Chapter 674: Tenwu Island

Qin Sang activated the power of the teleportation talisman as instructed. A light shield enveloped his body, and then the ancient teleportation array glowed brightly, initiating the familiar teleportation process.

His two previous experiences using ancient teleportation arrays at Shangyuan Pure Temple had both been disorienting, feeling like the world was spinning upside down. The one at Ziwei Palace was even more tragic, costing him an arm.

This time, the teleportation was much smoother than the previous three, without much discomfort. His feet landed firmly on solid ground, indicating a very successful teleportation.

Qin Sang, Elder Zou, and the others appeared in a spacious hall. As the light from the teleportation array faded, they saw Witchcraft Clan guards standing ahead, all exuding a fierce aura.

While Qin Sang surveyed his surroundings, Elder Zou led the way out of the hall.

Qin Sang quickly followed. Upon exiting the hall, their view immediately opened up.

The teleportation array was built on a mountain on Tianwu Island. A large city lay at the foot of the mountain, offering an unobstructed panoramic view from the hall entrance.

Tianwu Island truly lived up to its name; it was vast. The city occupied only a small portion of it. Beyond the city, mountains encircled them, undulating until they finally met the boundless, azure sea.

While in the Western Border of the Witch God Continent, Qin Sang had inquired about the Stormy Demon Sea and learned various rumors.

Some said the water in the Stormy Demon Sea was blood-red with a pungent, fishy smell. Others claimed that demon beasts patrolled the skies and seas constantly, and anyone entering the Stormy Demon Sea would immediately be besieged by them.

The rumors were numerous and varied, almost depicting the Stormy Demon Sea as a hellish realm.

From their current vantage point, the sea outside the island looked no different from the Canglang Sea. Qin Sang stared intently for a while but saw no sign of demon beasts. However, he occasionally noticed the light trails of cultivators flying through the air.

Elder Zou turned to the group and said, "I need to visit a few friends first and gather some information. Ran Luo, please take our fellow Daoists for a stroll around the city. There are many good things to be found here. The Demon Sea has many undeveloped islands, and they often yield rare treasures that are scarce in the Canglang Sea. Most of these treasures converge on Great Barren Island and Tianwu Island, so you might find something useful..."

Qin Sang's heart stirred. If he could buy Myriad-World Camphor here, he wouldn't need to painstakingly search for it. He had enough spirit stones, and if absolutely necessary, he wouldn't mind selling some Golden Orchid Grass.

Ran Luo replied, "Yes."

Elder Zou, accompanied by the Witchcraft Clan female cultivator, was about to leave when he paused as if remembering something. He pointed to the mountains on either side and said, "These two areas are forbidden zones on Tianwu Island. Many Nascent Soul Grandmasters are in secluded cultivation on them. Do not trespass without reason. The mountain on the left is a cave dwelling for our human Nascent Soul Grandmasters, and the one on the right belongs to the Witchcraft Clan."

"How are there so many human Nascent Souls on Tianwu Island?"

Qin Sang turned his head to look at the mountain on the left.

These two mountains were truly the most spiritually endowed spots on Tianwu Island, with pavilions and palaces nestled amidst clear springs and lush forests, exceptionally serene. The spiritual energy within them was incredibly dense.

Qin Sang was certain that these two mountains occupied the best positions on Tianwu Island's spiritual ley lines.

What was surprising was that, judging by Elder Zou's tone, the number of human Nascent Souls on Tianwu Island was not small.

Humans and the Witchcraft Clan were forced to unite to fight the demon race in the Demon Sea, but a rift still existed between them. Otherwise, human cultivators on the Witch God Continent wouldn't become so alarmed and flee in droves whenever there was any disturbance from the Witchcraft Clan.

Even in the Demon Sea, it was difficult to completely remove this rift.

Tianwu Island was the Witchcraft Clan's base. It was normal for human Nascent Souls to pass through, but for the Witchcraft Clan to tolerate so many human Nascent Souls staying there was somewhat strange.

Elder Zou softly said, "When I first arrived in the Demon Sea, I had the same doubts as you, Daoist. Later, I heard some rumors. It's said that the teleportation arrays built by the Witchcraft Clan are not unrelated to our human Grand Exalts. And this mountain, from the very day Tianwu Island was established, has always had our human Nascent Soul Grandmasters stationed here. The true reason, however, remains unknown..."

After seeing Elder Zou off,

Qin Sang and the others walked down the mountain and entered the city, quickly discovering that Tianwu Island was completely different from what they had imagined.

They had heard many times how dangerous the Demon Sea was, and cultivators from the Canglang Sea generally believed that only Golden Core experts would enter the Demon Sea to hunt demons. Foundation Establishment cultivators, on the other hand, would only dare to venture into the Demon Sea at the risk of their lives if they were exceptionally bold or desperate for a breakthrough.

To Qin Sang's surprise, besides Golden Core experts, there were also many Foundation Establishment and Qi Refining cultivators in the city, and even a significant number of mortals.

It was no different from cities in the Canglang Sea.

Kun Dao Huiwen also seemed to be entering the Demon Sea for the first time, looking around with considerable confusion.

"What's so strange about this?"

Ran Luo explained, "These people weren't teleported here. They are descendants of cultivators who entered the Demon Sea in the past. Some lack sufficient talent, and most don't even have spiritual roots. They can't afford the spirit stones for teleportation and can only struggle to make a living in the Demon Sea. You'll understand when you leave the island later. Outside Tianwu Island, there are many islands without spiritual ley lines, where mortals live and form villages. Similar situations exist on Great Barren Island. In fact, even on stable major islands like Duyan Island, there are many mortals and low-level cultivators."

"Aren't they afraid of demon beasts?" Huiwen asked. "Those mortals shouldn't have the ability to defend against demon beasts, right? Does Tianwu Island send people to protect them?"

Ran Luo shook her head. "Tianwu Island and Great Barren Island are different from other islands. Apart from the initial period after their establishment when they were besieged and invaded by demon beasts, as the cultivators' territory gradually expanded, most of the demon beasts around these two islands have been cleared out. Even during the most critical situations, these two islands remained very stable. However, some accidents are inevitable. Occasionally, a reckless demon beast might trespass, and if patrolling cultivators cannot deal with it promptly..."

Ran Luo didn't finish her sentence, but Qin Sang and the others understood what would happen.

It was a world of the strong preying on the weak. Tianwu Island certainly wouldn't be willing to invest too many resources and manpower into protecting "useless" mortals. They could only hope the patrolling cultivators were diligent.

As they spoke, the group arrived before a large cluster of tall buildings, some stone and some wooden, with many cultivators entering and exiting.

Ran Luo entered the foremost building and emerged shortly after, smiling wryly. "Bad timing. The Grand Auction won't start for another month, and I'm afraid we can't wait. These buildings sell various treasures. Perhaps we should look around ourselves to see if there's anything we need. We'll meet at the city gate in the evening to see Elder Zou."

The Grand Auction was Tianwu Island's biggest event, offering countless treasures and held every three months. They had hoped to witness it, but unfortunately, the timing wasn't right.

Qin Sang was considering the same thing. After Ran Luo's explanation, he bid farewell to the others and entered one of the buildings alone.

This building primarily sold spiritual materials for artifact refining and spiritual herbs for alchemy. As Qin Sang stepped inside, several waitresses' eyes lit up. The most beautiful among them gracefully came forward to greet him.
