves splashed on the sea surface as a black light shot forth, landing in Chu Heng's palm. Everyone's heart tensed, and they all looked over.

Chu Heng nodded gently and said, "This demon is indeed the Kui Dragon. Let's move!"

Before he had even finished speaking, everyone, holding crystal steles, activated their movement techniques and approached the small island.

While they were flying, the young man named Fang had already engaged the Kui Dragon in battle.

The wind howled and the rain poured!

In mid-air, a golden light was entangled with the Kui Dragon. As the Kui Dragon breathed, silver light shimmered, and it even manipulated the lightning descending from the sky, directing it towards the golden light.

The man and the demon fought fiercely, and for a time, it was impossible to tell who was stronger.

Qin Sang and the others held their breath, quietly landed on the island, and selected a clear open space.

Not far above them, the young man named Fang and the Kui Dragon were fighting intensely. He wielded a golden lasso, whipping the Kui Dragon to attract its attention.

The young man named Fang was very powerful.

The golden lasso struck the Kui Dragon's body, and although it couldn't immediately break through the defense of its scales, it caused the creature immense pain.

The Kui Dragon's ferocity was provoked. It spewed thunder, repeatedly batting away the golden lasso. Its body was enormous, yet it was extremely agile, twisting and turning in the air. Its long tail also crackled with electricity, like a giant silver sword, forcing the young man named Fang to retreat repeatedly.

"So powerful!"

Everyone looked up, shocked by the Kui Dragon's strength.

This powerful demon's bloodline power was certainly extremely strong; its might was incomparable to ordinary demonic beasts. Without the Heavenly Cold Fierce Wind Array, they likely wouldn't be able to subdue the Kui Dragon.

"Quickly, set up the array!" Chu Heng urged.

At this moment, the young man named Fang was retreating in their direction. He wasn't entirely unable to block the Kui Dragon but was doing it intentionally to lure it over.

Everyone quickly moved into action, setting up the grand array before the Kui Dragon arrived.

*Swish, swish, swish...*

The crystal steles landed and instantly sank into the ground, disappearing from sight.

Everyone stood hundreds of feet apart, forming a huge open space in the middle. After the crystal steles sank into the ground, a cold energy permeated the earth. The roots of the vegetation in the open space turned emerald blue, but nothing was visible from the surface.

The cold energy accumulated deep underground, lying dormant.

Qin Sang and the others quickly concealed themselves, waiting for the opportune moment.

"They're coming!"

Qin Sang stared at the two rapidly approaching figures and saw the true form of the Kui Dragon. This demonic beast was different from the legendary divine beast Kui Dragon; it resembled a flood dragon with a single leg.

Its scales, however, resembled fish scales, and its head was similar to a turtle's.

This demon's bloodline was mixed, and these combined elements made it appear quite strange. However, its ability to control thunder and lightning was extraordinary, a direct result of its Kui Dragon bloodline.

The Kui Dragon roared repeatedly, and bolts of lightning chased the young man named Fang, striking at him, as if the thunder and lightning in the sky were completely under its control. The thunderballs spit from the Kui Dragon's mouth were even more astonishingly powerful; one struck a mountain peak, instantly leveling its summit.

The two figures pursued each other until they finally arrived above the grand array.

As the young man named Fang flew over the spot, his speed suddenly exploded, and his figure accelerated and rose higher. The Kui Dragon saw this and gave chase, completely unaware it was falling into a trap, and plunged headfirst into it.

*Boom!*

The ground exploded, and debris of grass and trees flew wildly everywhere in the wind and rain.

Immediately after, *bang, bang, bang* sounds echoed continuously as five crystal steles shot up from the ground, emitting a strong blue light. A surge of cold energy erupted from underground, spreading out violently, and a cage made of cold energy instantly formed in mid-air.

The cage was square, perfectly trapping the Kui Dragon within.

Inside, fierce cold winds, like countless chains, whipped at the Kui Dragon.

The crystal steles stood firmly on the ground, continuously releasing cold energy into the cage. Qin Sang and the others had already appeared, each person sitting cross-legged on top of a crystal stele, fully activating the array formation.

Seeing this, the young man named Fang's escape light abruptly stopped. He turned and flew back, a look of pleasant surprise on his face as he stared at the Kui Dragon trapped in the cold energy cage. He burst out laughing.

The Kui Dragon's intelligence was not low. Seeing this situation, it immediately understood its predicament and let out a shrill shriek.

The scream was extremely piercing, making Qin Sang and the others frown. The dark clouds in the sky seemed to be scattered, tumbling erratically.

The Kui Dragon in the cage was almost frantic.

Its body seemed to be covered in lightning armor; every scale shimmered with silver light, emitting tiny bolts of lightning. The cold winds were impacted by the power of the lightning, becoming fragmented and scattered, completely unable to contain the Kui Dragon.

For a time, chaos reigned inside the cage.

Cold energy collided with lightning, and the chaotic struggle continued. From within came the Kui Dragon's roars, followed by deafening thunder.

*Boom!*

A thunderball violently struck the cage.

The cage vibrated violently, causing Qin Sang and the others' faces to pale slightly in secret shock. They dared not delay, fully pouring their true essence into the crystal steles to strengthen the cage.

But before the cage could stabilize, the Kui Dragon's tail lashed out again with power even stronger than the thunderballs it spewed, nearly tearing a hole in the cage.

The cage had just formed and was at its most vulnerable. Under the Kui Dragon's frantic attacks, it became even more dispersed. They could barely maintain the cage, let alone perform other transformations of the spiritual array.

Noticing the anomaly in the cage and seeing a glimmer of hope for escape, the Kui Dragon became even more frantic.

Its screams had an inexplicable rhythm, which could actually draw forth the power of thunder and lightning from the sky. Dark clouds rolled as the power of thunder and lightning was drawn from all directions, slowly gathering above their heads.

Seeing this, the young man named Fang's expression became anxious, and he urgently shouted, "Quickly, increase your true essence! Absolutely do not let that beast escape!"

While shouting, he hastily activated the golden lasso in his hand, sending it flying into the air. The golden lasso shot up, piercing violently towards the sky, scattering the lightning.

Everyone knew this was the most critical moment and could not afford to consider anything else; they could only pour their true essence into the array with all their might.

The crystal steles shone with dazzling light.

Cold energy burst forth, and the surrounding temperature plummeted. The area outside the array was also affected; trees were covered in a layer of frost and froze to death.

Qin Sang, however, secretly frowned at this moment. He felt that his true essence was being consumed a bit too quickly; the Kui Dragon's strength had exceeded their estimations. Trapping the Kui Dragon wasn't the end; they still had to hold on until the young man named Fang killed it.

If his true essence truly became exhausted, any small accident could cost him his life. Looking at the others, their expressions were also solemn, but forced by the situation, they had no choice but to continue.

Qin Sang thought for a moment and quietly unsealed his Corpse Core, switching to consuming the true essence within it. He naturally wouldn't let himself fall into such a predicament; he would immediately withdraw if he found the situation unsalvageable.

The island was a mess.

On the battlefield, a pillar of cold energy, hundreds of feet in diameter, shot up into the sky, rapidly spinning like a tornado. In the center of the cage, a slender figure was clearly visible, incredibly fierce, its body enveloped in lightning, continuously smashing against the cold energy cage.

Under the violent shaking, the terrifying commotion made everyone's hearts pound, a testament to the battle's intensity.
