Chapter 820: Great Battle of Soul and Body

Qin Sang's Nascent Soul was unafraid, yet he didn't want to be touched by the sharp cone, unsure if it had any peculiar side effects. This was his first encounter with such a powerful soul entity, so he proceeded with extreme caution.

A strong gust of wind assailed him.

Qin Sang's figure swiftly retreated, dodging repeatedly. He finally released the Nine Nether Demonic Flame, which coalesced into a ball. It collided with the sharp cone, and both dissipated.

As the demonic flame scattered, the Ten Directions Yama Banner fluttered, conjuring another wisp of demonic flame. Qin Sang swiftly moved into the banner formation, then, with a sweep of his arm, the demonic flame in front of him transformed into a black spear.

The woman happened to catch up.

Pointed at by the fiery spear and sensing the aura of the Nine Nether Demonic Flame, the woman's figure abruptly halted. She fixated on the black demonic flame, a hint of fear surfacing on her face.

The Nine Nether Demonic Flame naturally held a certain suppressive effect on souls. As a pure soul entity, the woman instinctively recoiled in fear.

Delighted to see the Nine Nether Demonic Flame proving effective, Qin Sang forcefully pointed his finger. The fiery spear began to spin rapidly, then instantly launched forward from its stationary position.

As expected, the woman dared not be struck by the fiery spear. She abandoned her pursuit of Qin Sang, her figure instantly shifting several yards sideways, swiftly dodging to bypass the spear.

Having gained the upper hand, Qin Sang pressed his advantage relentlessly.

The Nine Nether Demonic Flame gathered and dispersed unpredictably, at times transforming into various weapons like sabers, spears, swords, and halberds, relentlessly pressuring the woman. However, her speed was too great, and she was exceptionally agile, preventing Qin Sang from landing a decisive blow.

The woman attempted to ambush Qin Sang several times but was always repelled by the demonic flame. Qin Sang's speed was also comparable to hers. After repeated failures, she became furiously enraged, letting out roars, her eyes bloodshot and terrifyingly bloodthirsty. At this moment, she no longer had any semblance of fragility; she was a vengeful spirit incarnate.

However, while the situation appeared to favor Qin Sang, he hadn't actually managed to harm the woman.

Qin Sang looked up at the Nascent Soul battle raging in the distance. The conflict there was even more intense and astonishing, causing him to frown slightly, uncertain how much time he had left.

As he pondered, Qin Sang spotted another opportunity and immediately shouted, "Explode!"

The demonic flame suddenly erupted.

The woman reacted a half-beat too slowly. Her soul entity, unable to dodge in time, was scorched by the demonic flame and let out a painful groan. Simultaneously, her soul was violently impacted, sending her tumbling backward.

Unexpectedly, the direction in which the woman was sent flying was precisely where Qin Sang stood.

Qin Sang instantly grew wary. The woman, showing no signs of distress, had used the demonic flame's impact to dramatically increase her speed, rapidly closing in on him with a sinister grin on her face.

"Ah!"

The woman shrieked at Qin Sang, her mouth wide open.

This time, no sharp cone materialized, but her scream generated tangible sound waves that surged towards Qin Sang, overwhelming him. This piercing shriek was no ordinary sound; it was a terrifying attack in itself. If a cultivator lacked defensive measures and was struck by it, they might experience a minor shock to their Nascent Soul and body stiffness, or in severe cases, their soul could shatter instantly, causing them to bleed from all seven orifices and die.

The woman had been planning this for a long time, constantly seeking an opportunity, and her gambit finally paid off.

Qin Sang, caught entirely off guard and unable to dodge, was directly hit by the shriek. As expected, he froze in place, lost in confusion.

"Hehehe..."

The woman let out a piercing, cackling laugh, transforming into a horrifying fiend. Her crimson tongue licked her fangs, and the nails on her hands grew monstrously long. Driven by a bloodthirsty urge, she lunged impatiently towards Qin Sang's chest.

But as she lunged at Qin Sang, she realized something was amiss: his eyes were clear, devoid of any confusion, and he was staring at her with a cold, piercing gaze.

A flash of sword light appeared, then instantly split, erupting into several brilliant beams.

Simultaneously, Qin Sang flicked his wrist, and the Two-Headed Hou leaped out from the Primordial Concentric Ring. Already prepared, its vertical pupils unleashed a storm.

The woman could never have imagined that Qin Sang was entirely unaffected by such soul-attacking shrieks; he had merely been feigning, boldly luring her closer to deliver a fatal blow.

In an instant, he fully unleashed his mastery of swordsmanship.

The sword lights intertwined, as swift as lightning. Within the storm, wind blades, sharp as knives, seemed capable of shredding anything, their power equally formidable.

In the blink of an eye, several beams of sword light pierced through the woman's body.

The next moment, the woman's pained shriek rang out. Struck by the Ebony Sword, cracks appeared on her soul entity. Immediately, the storm engulfed her, countless wind blades slicing at her seemingly fragile form.

The scream abruptly ceased.

Once the Ebony Sword returned and the storm dissipated, the woman had completely vanished, as if slain.

Yet Qin Sang showed no sign of relief. He swept his gaze around, then suddenly recalled the Nine Nether Demonic Flame, shrouding himself in it. Moments later, he saw the woman's figure reforming in the distance.

She was whole, her limbs intact, and even the cracks caused by the Ebony Sword had disappeared; there wasn't a single injury on her body.

The woman's expression grew even more horrifying. She hadn't expected someone who seemed so weak to be unaffected by her attacks and even able to wound her. She hated Qin Sang intensely, wishing she could devour his flesh and blood.

"An indestructible body?" Qin Sang frowned.

He knew soul entities differed from cultivators, with certain attacks proving ineffective against them. However, any other soul entity he'd encountered before would have been severely wounded, if not destroyed, by an attack of this caliber, certainly not completely unharmed. High-level soul refinement was too bizarre.

"Huh? No, her soul entity seems to be slightly more transparent than before..."

Qin Sang gazed at the woman, noticing the subtle difference. He mused that this was only natural; otherwise, possessing such formidable strength combined with an indestructible body would be too terrifying.

Even so, the woman proved to be a formidable opponent for Qin Sang.

The Ebony Sword and other methods could only weaken her soul entity. While the Nine Nether Demonic Flame could harm her, the woman was extremely wary of it and wouldn't easily be struck.

The distant Nascent Soul battle appeared fierce, but a decisive outcome there would be instantaneous. Time was on the woman's side; he couldn't afford to keep fighting her indefinitely.

Considering this, Qin Sang gave the woman a deep glance, then turned and retreated once more.

The woman hated Qin Sang to the bone and, unwilling to let him escape, pursued him without hesitation.

"Her speed has slowed down..."

As he retreated, Qin Sang also sensed behind him, making a discovery. It appeared his previous attack wasn't ineffective; it had damaged the woman, even if it wasn't externally visible.

He stopped fleeing, turned, and urged the demonic flame to attack the woman. Simultaneously, the Two-Headed Hou assisted, unleashing a torrential barrage of attacks in an instant.

The woman feared the demonic flame, but while dodging it, she inevitably left herself open to other attacks. Coupled with her recent injury, it wasn't long before Qin Sang seized another opportunity.

This time, he couldn't shred her body, but the Ebony Sword successfully severed a significant portion of her soul entity.

Right before Qin Sang, the woman fused the two pieces of her soul entity, restoring herself completely, her expression seemingly mocking him.

Faced with the woman's provocation, Qin Sang's expression remained stern. Without a word, he immediately activated his magic treasure to attack again, as if engaged in a series of futile efforts.
